After giving his instructions, Lu Feng went into a building.

The buildings in Zhuangyuan District were quite tall, 43 stories in total, and likely the tallest in the area. The insides had already been mostly cleared.

Lu Feng went straight up one of the buildings to the rooftop. From there, he looked around and had a panoramic view of the surroundings.

If he had binoculars, he could see the surrounding situation with perfect clarity. He figured he could get some later; they would provide a second layer of security in coordination with the Hidden Guards Lin Jiao had arranged, ensuring the base’s safety.

The only issue was the shortage of combat personnel at the base. However, he could assign some of the survivors wearing electronic shackles to this task.

Previously, those survivors didn’t get enough to eat and were listless, so their work efficiency was low.

Now that they were eating their fill at every meal, their efficiency had skyrocketed. One person could now handle the workload that used to require two or three people.

Next, Lu Feng looked off into the distance, where a few dozen zombies were roaming about.

Zombie gathering spots were never fixed. Any noise, whether from someone passing by or distant thunder, could attract them, causing them to move toward the sound’s origin. Once the noise stopped, however, the zombies would also come to a halt.

Typically, if zombies like these appeared near a Survivor Base, the base would send out a party to eliminate them.

He quickly arrived at the location and saw the dozens of zombies from afar.

The noise he made attracted the zombies, and they immediately charged at him.

Lu Feng stopped his bike, pulled out two pistols, and aimed them at the dozens of charging zombies.

He then opened fire. With his Proficiency with Old-fashioned Firearms skill, he hardly missed, each bullet finding its mark on a zombie.

The charging zombies were struck in the head one after another, their skulls bursting as they collapsed to the ground.

The crucial part was that mutated zombies could control hordes of regular zombies.

This particular Mutant Beast, known as a Hexagonal Beast, could control mutated zombies, which in turn controlled entire zombie hordes, allowing it to besiege human bases.

Many Survivor Bases had been destroyed by these Hexagonal Beasts.

It was the existence of Mutant Beasts like the Hexagonal Beast in the game that made him feel he truly needed to grind more monsters and increase his own power.

Just as he was thinking this, his phone rang. It was a call from Brother Lin.

He immediately answered, and Brother Lin’s voice came through the line. "Xiaofeng, we’ve got a lead on that matter you asked me about. An electronics factory has run into some internal issues and is filing for bankruptcy. We can buy it for a much lower price than normal, but you’ll need to come to Tianzhou City in person. Also, we’ve secured the beauty salon, but you’ll need to have Qingxue come over to handle the renovations. I don’t know the first thing about beauty salons, after all."

"Okay, got it. I’ll head over in the next couple of days," Lu Feng replied before hanging up. Then he got in his car and drove to the beauty salon where Yang Qingxue worked.
