Draco walked toward the armoury cabinet and picked out a few weapons. He shot a sharp glance at the girls tied up in the corner, still whimpering quietly amongst themselves, "Don’t make a sound, if that bastard finds us, I’ll kill you all first and don’t think of stepping out of here while I’m out"

They each huddled up together, tightening their lips with their hands in fear, while nodding their heads shakily.

Draco felt a bittersweet taste in his mouth as he looked at them, ’They’re not even good for business. That bastard just uses us to handle all the dirty work.’ Draco thought, letting out a resigned sigh. He wasn’t actually going to kill them, but he just had to make sure nothing ruined his plans.

’They’re a few rooms before mine, so it’ll take him sometime to get here, before then... I’ll prepare for him’ His expression darkened at the thought.

It had been a while before he had to hold weapons like this, but he was confident in his ability.

Nicholas and Selena moved through the narrow passageway cautiously. The brothel itself was only a two-story building and honestly didn’t stand out much.

If Nicholas had to guess, this probably wasn’t even their real headquarters.

Selena hurried after him while staying alert, occasionally using her taser to put down guards they encountered along the way.

And not too far away....

Vixen calmly followed behind their trail. For some reason, she couldn’t get Nicholas out of her mind. She was genuinely curious about this strange new hero she’d never heard of before.

’Is he from some special unit among the supervisors?’

A lot of things didn’t make sense to her. She still hadn’t seen him use any actual ability... or maybe he had, and she simply couldn’t tell what it was.

She wasn’t worried about being noticed.

With her ability to manipulate space itself, bending the light around her body was simple. To the naked eye, she was practically invisible.

However, she still kept a safe distance from Nicholas. After all, he’d somehow managed to sense her presence earlier while she stood atop the skyscraper.

Just as they were about to reach the second floor, the speaker in her ear suddenly crackled to life.

"Vixen! Where are you? The media is right outside and it seems you’ve already started the operation without orders!"

Vixen paused in her track, "I didn’t commence any operation. A supervisor stepped in with a hero and they are already dealing with the situation" Vixen replied back with annoyance flashing beneath her mask.

"What’s with these excuses?! This isn’t what we pay you for, Vixen. Goodness. Hang around and finish the job if you have to. The media won’t care about some street-level hero, only your face matters. So get out there and farm some fans."

Vixen’s face scrunched up in annoyance, but she bit down on her frustration.

"Yes sir," she replied reluctantly.

"Since they’ve already started the operation, try to find the Impure and deal with it. The masses love hearing about Impures getting defeated."

Vixen angrily turned off the speaker.

’Just a while longer... and I’ll have enough money to take care of mom. Then I won’t have to listen to these bastards anymore.’

Her gaze lingered on Nicholas and Selena for a few seconds longer before the space around her bent slightly, causing her figure to disappear.

Nicholas glanced at the stairway from the side of his eyes, ’Someone’s following us?’ his brows furrowed in caution as he looked behind.

"You should slow down, you’re walking as though you know the entire place...." Selena said, her breath hurried as she was doing her best to keep up with his pace.

He was walking, but it felt as though he was running, ’How did he become so fast in such a short time’ She thought, breathless.

Nicholas’s gaze lingered at the stairway for a while longer, ’If the person hasn’t attacked all this time.. then they can’t be an enemy’ he thought, shifting his gaze away, but keeping a mental note.

"Supervisor, someone is watching us with the cameras. If I’m not mistaken, they’ll know what we’re here for and from the looks of things, they don’t want to talk to us... The more time we spend scurrying around, the more time they have to prepare for us, we don’t want to give our enemies such luxury do we?" Nicholas asked, stopping by another door.

"You sound re—"

BANG!

Nicholas kicked the door open.

Inside, a half-dressed man and woman scrambled in panic trying to pull their clothes back on.

Selena choked on her words, as her eyes met the scene.

Nicholas stared at them for exactly one second before calmly continuing down the hallway like nothing happened.

"I’m sorry," Selena managed to say, before quickly following behind him, whispering in a low voice, "You idiot, you’re in a brothel or did you forget that... You don’t just barge into rooms"

"I’m also on a mission. I need to find the security room," Nicholas replied calmly before kicking down another door.

This time, the girl was underneath the table between the man’s legs. The two jolted, startled by the sudden entrance, Selena looked at the two, just as shocked as they were and while she stood in a daze, Nicholas moved onward.

"Sorry" Selena said with an awkward smile as she quickly caught up to Nicholas, holding him by the helm of his coat.

"Stop breaking into private rooms, God... Aren’t you bothered by what you’ll see?! My goodness"

"If you’re horny, Supervisor Selena, you could use a room"

""You—!" Selena smacked him with the butt of her taser.

"Ouch. Supervisor, that hurt," Nicholas complained while rubbing the back of his head.

"I’m not a pervert like you! Don’t you dare say that again, or I’ll break your head open!" Selena yelled.

Nicholas let out a resigned sigh, "Understood Supervisor, am I permitted to break into the last door?"

They were just a few steps away from the end of the passageway and he could see the camera staring at him from there.

Selena shifted her gaze to the door a few more steps away from them, "Well you’ve already done that to all the other doors, there’s no point stopping now! Tsk" she complained rubbing her forehead, "let’s get this over with... What’s that smell"

Just as the two were speaking, something rolled to a stop in front of Nicholas’ legs.

A small metallic ball.

Selena blinked. "What’s th—"

Nicholas’ eyes widened instantly.

"Supervisor!" He grabbed her arm sharply—

FLASH!

Blinding white light exploded through the hallway.
