While the driver and man seated behind him were imagining the benefits from the guild, suddenly, they heard a scream and the next thing man noticed was a fist passing by him, aimed at the driver.

"Hey..."

"Ahh...what the.." the driver screamed the sudden hit caused him to swerve a little.

The man looked at the Vanya with her fist raised in defiance and eyes that screamed, I am not going down.

"This bitch..." the driver cursed, "What the hell are you doing, Abbas? Get her under control." He shouted angrily.

"I had a feeling, one punch won’t be enough for you." The man looked at Vanya with predatory eyes, excited that he had the opportunity to give a beat down.

He swung his fist, aimed at her jaw again. Vanya barely ducked as she felt his fist pass over his head, she gathered all her strength and punched him in the ribs.

HEUK!

The man winced as he felt a stinging pain.

"Zaheer, stop the van, I will teach her a lesson in a minute," the man shouted as he held a hand against his ribs.

"I can’t, this is a residential area, a grey van with tinted window will stand out too much. Just hurry up, can’t you beat a single girl?" the driver, Zaheer, denied.

"I am gonna enjoy beating up your pretty face." The man, Abbas, spoke, trying to sound menacing.

Both him and Vanya faced each other in a hunched position in the van while the driver speed up the van, hurrying to leave the residential area.

At this moment beside the Adrenaline there was only one thing in her mind, she had to do whatever it takes to prevent herself from being kidnapped.

She didn’t say anything, she was focusing on trying to apply all the knowledge and practices she had under Hunter’s Curriculum.

She knew she was the prey at the moment and to avoid the fate of a prey, she would have to throw everything possible.

’I have to target his weak spots to get him distracted enough to reach the driver,’ a simple plan formed in her mind but the problem was its execution.

’And the van is going through residential area according to them, if I get out here, I would have a better chance at escaping.’ She clenched her fist tighter.

The man threw his punch again, faster this time. Vanya tried to move away but wasn’t able to, the cramped space in van didn’t help either, the fist hit her in abdomen area.

This caused her to bow and fell to her knees as she clutched her stomach, spewing a small patch of blood.

"Want more?" the man asked, "try getting up again, if you want," he taunted.

Vanya felt like she would puke her guts out due to the pain radiating from her stomach, but surrendering wasn’t an option anymore.

’I AM NOT WEAK,’ she reminded herself, quietly this time, as she tried getting up again.

Just as she rose her head up, she saw a fist aimed at her nose. She immediately pivoted her head sideways as she pushed him to the side and went directly for the driver’s seat belt.

However, just a few inches before she could reach it, Abbas caught her neck tight, choking her. Vanya’s face turned white then to shade of red as he brought her face in front of him at arms length.

Even though her breathing became ragged, she threw her hands at him which were becoming numb by every second, trying to force him to release the choking grip.

He wasn’t trying to kill her, just enough pressure to make it as painful as possible while her oxygen intake plummeted.

Her eyes turned blood red, it seemed they were about jump out of her eye sockets.

After a few seconds, when her resistance seemingly died, he brought her closer, still gripping on her neck. He had a menacing smile that was saying, I told you so.

"When I am done with you, you would hate that pretty face of yours and yourself." His every words were laced with venom and malice.

He expected her to plead or to just surrender but unexpectedly, she smiled, her teeth stained with blood, visible.

Before he could understand the meaning behind her smile, she spoke with confidence, "Got you."

At the same moment, she moved her knee striking directly at his balls. He immediately removed his grip around her neck, as he covered his balls and started falling face down.

She gasped for air the moment she was released from his grip but her work was far from done. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

He hadn’t even completely processed the pain, when she drove her knee forward again, striking the same spot. Just when he was about scream, that knee shot silenced him again.

Noticing the silence, Zaheer asked, "Did you finally get the bitch under control."

He expected an answer but instead, he sensed movement as suddenly the seat belt looped around his head. Vanya pulled the belt tight.

Zaheer, caught off guard, started losing control of the steering wheel. The van started swerving, Vanya maintained her grip on the belt.

"What...are you...doing...you could die?" Zaheer spoke as he felt leave his lungs, the only thing he could do at the moment beside trying to control the van.

"That’s better than being kidnapped by you scumbags," Vanya shouted as she put her strength, pulling the belt tighter.

Abbas on the van floor, tried to rise up amidst the pain as he felt the van swerving. However, he hadn’t even raised his head properly when Vanya kicked him again from the back, though her aim didn’t changed.

He fell flat on his face, forgetting about standing up as raw scream left his throat.

Zaheer on the other side tried to use one hand to fee himself but Vanya punched his face before he could try.

That punch made him take his eyes off road, that all it took as van started swerving on the street of residential area parked with cars on both side.

Zaheer tried to control the steering wheel again but that was final push into the disaster as the van finally flipped after crashing against a car.

Vanya remained still, holding on to the seat belt and a handle, trying to keep herself as steady as possible.

Abbas was half unconscious due to the pain while Zaheer screamed as the van’s roof hit the road.

The loud noise caused by the accident brought the neighborhood attention as many windows and some gates opened to check the commotion outside.

Within a minute, many men and few women were rushing to the van to look for any passenger.

"Call an ambulance, I am calling the police," a man running towards the flipped van shouted.

"Should we call the hunter corps too?" one man questioned as they started looking through the driver’s window to see Zaheer struggling to move.

Suddenly, the back gate of the van opened as Vanya pulled herself out of the van. Her clothes bloody, jaw slightly dislocated and a hand bent unnaturally as blood dripped from her fingers.

Both of her legs were covered with deep abrasions, as she got herself on the road.

"There’s an injured girl too, where’s that ambulance?" a woman shouted, trying to help Vanya.

Vanya felt slightly relieved even though every cell in her body was throbbing with pain right now.

She didn’t even mind her broken hand, as all that mattered right now was to get away from both scumbags.

As people, unaware of the situation, helped Zaheer to get out. The moment he got out, his eyes frantically looked for Vanya, only to notice that she was trying to crawl away.

"Get here you, bitch," Zaheer shouted with all his strength as he tried leaped towards her.

The moment she heard his voice, her body reacted again, ready to fight again. However, her body was way past its limits at the moment.

She looked around to see if someone would intervene when a young girl in a sleek suit appeared next to Zaheer knocking him out easily.

Before anyone could ask questions, she reached near Vanya supporting her. "It’s okay you are safe now." She spoke softly.

Vanya though still on guard, felt relieved feeling a gentle voice, ’I did it brother, I took my first step.’ She thought before finally falling unconscious in young girl’s arm.
