The City East Alliance wasn’t a monolithic entity. It was comprised of numerous internal factions, all vying for power and profit, often working against one another.

Even if he annihilated this group and offended the faction backing them, he could just align with a different one. As long as the entire City East Alliance didn’t move against him at once, what the hell was there to be afraid of?

Besides, if this event was playing out just like in the game’s plot, then he had to get involved. That particular Salvation Army squad was carrying a holographic map that marked a specific location.

At that location were three mechs. These were heavy-duty weapons. If he’d had them before, dealing with the Gray Wolf Mercenary Corps wouldn’t have been such a hassle; he could have just stormed their gates directly.

In the early game, these things could even take out ability users with ease.

That was why he had spoken with such righteous conviction in front of Wang Cheng.

If events followed the plot, he would need Wang Cheng’s help to get the map.

"Understood, Conductor Lin!" came the reply over the walkie-talkie.

At the same time, atop a building, a spotter held a pair of binoculars to his eyes. He watched the situation unfold from a distance, carefully noting the positions of the City East Alliance members.

This man was a member of Qingfeng Base, carrying out his orders to track the enemy’s locations.

Hearing the report, Lu Feng slammed on the accelerator. The motorcycle shot forward, diving into a narrow alley to take a shortcut to the scene.

This was exactly why he had chosen to ride a motorcycle.

Compared to the hover-trucks, it was far faster and more maneuverable across various types of terrain.

Soon, Lu Feng arrived at the location the Hidden Guard had reported. He went straight to the rooftop of a building, where two more Hidden Guards were stationed.

One of the Hidden Guards immediately replied, "That Salvation Army squad has entered the plaza. The City East Alliance has them surrounded. A fight is going to break out there any second."
