Rosalind watched him silently as his hands moved to unbuckle his belt, her stomach tightening with anticipation the moment it fell somewhere onto the floor. Slowly, he pushed his trousers down before removing the last remaining layer between them.

Rosalind drew in a sharp breath.

The sight of him fully aroused made heat rush straight to her face, especially when she realized just how large he was.

"Is... is this going to hurt?" Rosalind asked quietly.

She had never done this before, and now she was about to give herself to him completely for the first time. She was scared it would hurt a lot.

Rowan did not lie to her. "It will," he admitted softly and fear immediately entered her eyes.

"But I’ll go slowly, alright? I’ll guide you through it." He added, to ease the frightened look on her face.

Rosalind swallowed, forcing herself to stay calm despite the nervousness twisting inside her. She had said she wanted this, and she truly did, but seeing him like this, feeling the reality of what was about to happen between them, made her realize how unprepared she really was.

Still, she nodded.

That alone was enough for Rowan to lean down and kiss her, as if he was trying to ease her fear before anything else. He settled properly between her legs, and Rosalind felt the brief brush of his member against her entrance, the sensation sending a sharp wave of heat through her entire body.

She had wondered what it would feel like to be one with someone.

And now she was about to experience it with the only person she truly wanted.

Rowan guided himself slowly against her already sensitive entrance. The feeling of her warmth around him nearly shattered him, and he exhaled slowly, trying to steady himself.

He wanted this just as badly.

But more than anything, he wanted to make sure she felt safe with him through all of it.

Rosalind moaned softly against his lips as he rubbed slowly against her, teasing her gently while her body reacted instinctively to every movement. The anticipation alone made her heart pound harder inside her chest.

"Take a deep breath," Rowan whispered against her ear.

She obeyed immediately, and then she felt him slide inside her slowly.

Rosalind’s breath caught instantly at the unfamiliar stretch, and Rowan stopped immediately.

"Are you alright?" he asked softly.

Even though discomfort had already begun to spread through her body, Rosalind nodded anyway.

He pulled out slowly before thrusting slightly deeper this time.

Rowan’s jaw tightened hard as he tried to maintain control because going this slowly was torture for him too, yet he forced himself to remain patient for her sake.

"Rosalind?" She nodded once more, even as her fingers tightened against his shoulders.

Then he eased back slightly before pushing in again.

This time the pain became sharper. Her brows pulled together immediately, and Rowan noticed it at once.

"Does it hurt a lot?" he asked quietly.

Rosalind shook her head even though it clearly did because she already knew if she admitted it properly, he would stop for her sake.

"Relax for me," Rowan murmured gently, brushing his thumb against her side. "Your body will adjust easier that way."

Rosalind tried to loosen beneath him despite the ache building inside her, and slowly it became slightly easier for him to move further.

Then finally Rowan pushed fully into her.

Rosalind gasped sharply as the sudden fullness and pain overwhelmed her all at once. Her nails dug hard into his back while Rowan immediately stilled above her, his own breathing rough now as he tried not to move quickly.

Rosalind squeezed her eyes shut briefly as tears gathered faintly at the corners... It was only after some while that the sharpest part of the pain slowly began to fade as her body adjusted to him.

Rowan remained still the entire time, giving her space to adjust.

When he noticed her relaxing slightly beneath him, he spoke again. "I’m going to move now."

Rosalind nodded weakly against him.

Then he began moving slowly. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

And carefully.

Each thrust remained gentle, as he was afraid of hurting her, and Rosalind held tightly onto him while trying to adjust to the strange new feeling of him inside her instead of his fingers.

It still ached, but there was something else beginning to build beneath the discomfort too, something warmer that spread slowly through her body the longer he moved.

Rowan kissed her repeatedly while he held himself above her, as if trying to soothe away every trace of pain with his mouth alone. His hands wandered over her breasts and waist, caressing all the places he knew made her melt beneath him, distracting her until her breathing slowly changed.

The tension in her body gradually eased.

Her arms slipped around his neck while her fingers threaded through his hair again, and Rowan immediately noticed the difference.

"Does it feel better now?" he asked softly.

This time Rosalind nodded honestly.

Because slowly, little by little, the pain was being replaced by pleasure.

The steady rhythm of his body moving with hers became easier to follow, and before long she found herself arching slightly against him instead of shrinking away. Outside, the storm continued raging violently against the palace walls while inside the room the quieter sounds between them slowly filled the air.

Rowan’s grip tightened gently against her thighs as he moved deeper again, and suddenly Rosalind gasped when he brushed against a spot inside her that sent a sharp shiver through her entire body.

"There you are," he murmured softly near her ear.

His pace increased slightly after that, still controlled but deeper now, and Rosalind clung tightly to him while her body responded more eagerly beneath him.

"Rowan..." she moaned breathlessly.

He seemed to understand exactly what she needed because he maintained the same pace, repeating those movements until the pressure inside her began tightening again.

Rosalind’s lips parted soundlessly at first before another moan escaped her when her body started trembling around him.

"Rowan..."

Her legs shook lightly while her fingers gripped him tighter, and Rowan groaned quietly at the feeling of her tightening around him as he continued thrusting steadily into her.

Then finally the tension inside her snapped completely.

Rosalind arched against him as pleasure rushed through her body all at once, leaving her breathless while she clung desperately to him. Rowan clenched his jaw hard, forcing himself to remain steady from the sounds she was making and the way her body reacted around him.

After she slowly came down from her heights, Rosalind breathed unevenly beneath him, her chest rising and falling rapidly while she looked up at him with flushed cheeks and hazy eyes.

"Did I do well?" she asked softly, almost shyly.

The question caught Rowan completely off guard.

A faint smile finally touched his lips despite everything.

"Yes," he answered quietly before leaning down to kiss her cheek and she smiled. Then, Rowan carefully pulled away from her.

Rosalind lay there afterward trying to catch her breath, but despite everything, despite the pain and fear and uncertainty waiting for them outside this room, she knew she would never regret giving herself to him.

Exhaustion slowly settled over her body after a while, and eventually her eyes drifted shut.

Beside her, Rowan remained awake.

He turned toward her sleeping figure, his gaze lingering quietly on her face. Slowly, he lifted his hand and brushed his thumb gently along her cheek, tracing her features carefully like he was trying to memorize them.

The thought that this might truly be the end settled painfully inside his chest.

He pressed a soft kiss against her forehead.

No matter how short their time together had been, meeting her had been the best thing that happened to him.

And he was still grateful it happened at all.
