- Chapter 1: ¹Despair at the Bottom of the Abyss
The third-floor corridor of the Main Tower suddenly felt suffocatingly narrow.
Valera, the Northern Faction’s premier Gold Knight, glared into the crimson eyes of the youth whose collar she was gripping. The threat to snap her wrists sounded utterly absurd, especially coming from the mouth of an F-Caste mage.
Valera scoffed dismissively. A feral smirk curled on her thick lips.
"Hah... snap my wrists? Boy, you haven’t even—"
Instead of wasting his breath listening to Valera’s rambling, Ethan acted.
He channeled the absolute density of his Rank B Sin Mana directly into the muscle fibers of his arms and legs.
Ethan’s left hand—which had been casually tucked in his pocket this whole time—shot out at a speed Valera’s retinas failed to track.
Grab!
Ethan swatted away Valera’s grip on his collar, then clamped his hand fiercely around the exotic woman’s wrist.
Valera flinched. Her combat instincts reflexively took over.
The female knight instantly planted her stance. She surged her Gold Knight-tier golden aura throughout her body, intending to pull and slam the scrawny youth onto the stone floor to shatter his ribs.
However, something completely insane happened.
Valera yanked her arm with all her monstrous strength, but... Ethan’s body didn’t budge a single millimeter!
"W-what...?!" Valera’s golden eyes widened in horror.
Before Valera could even process the impossibility, Ethan brutally twisted the knight’s wrist.
He wrenched it backward until the sickening crunch of bone echoed, then shoved Valera’s body, slamming her back viciously against the stone wall of the corridor.
CRASH!
The marble wall splintered into a spiderweb of cracks. The air in Valera’s lungs was instantly expelled.
"Ugh!" Valera spat. An excruciating pain stung her spine. She hadn’t even had the chance to touch the greatsword on her back.
Ethan didn’t afford her the luxury of breathing.
Ethan’s right hand struck like a venomous snake. He grabbed Valera by the throat, hoisting the muscular, mature woman up until her feet dangled inches off the floor.
Valera’s legs kicked at empty air. Both her hands reflexively clawed at Ethan’s wrist, desperately trying to tear away his choking grip. But the youth’s hand was as unyielding as a demon’s vise.
"You rely on your animalistic instincts to hunt your prey, Lady Knight?" Ethan whispered.
His face was mere inches from Valera’s, which was turning blue from the lack of oxygen. "If that’s the case... let your instincts tell you... exactly who you are facing right now."
WHOOSH!
Ethan unleashed his pure Killing Intent.
The absolute mental pressure of a Demon Lord—pure, unadulterated murderous intent without a single drop of mercy.
For a knight who lived by feral instincts like Valera, this pressure was thousands of times more terrifying than any elemental magic.
In Valera’s mind’s eye, the academy corridor seemed to melt and vanish. Replaced by the pitch-black darkness of a bottomless abyss. And the brown-haired youth before her... slowly morphed into a primordial predator staring down a pitiful little rabbit.
Every single cell in Valera’s body screamed one absolute command: SUBMIT OR DIE!
The woman’s muscular body convulsed violently. An incredibly dense fear devoured her courage, shattering her pride as a Gold Knight into pieces.
And beneath that extreme terror, the dense Sin Mana radiating from Ethan’s body began to forcibly seep into Valera’s lungs. Transmuting the fear of death into a wave of sexual stimulation that instantly turned her knees to jelly.
"Hah... uh... P-please..." Valera choked out. Her bright yellow eyes began to glaze over.
She could no longer resist. Her hands, which had been roughly clawing at Ethan’s arm, slowly loosened, transforming into a gentle, pleading caress. Her muscles surrendered completely to the youth’s absolute dominance.
[VALERA SUBJUGATION PROGRESS: 75%]
[Physical Pride Shattered. The Target’s Predator Instincts have been absolutely subjugated by the Alpha.]
Just as Ethan was on the verge of completing the mental breaking of the Rosenberg family’s bloodhound... the sound of hurried footsteps echoed from the corridor intersection.
"My Master! My Master!!"
Kaelia von Ashford sprinted down the hall, discarding the last remaining shreds of her noble etiquette. Her uniform dress was a wrinkled mess, and her face was painted with an unfathomable panic.
The moment she saw Ethan, Kaelia couldn’t care less that someone else was there. She didn’t even pay mind to the elite Northern knight currently being choked to death against the wall.
Kaelia instantly threw herself to the floor. Kneeling and tightly hugging Ethan’s leg.
"My Master, this is insane!" Kaelia sobbed. Her voice trembled violently under pure terror. "Prince Edward has accelerated the schedule! The engagement banquet and the binding of the Blood Oath will take place tomorrow night in the Main Hall!"
