Achieving Demon Godhood from Unlocking Talents

With a calm gaze, Lu Chao watched his opponent’s blood-soaked left hand fall limp.

He had to admit, the man had put him under considerable pressure—far more than the warlord leader he had killed earlier. The man had pushed his firearm skills to their absolute limit.

But once he got in close, the outcome was already sealed.

PLOP.

Lu Chao tossed the body aside and looked down at the plaza below.

The chaotic battle was still raging, but the sound of gunfire was dwindling.

And then he saw why.

THUD!!

A muffled boom erupted, and the resulting shockwave spread like a storm.

Two figures, like humanoid beasts, repeatedly clashed. Brown gravel erupted with each impact, shockwaves rippling outward in circles and blasting the surroundings.

The expert from the Superpower Bureau, wreathed in a white and yellow Qi Flame, had changed the tide of battle. His every move unleashed immense power that made the air crackle and scattered the yellow sand. The plaza ground trembled nonstop as his attacks blasted one shallow crater after another into existence.

Opposite him, the superhuman who seemed able to control sand was just as terrifying. With a casual lift of his hand, he could gather the yellow sand within a ten-meter radius, shaping it into arrows that shot through the air, pythons that lunged to kill, or a solid shield to block attacks.

The two were locked in a stalemate. The surrounding warlord soldiers and the members of the supply convoy had all instinctively ceased fire, pulling back to a safe distance on either side.

The stalemate ended with one last, muffled explosion.

BOOM!!

Yellow sand sprayed across more than half of the open plaza.

An invisible shockwave swept across the ground like a gale. Both figures slid back several steps, the ground CRACKLING under their feet as new, shallow craters were blasted into the earth.

"Very good."

A cold glint flashed across Mo Li’s aged face. He stared intently at the Superpower Bureau expert opposite him, his gaze seeming to encompass the barracks building behind the man as well.

Then, as if having made a decision, he suppressed his reluctance and waved his hand sharply.

"Move out!"

WHIR!

The moment he spoke, the yellow sand scattered across the ground began to swirl violently.

It was like a sudden sandstorm as a fierce wind kicked up, sweeping the gravel into blinding clouds.

Everyone’s vision was obscured. They could only hear the continuous roar of engines rapidly fading into the distance.

Even Lu Chao, watching from the building above, found the stinging sand blurring his vision and felt a bit of discomfort.

"After them!"

A moment later, the leading expert from the Superpower Bureau roared and threw a sudden punch.

His white and yellow Martial Arts Flame shot out like a cannonball, forcefully blasting a hole through the bizarre sandstorm that had cut off half the plaza.

He quickly barked out a series of orders. Some team members gave chase to the warlord’s forces, while others were left behind to care for the wounded and guard the convoy.

The roar of engines was incessant, and soon after, the sound of continuous gunfire erupted just outside of Black Water Town.

Witnessing this, Lu Chao stood on the short building and remained silent for a moment.

Once all the sounds had faded into the distance, he scanned his surroundings again.

Black Water Town was a complete mess. The people hiding in the shelters within the old buildings, their faces pale with terror, carefully lifted their tarps to peek outside and survey the situation.

Down in the open plaza, which was now a war-torn landscape of pits and craters.

Walls had collapsed, and the ground was a dense web of cracks.

Several charred SUVs and jeeps lay scattered about. Some were overturned with their chassis to the sky, others were twisted heaps of metal, their surfaces still smoldering with embers.

And nearby...

Many of the convoy guards had been badly wounded. Some had been shot in the thigh and were bleeding profusely, others had broken bones or severed limbs. There were even those who had been hit by shrapnel, their waists and backs a bloody mess of mangled flesh.

In an instant, the convoy’s medics rushed back and forth, their movements hurried.

The small-scale battle was over, but for some reason, Lu Chao felt a heavy weight in his heart.
