Although a lot had happened in his Divine Realm, and he had been busy planning a massive troop buildup, Zhang Yi still had to attend his daily classes as usual.

In mid-December, his homeroom teacher, Guo Aiqing, suddenly sent out a notice summoning every student to the physical school grounds. The final exams were just half a month away, and the principal had notified the entire second year that they must all be present tomorrow for a pre-exam mobilization meeting.

His homeroom teacher, Guo Aiqing, didn’t provide any more details. She simply told them they would find out everything once they arrived and listened to the principal’s speech.

So, early the next morning, Zhang Yi bundled up in warm clothes and left home a little after seven. When his parents saw him heading to the physical school that morning, they were quite curious. But after learning it was for a pre-exam mobilization meeting organized by the principal, they didn’t say much else, instead reminding him to get to school early and not be late.

At 7:35 AM, Zhang Yi arrived at school right on time. He couldn’t just head straight to the sports field, so he went to his classroom first. Only a few students were scattered around the room; clearly, most hadn’t arrived yet.

When Guo Aiqing saw Zhang Yi, a smile appeared on her face. "What brings you here?"

Zhang Yi glanced at her desk and saw that it was clear; it was obvious she wasn’t busy with anything urgent. Only then did he speak. "Not many of my classmates are here yet, so I came to your office to see if you needed any help with anything."

Hearing this, his teacher replied jokingly, "Just as long as you’re not here to secretly ask me for the contents of the final exam!"

Seeing the smile on his teacher’s face and hearing her words, Zhang Yi knew she was just kidding. "As if! I wouldn’t dare make things difficult for you, no matter how bold I might be!"

Guo Aiqing didn’t say anything more in response. Instead, she took out Zhang Yi’s "salary" for the month.

"Last time, you requested a Skill-type Divine Domain Card. This time, you’re requesting a Reproduction-type Divine Domain Card! You’re the class president, and I’m trying to give you your salary, but it’s been so difficult both times! Zhang Yi knew that Reproduction-type Divine Domain Cards were extremely rare, regardless of their quality or Star Level. He also knew his teacher, Guo Aiqing, had connections. Even so, he was very touched to hear how much she cared, going so far as to trade for the Divine Domain Card at the finance office just for him.

Zhang Yi didn’t understand at first. He looked up at Guo Aiqing, his face a mask of confusion.

Seeing him staring at her blankly, still not getting it, Guo Aiqing smiled and spelled it out for him. "With your grades, you’re sure to earn a spot in the University Alliance Training Camp after these finals! Once you’re at the University Alliance Training Camp, you won’t be at our school anymore. And if you’re not the class president, how could you possibly still get a salary from the school?"

After hearing her explanation, Zhang Yi realized she was right.

"Alright, I don’t have anything else for you. You can go," she said. "You’ll be on the sports field soon to listen to the principal’s speech. As class president, you need to manage your class. Don’t let them get loud and disruptive during the assembly. It won’t look good if other teachers see them or have to call them out!"

Zhang Yi nodded and left his teacher’s office.

He returned to the classroom, and a short while later, everyone had arrived. When Sima Yuan saw him return, he asked where he’d been. "I saw your bag, but where were you?"

Once Wan Hua arrived as well, the group started chatting happily. Before long, the school’s broadcast system crackled to life, instructing all second-year students to head to the sports field for the principal’s speech.

As class president, Zhang Yi naturally walked at the head of the line, holding their class sign, while Vice President Wan Hua brought up the rear to make sure the line stayed orderly. Once they were on the field and in formation, Principal Tang Weihua walked onto the podium, and the pre-finals mobilization speech began.

"Hello, students! I’m sure you all know that I am your principal. For this mobilization meeting, I’m not going to waste your time. I’m going to talk about something you’re all interested in: the spots for the University Alliance!"

Just as he’d intended, the students—who had been expecting Principal Tang Weihua to read from a long, boring script—were immediately hooked by his unconventional opening, and every student was instantly paying attention.

"I’m sure you all know that this year, our school has one more spot for the University Alliance Training Camp than in previous years!"

Hearing this, the students below couldn’t help but nod in agreement.
