Inside the dungeon, the scenery was completely different. It was pitch black inside. The only light source was the Basic Light Magic Scroll he had bought earlier from some random Formationist in the market outside.
The scroll needed to be torn to use. And after being torn, it would create a small ball of light that would follow the user around for a specific period of time. The intensity of the illumination wasn’t that high either; it only lit up around 3 meters and lasted about half an hour.
The price of it was 3,000 ACP, when in a normal market, it is barely 100 ACP.
People who forget to bring a few with them need these light bulbs to maneuver here, and many take advantage of that to legally rob people. Just like how Quash got ripped off when he bought five.
It was a total rip-off. He had forgotten that this dungeon was underground, and these types of dungeons don’t have natural illumination, unlike naturally generated ones.
The term for this is a Ruinic Dungeon. It is not naturally generated from the start, but over a long period of time, it turns into a dungeon for many reasons.
Right now, Quash was on the first floor of the dungeon. There were many students just chatting and chilling like they were on a vacation. There were no monsters at this moment. But whenever one spawns, the students just kill it instantly without the monster even getting to know how.
The situation was very bad here. Even after hunting here for a week, some might barely go from Level 1 to 2.
This naturally wasn’t what the students were after.
There was a period of time when this dungeon wasn’t even visited by many. For around four thousand years, barely anyone came here. But everything changed around a hundred years ago when some student discovered that they could actually break the walls of this dungeon.
And they found expensive stuff here. From then on, students came here purely to mine and strike it rich.
But they made sure not to collapse the dungeon. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
They didn’t need to worry, though, because they found buried floors, which are the current 9th and 10th floors. And this was the reason some random student would eventually find that pond of Spirit Water, because everyone down there is just breaking stuff apart. They are trying to find an entrance to the basement or some secret treasury, but there still hasn’t been any discovery regarding that.
Quash’s destination was the 10th floor to mine.
As for why so many students were gathered here?
They were taking a break...
Yeah. The monsters here are so weak that sometimes they just get ignored as if they don’t even exist. Until they voluntarily walk near some student and get slapped into the afterlife instantly.
Gurrahh~
Like right now. Quash gazed at the goblin that had just spawned out of nowhere. It tried to intimidate him by making weird sounds before it lunged at him. He looked at the creature with zero survival instincts with a deadpan expression.
Quash noticed that the goblin involuntarily aligned itself at a perfect kicking angle. And without a second thought, he kicked vertically. The kick took only half his effort, but the effect on the goblin was still devastating. Its small body experienced all of its rib bones snapping like a wet, dead branch.
And the next second, its body got launched back like a bullet, hitting the ceiling. The wall wasn’t damaged, but the goblin’s body splattered like a popped balloon, its organs falling down like rain.
A small wave of chuckles rang out near him. They found it funny how the goblin got launched to the ceiling, and how weak it was that it didn’t even damage the architecture before death.
The students who were under the falling flesh moved out of the way, chuckling. A few gave a thumbs-up to Quash, and he returned the gesture. They didn’t know he was the guy who had cucked them, or the treatment would have been much different.
But he didn’t stay here long and made his way to the next floor.
Quash descended through the stairs. Although almost everything seemed like random rubble and barely anything could be made out, the grandeur of this ancient place could still be felt.
The designs on the walls were barely visible now after all these years. Walking through the ruins, he could almost feel the awe of its previous prestige. There seemed to be many rooms, all of them massive.
He did not know what they were used for, because he never understood why the fuck kings need so many floors in a castle when only the king lives there.
Since he didn’t understand, he decided to shut down his wondering brain and focus on the task at hand. He needed to crank up his speed, get the water, and get the fuck out of here.
Quash then started to jog around to find the way to the next floor. He could have bought maps, but since he was never coming back here again, that would be a waste.
So instead, he decided to invest a bit more time to manually find the way down.
After about half an hour of running through the floor and using monsters to play football whenever he encountered them, he finally managed to reach the 10th floor.
The scenery of the 10th floor was infinitely different from the first floor. The area was massive, and the ceiling was like a hundred meters high. The space was so vast that he felt like an ant.
He also noticed the massive pillars holding this and all the upper floors up. They looked unharmed to this day, still pristine and giving a sense of reliability.
Quash looked around and tried to find that specific wall, having no idea where it was. After roaming around for a while, he involuntarily came to the conclusion that this was the throne room. While exploring, he even found a river flowing through this floor. It was small, but it definitely had a strong current.
He also found an elevated staircase, which made him realise what this floor might have been.
