Stella Sterling hadn’t even spoken yet when the man continued, "Of course, even if Miss Sterling has a husband, I wouldn’t mind!"

The man had started off with a few explosive remarks. The people around them fell silent for a few seconds after hearing this.

A marital alliance? Were these two bases trying to form an alliance through marriage?

But this Miss Sterling was so beautiful and powerful, and her Caeluna Base was also very strong. It was no wonder this man was acting this way.

Everyone looked at Stella Sterling with great curiosity.

’Asking me to be her mistress? Isn’t this woman getting ahead of herself?’

The man in black chuckled lightly and continued, "Of course not. But I think even if Miss Sterling has a husband, he’s not worthy of you. Why don’t you consider leaving your man and coming into my arms?"

"Honestly, if Miss Sterling has a husband, he must be a nobody, since no one has ever heard of him. Furthermore, the fact that you have to handle everything yourself, despite having a man, just proves he’s completely unreliable—the kind of man who can only survive by depending on you."

"How could a man like that be worthy of Miss Sterling? But I’m different. I have the looks, I have the status. I am a perfect match for you, Miss Sterling."

The man spoke with extreme confidence, not once considering how utterly rude and classless it was to belittle someone’s husband to their face.

Stella Sterling just stared at him, her expression completely unmoved by his words.

The man noticed her expression, frowned, and after a moment’s thought, said, "Perhaps Miss Sterling doesn’t know who I am. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Miles Sanctus."

He paused after speaking, waiting to see Stella Sterling’s reaction.

But he found that even after hearing his name, Stella Sterling had no particular reaction. Instead, she just looked at him with some confusion.

In truth, Stella Sterling had no idea who Miles Sanctus was. After all, no one had formally introduced themselves, and all she knew was that everyone invited here was a significant figure.

She had occasionally overheard people addressing each other, but Stella hadn’t been paying attention.

Seeing that Stella Sterling truly seemed not to know who he was, a dark glint flashed in the man’s eyes, but he patiently explained, "I wonder if Miss Sterling has heard of Sanctyr Base? I’m their leader."

He refused to believe that she could still pretend not to know him after he mentioned that name.

After all, his base’s reputation was considerable, no less than that of Meridia Base. How could she possibly not have heard of it?

’Unless she’s just pretending not to know, trying to get my attention.’

When she heard the name "Sanctyr Base," Stella Sterling’s expression did indeed change.

Before now, she had indeed never heard of Sanctyr Base. After all, she didn’t pay much attention to such matters.

Aside from occasionally going out to gather supplies, she spent most of her time in her little villa, studying her personal space and watching TV when she had free time.

Most other matters were left for Stephen Lawrence and Shane Lawrence to handle. Besides the bases in the immediate vicinity and those she already knew about, she didn’t really follow the others.

But she had been hearing a lot about this Sanctyr Base recently.

Just this morning, she had taught a lesson to a group of people from Sanctyr Base.

And now, their leader was standing in front of her, wanting to form a marital alliance.

’What a coincidence!’

’Come to think of it, last time in the Kryllian Mountains, I saw this man. That was also where Shane Lawrence and the others were attacked by people from Sanctyr Base.’

So there was no mistake about his identity.

Now she understood why the people from Sanctyr Base acted so arrogantly and unscrupulously out in the world.

Stella Sterling temporarily reined in her thoughts. She took a few more steps back and looked at him with a half-smile. "To be honest with you, I don’t have a husband."

Hearing this, Miles Sanctus was even more pleased. ’No husband. Even better.’

’Although I’m mainly interested in the power she holds and want to annex it, I can overlook whether she’s been with other men.’

’But it’s even better if she doesn’t have a husband. A woman with her status and beauty is just about worthy of me.’

’In the future, I suppose I’ll allow her to stay by my side.’

Stella Sterling didn’t know what he was thinking, but she saw a satisfied smile form on his lips after hearing her words, as if he were about to say something else.

Stella Sterling waved her hand, cutting him off. "An alliance through marriage isn’t impossible. But first, let me lay out my conditions. I don’t want a husband who neglects his home—that would affect our relationship. So, if you really want to marry me, you’ll have to hand over your base for me to manage. Can you accept those terms?"
