Cedric, the loyal ally and Captain of the Knights, had been appointed Regent for the week while Rowan cleared his schedule entirely so he could spend their honeymoon with Rosalind. To his surprise, she had chosen a coastal retreat.

Fortunately, there was a royal house by the beach, now it seemed that was where they would spend the entire week together.

As the carriage moved along the road, Rosalind leaned her head against Rowan’s shoulder while enjoying the scenery outside.

"So, what made you choose the beach?" Rowan asked.

Rosalind turned her attention away from the window and looked at him. Part of the reason was simply because they had never been to the beach together before.

"I’ve always imagined what it would feel like to live with your partner," she said with a soft chuckle while Rowan watched her. "A simple life, sort of." She continued.

There would be no disturbances and no worries. It would just be the two of them together and away from the rest of the world. But even though her life was far from simple now and she was officially Queen, the dream had never left her.

"I wanted to experience what it feels like to be completely alone together, away from everyone else. We can talk, eat, play, and spend time however we want without having to worry about anything."

She smiled at him, and Rowan slowly nodded as he processed her words. "I think that’ll be great," he said at last.

Rosalind’s smile widened immediately before she rested her head against him again and wrapped both arms around his.

Ever since her parents and everyone else had left, Rowan had been the one comforting her. Rosalind could be clingy at times, but instead of bothering him, it only made his feelings for her deepen. Seeing her this happy reassured him that choosing this place had been the right decision because making her happy had become one of his greatest joys.

If she was happy, then he was happy too.

Once they arrived, Rosalind’s excitement became impossible to hide. The journey had ended, but they still needed to continue the rest of the way on foot toward the house standing in the distance.

The sound of the sea filled the air while the scent of salt drifted along the breeze. White sand stretched across the shore, birds called overhead, and coconut trees swayed gently beneath the wind.

"Let me carry one of those," Rosalind said, gesturing toward the luggage.

"It’s fine. Don’t worry about it," Rowan replied.

Rosalind looked at him with concern. "I can’t possibly do nothing while you’re carrying all of that."

Rowan paused for a moment before looking at her. "Yes, you can."

Rosalind pressed her lips together at his response.

"Let’s get going," he said.

After a great deal of reluctance, she continued ahead while Rowan followed behind carrying the luggage. Though the weight was nothing to him and he was handling it perfectly well, Rosalind acted as though he was carrying the entire world on his shoulders, constantly turning around to check on him.

Their carriage had already departed because Rowan had arranged beforehand for the royal coachman to return after a week and fetch them.

As they drew closer to the house, Rosalid’s smile widened. The building was tall and featured a balcony overlooking the sea. It wasn’t nearly as grand as the palace, but it felt comfortable and welcoming in a way that immediately appealed to her.

The moment they reached the entrance and opened the door, they were welcomed into a cozy sitting room furnished with long comfortable couches. There was a fireplace against one wall, a dining table with two chairs already arranged, and a neatly organized kitchen nearby.

Everything felt simple, yet beautiful. "It’s so lovely," Rosalind said excitedly as she turned toward Rowan.

He couldn’t help agreeing.

"I want to go see the room upstairs." Rosalind said.

He nodded. "Be careful on the stairs."

Rosalind barely waited for him to finish speaking before rushing toward them while Rowan let out a quiet sigh. He took the opportunity to look around the sitting room and dining area once more.

Everything appeared exactly as it should.

He had sent servants ahead to prepare the house, and now it had been arranged perfectly.

More than anything, he hoped this place would give Rosalind the peaceful memories she wanted.

Meanwhile, Rosalind reached the upper floor and stepped into the bedroom.

The room was spacious and inviting, decorated in soft colors that brightened the entire space. A large bed sat at the center, surrounded by cupboards and shelves. She noticed several books arranged neatly, and since they weren’t dusty, they must have been placed there recently.

There was also a small couch beside a table, while the rug beneath her feet felt wonderfully soft.

She continued exploring until she found the bathing area, and it was exactly what she had hoped for. The bath was large enough for two people and carried a pleasant fragrance throughout the room.

But the best part was the balcony.

The room faced directly toward the sea, allowing them to watch both the sunrise and sunset without ever leaving the bedroom.

Rosalind stood there quietly for a moment while taking everything in.

She wasn’t sure she had ever felt happier.

The dream she had carried for so long was finally coming true. Even though they would only spend a week here, it meant more to her than she could ever explain because she would be spending every moment of it with Rowan.

"Come and see this, Rowan" Rosalind called from the balcony.

Rowan hadn’t even finished setting down the luggage before she was already pulling him toward it.

"Take a look at this properly," she insisted excitedly.

The sea stretched endlessly before them, glittering beneath the afternoon sunlight. Birds soared through the sky while the breeze carried the scent of saltwater. "Well?" Rosalind asked as she turned to him expectantly.

Rowan took in the view before a faint smile appeared on his face."It’s breathtaking."

Rosalind couldn’t help but be satisfied at his answer. They stood side by side for a moment, simply admiring the scenery while the sound of the waves drifted toward them. Everything felt peaceful, complete, and far away from the responsibilities waiting for them at the palace.

When they eventually returned to the room, Rowan glanced around before looking back at her. "So, what do you think of it?"

Rosalind answered with a warm smile."It’s perfect."

Rowan chuckled softly before making his way over to the bed and sitting beside her.

Rosalind turned to him, "I don’t even know what we should do first. Take a bath together, swim, cook... there are just so many things."

"We’ll do everything," Rowan assured her, and the excitement on her face immediately grew.

"Not necessarily all at once, but I’ll make sure we do everything that makes you happy and turns this week into something unforgettable."
