"Boss, what’s our next move?" Lin Jiao asked as soon as she saw the members of the Gray Wolf Mercenary Corps bow their heads in submission.

Lu Feng opened his holographic computer, glanced at the yellow dots on the screen, and asked the driver, "What’s your name?" 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"Guo Zhen!" the driver answered at once.

Lu Feng nodded and gave an order. "Guo Zhen, take some men and bring out all the survivors."

Guo Zhen nodded at once, his face lighting up with joy.

He knew his new boss was about to give him an important task. After acknowledging the order, he immediately went over to the other Mercenary Corps members. "You all, come with me to get the people."

The Mercenary Corps members didn’t react at first. Only then did they realize the situation had changed, and they quickly followed Guo Zhen.

Before long, Guo Zhen returned, herding the base’s survivors before Lu Feng.

There was a large number of them—several hundred at least—and every one of them wore an electronic shackle around their neck.

The men were all gaunt and haggard, clearly malnourished and in a miserable state.

As for the women, the unattractive ones were just as thin and starved, but the prettier ones with good figures had much healthier complexions.

All in all, the survivors reminded Lu Feng of real-world refugees.

Still, the sheer number of survivors genuinely surprised Lu Feng.

The survivors, in turn, stared at Lu Feng with expressions of awe and fear.

They had already been told the base was under new ownership.

In their eyes, Gray Wolf had been terrifying enough, but now, the man standing before them had killed him.

"Boss, everyone’s here. What are your instructions?" Guo Zhen hurried to Lu Feng’s side, speaking with utmost respect.

Lu Feng looked at the survivors and asked directly, "I’m sure you already know this base now belongs to me. So, what I want to know is this: what did you all do for work before the apocalypse?"

Guo Zhen didn’t understand why his new boss was asking these questions. Seeing the survivors just standing there in a daze, he immediately barked, "What are you all gawking at? Didn’t you hear the boss?"

Seeing this, Lin Jiao, Chen Hao, Chen Tao, and Xu Bin exchanged a glance before all turning to look at Guo Zhen.

’This one seems awfully eager to impress.’

However, Guo Zhen’s shout snapped the survivors out of it. One person stepped forward and said, "Before the apocalypse, I was an appliance repairman. I can fix all kinds of electronics, and if I have the materials, I can build them from scratch!"

Lu Feng’s eyes lit up at his words. He glanced over at Cheng Yaoyao. This survivor could clearly help Yaoyao with the electromagnetic rice cooker technology.

Once the first person spoke, others quickly followed suit.

"I was a master mixologist before the apocalypse! I know recipes for all sorts of cocktails and the popular hard seltzers from the bars!"

"I was a mobile game designer! I can program all kinds of games and crack the code for any mobile game!"

"I was a researcher..."

"I was the CFO for a cloud networking company."

One by one, the survivors announced their pre-apocalypse professions.

As they continued their reports, Lu Feng realized he had a lot of talented people on his hands. This was a welcome development, as he had been planning to establish a post-apocalyptic research base right here in Zhuangyuan District.

With that in mind, Lu Feng instructed Guo Zhen, "Go have someone prepare a meal. Let them eat well. From now on, make sure they get enough to eat every day!"

Men always have a special interest in this sort of thing.

In the apocalypse, these weapons might not be as good as laser guns, but if taken back to his original world, they would undoubtedly be far more advanced and powerful.

Guo Zhen quickly explained, "Boss, this production line is what we used to produce and restock the Gray Wolf Mercenary Corps’ weapons. The line is flawed and can’t operate automatically, so we’d usually have the captured survivors work here to manually assist with production."

Lu Feng nodded and walked over to a table where finished bullets were laid out in several different types.

He spotted two familiar types of ammunition, immediately went over, picked them up, and used his game’s inspection skill on them.
