A muffled sound suddenly came from a three-story building not far away. The heavy report of a sniper rifle was like a sledgehammer blow, striking straight into people’s hearts.

The floating car lowered its altitude and swept over the square. At some point, a figure had leaped out, landing on the rooftop of a nearby building.

The highly penetrative sniper round hit the concrete wall, blasting out a cloud of debris.

Lu Chao’s feet still didn’t stop. He resumed his straight-line advance, neither fast nor slow, rapidly closing in on the balcony.

Witnessing this, the man still didn’t retreat.

Instead, his face was expressionless as he worked the bolt and pulled the trigger again.

A fist that could shatter stone came crashing in from the right.

Blood sprayed. The warlord sniper let out a muffled grunt of pain, his face turning pale. His right hand fell limp, and the pistol dropped to the floor.

With a CLATTER.

Lu Chao seized the opportunity and stepped forward. His left hand shot out like a dragon’s claw and grabbed the man’s neck.

"What... was that you just said?"

He stared directly into the man’s eyes, hidden behind the night-vision goggles, his expression cold as he hoisted him up like a rag doll.

The warlord sniper’s mouth hung slightly open, veins pulsing on his face as he fought back the pain. His left hand stealthily reached for another pistol behind his back.

"I..."

CRACK!

Lu Chao’s hand tightened, fracturing the man’s neck.

His head, no longer supported, lolled to one side. The professional-grade sniper was dead, his body slowly growing cold.
