Apocalypse Rebirth: Crazy from Day One

’She suddenly realized they were being quite polite to her.’

’She couldn’t imagine what would have happened if that kick had landed on her.’

The man was also startled. He cowered and didn’t say another word.

Stella Sterling looked at them, gestured to the filthy entrance of her apartment with a lift of her chin, and said, "You made this mess. Get rid of him, and clean up the blood. If you don’t do a good job—"

As Stella Sterling spoke, her cold gaze swept over them.

The group trembled in fear and hastily replied, "Don’t worry, we’ll clean it up for you. We guarantee you’ll be satisfied."

Stella Sterling nodded. At that moment, an older woman spoke up, tentatively and doubtfully, "Miss, what about the other person? Doesn’t he have to help?"

’Since we all made this mess together, we should all have to clean it together.’

’The dead one is one thing, but the other guy isn’t dead. Why doesn’t he have to help?’

Although the woman asked cautiously, a flash of unfairness crossed her eyes.

The others had the same question, but they didn’t dare ask, afraid of angering this woman and driving her into a frenzy.

Stella Sterling glanced down at her, her expression profound. She murmured, "I have my own use for him. What, are you envious? How about I let you two switch places?"

Looking into her eyes, the woman had a pretty good idea that the man’s fate would not be a pleasant one.

’Come to think of it, I didn’t see him when we escaped yesterday.’

’Could it be...?’

The woman’s mind was already filled with grim speculation. Seeing that Stella Sterling was still watching her, she quickly shook her head. "N-No, that’s alright! I was just asking!"

"Fine, then!" Stella Sterling nodded and went into her apartment.

The group had agreed readily enough, but as soon as Stella Sterling disappeared inside, their faces fell. Staring at the bloodstained, chaotic doorway, they began to worry.

The man’s body was easy to deal with—they could just toss it downstairs and be done with it.

But the bloodstains... how were they supposed to clean that? After all, water was scarce now. They couldn’t possibly use their own supply to wash this.

But if they didn’t deal with it, they would have to face Stella Sterling, and they didn’t dare disobey her.

"Are we just going to let her walk all over us like this?" the young man said resentfully.

Hearing this, the woman with long, wavy hair immediately moved away from him. "Are you trying to get yourself killed? If she hears you, you’ll be the one to face the consequences!"

The man fell silent, glancing back at Stella Sterling’s door with a look of alarm and uncertainty.

After a long moment, seeing no movement from inside Stella Sterling’s apartment, they finally let their guard down.

The woman with long, wavy hair shot him a sideways glance. "What choice do we have but to obey? Didn’t you see how fierce she is? She could destroy a door with a single kick. If she actually kicked our door down, we’d be in even more danger. Our only other option is to get away from her, to leave this complex. But if we leave the complex, we won’t even have a place to stay. We’d have no chance of survival then!"

What the woman said was true. None of the others refuted her; they all remained silent.

Meanwhile, the woman with long, wavy hair kept glancing toward Stella Sterling’s door, her eyes glinting.

’If I could just get with her, I wouldn’t have to worry about my current situation anymore.’

’Not only that, she’s so ferocious. If she could protect me in the future...’

’But from the looks of it, she’s not interested in women. And she doesn’t seem easy to win over. It won’t be easy to make a move.’

Stella Sterling had no idea that she was now being targeted by another woman.

After returning home, she headed straight for the bathroom, took a hot shower, and added some medicinal herbs to the water to completely drive out the last vestiges of chill from her body.

Once she was done, she entered her space and took out her dinner.

She didn’t know what was happening outside, nor did she care. All that mattered was seeing the final result.

She ate while watching a show, and time flew by. Soon, it was around 8 PM.

Seeing that enough time had passed, Stella Sterling cleaned up her dishes and went to open the door.

As expected, the entrance had been cleaned spotless. When people’s lives are on the line, they can come up with endless solutions. As long as they didn’t want to die, they would find a way to clean it up for her.

Not only that, but they had also cleared away the snow that had fallen from the rooftop when she went up there earlier.

Stella Sterling was very satisfied with this result!

Meanwhile, the group was still waiting obediently in the corner. Even after they had finished cleaning outside the door, they hadn’t left.

Instead, they had been waiting by the door, waiting for Stella Sterling’s next command.

Otherwise, if they just left without Stella Sterling saying anything, they didn’t know if she had other instructions. Not only might she call them back, but they would also incur her displeasure and face her wrath. Why would they risk that?

"Very good. It’s clean. You can go back now!"

Stella Sterling waved her hand, signaling that they could leave.

Hearing this, the four of them stared with wide, disbelieving eyes.

It seemed they couldn’t believe she was letting them go so easily!

For a moment, they were all frozen in place, none of them reacting, just staring blankly at Stella Sterling.

Stella Sterling didn’t care about their reaction. After telling them they could leave, she retreated back into her apartment.

The door SLAMMED shut in an instant!

The others looked at each other, finally believing that what she said was true. They were free to go.

And so, without another word, they turned and ran downstairs, their steps light as if they’d been given a new lease on life.

As for the woman with the long, wavy hair, she glanced back in the direction of Stella Sterling’s apartment before leaving.

Her eyes flickered nonstop, as if she were weighing some critical matter!

The man who had also wanted to seduce Stella Sterling was right beside her. Seeing her expression, he sneered, "I’d advise you to give up on whatever you’re planning. That woman on the 28th floor is clearly not right in the head. You’ll never win her over!"

The woman with long, wavy hair shot him a look and said haughtily, "Just because you can’t, that only proves your own incompetence. It doesn’t mean I can’t!"

The man mocked her mercilessly, "Oh yeah? If you’re so capable, why didn’t you win her over before?"

The woman’s face darkened, and she said nothing. She glared at the man beside her. "What does any of this have to do with you?"

"I’m just giving you a friendly warning since we went through this together. Now that Stella Sterling has let us go, we should stay as far away from her as possible. Don’t get involved with her again!"

"Otherwise, there’s no telling if we’ll be lucky enough to escape with our lives next time."