Kaelia looked up, tears streaming down her face. "If the royal priest detects your seal in my womb when the oath is recited... I will die from mana rejection, My Master!"
Valera, who was still weakly choking against the wall, widened her glazed eyes.
The Bloodhound couldn’t believe what she was seeing and hearing.
Kaelia von Ashford? The Fire Queen known as the most arrogant girl in the entire academy? The Southern Duke’s heir and the future queen of the kingdom... kneeling and crying at the feet of an F-Caste student?! And calling him ’My Master’?! A seal in her womb?!
Valera’s sanity crumbled into dust.
Her instincts had been right all along. There was an incredibly horrifying monster hiding in this academy. A monster who had conquered her lord’s wife (Isolde), crushed her lord’s son (Kurt), and apparently had now absolutely dominated the kingdom’s future queen!
And that monster... was currently holding her by the throat.
Sensing Valera shivering violently in despair, Ethan slowly loosened his grip. Letting the muscular knight’s body slump and thud onto the stone floor.
"Cough! Cough!"
Valera coughed violently, greedily gasping for oxygen. Cold sweat drenched her exotic brown skin, making the inner shirt of her armor cling tightly.
She looked up, staring at Ethan with a gaze filled with fear and newfound obedience. Exactly like a wild wolf whose neck had just been stomped on by the Alpha.
"Listen to me very carefully, Valera," Ethan said with freezing coldness. He looked down at the panting woman beneath him. "Duke Alaric gave you three days to find the culprit. You have two choices now."
Ethan looked down. He lifted Valera’s chin using the tip of his boot.
"Choice one: You return to him today and report exactly what you just saw. Then... I will snap your neck and eradicate your entire family right in front of your eyes."
Valera’s eyes widened. Her instincts knew full well this boy wasn’t bluffing.
"Choice two," Ethan continued. His demonic smirk bloomed flawlessly. "You turn those feral instincts into my personal tracker. Return to Duke Alaric. Give him a forged report. Tell him that Kurt’s attacker resides within Prince Edward’s faction. Pit them against each other. Do you understand?"
Valera swallowed hard. Her ego had been pulverized beneath his boot. The terror of death and the intoxicating demonic pheromones had etched a brand-new code of loyalty into her brain.
She gave a stiff nod, bowing her head deeply until her forehead touched the floor.
"I-I understand... My Master. I... will obey you," Valera whispered, her hoarse voice trembling violently.
[VALERA SUBJUGATION PROGRESS: 100%]
[The Bloodhound has officially switched factions. Warning: Lust Brand synchronization will occur if the Target comes into intensive contact with the Host’s mana.]
"Good. Now get out of my sight before I change my mind," Ethan dismissed her casually.
Valera hurriedly scrambled up. The knight’s legs now looked visibly shaky. She bowed one last time in utter submission, then hobbled away, leaving the dark corridor while carrying that intoxicating terror in her head.
Once the corridor fell silent again, Ethan shifted his entire attention to Kaelia, who was still squirming and trembling as she hugged his leg.
The red-haired girl looked up, her eyes puffy. "My Master... w-what should I do? The Prince will kill me if he finds out..."
Ethan didn’t answer with words.
He reached out, caressing Kaelia’s wet cheek, then let his fingers slowly trail down her neck. The false gentleness Ethan provided only made Kaelia’s womb flutter maddeningly.
For Kaelia, dying at the hands of the royal priest due to a failed Blood Oath was indeed horrifying. But the thought that she would have to hand her life over to Prince Edward when her soul already absolutely yearned to belong to Ethan... that was a thousand times more torturous.
"You are not going to die, Kaelia," Ethan whispered. His voice flowed with incredible calm, a stark contrast to the panic gripping the palace and academy all day.
Ethan grabbed Kaelia’s jaw, forcing her to stand tall. He stared into her golden eyes with a crimson glint that was beginning to blaze with the ambition of seizing the throne.
He remembered Elara, his blind angel waiting at the border. And Prince Edward... a man far too foolish to realize he had just laid a hand on the Devil’s prized property.
"A Blood Oath before the Royal Priest, huh?" Ethan chuckled softly. A cold, absolute smirk bloomed once more on his face.
"Wipe your tears, Fire Queen. Wear your best gown tomorrow night."
Kaelia froze. Her heart pounded erratically. "W-what do you mean, My Master?"
"The two of us will be attending the Main Hall tomorrow," Ethan answered with finality.
He squeezed Kaelia’s waist protectively and possessively. "Let that damn Prince gather every official and royal dignitary for your grand engagement banquet. Because tomorrow night..."
Ethan’s eyes narrowed cruelly. "...we are going to turn his banquet into his political funeral."
