Wizard: My Skills Can Infinitely Break Through

Latour stared at the Potion, his eyes turning red.

"And this one..."

Ian picked up the violet-colored Crystal Tube. The liquid within swirled slowly, as if it were alive.

"[Dream Potion], a Tier One Spiritual Type balancing Magic Potion."

"After taking it, your Will will be forced into a strange dream where you become a Rock Armor Demon Bear."

"The mental burden is minimal, though you will experience some memory interference for a few days after. There’s also a chance you’ll awaken the Rock Armor Demon Bear’s Talent."

He placed the two Potions side by side on the desk.

"The Limit-Breaking Edition of the [Rock Bear Potion] can push your body beyond mortal limits, allowing you to reach..."

"...a level close to that of a weakened Level One Wizard."

Latour’s pupils contracted violently, his heart beginning to pound in his chest.

Ian looked at his father and said, word by word,

"If you use both Potions together, there is an extremely high probability you will awaken a bloodline Talent."

"Not only will you be able to cast Witchcraft-like abilities, but your physical constitution, reaction speed, and Perception will far surpass those of any Great Knight. Your lifespan will also be greatly extended."

The only sound in the study was the CRACKLE of firewood in the hearth.

Latour sat in his chair, his body as tense as a block of iron.

His hands gripped the edge of the desk, his knuckles white and bloodless. The veins on the back of his hands bulged as if they were about to burst.

His breathing stopped for a moment, then grew ragged and heavy.

His chest heaved violently, his shoulders trembling slightly.

His eyes were fixed on the two Potions on the desk, like a wolf that had starved for three days finally seeing meat.

Or like a man who had wandered the desert for half his life at last laying eyes on an oasis.

’A weakened Level One Wizard!’

’A greatly extended lifespan.’

These two phrases echoed in his mind, making his ears ring.

He was in his fifties. As a Great Knight, he could hold on for another twenty years.

’But what about after those twenty years? What about the family? What about my wife? What about those prowling jackals waiting to pounce?’

But now, his son was telling him that by taking these two Potions, he could not only protect the family but lead it to greater heights.

He could live longer, see his grandchildren grow up, and witness the family truly flourish.

"HUFF... HUFF..."

Latour’s breathing grew heavier. He shot to his feet, the chair screeching as it slid backward.

He circled the desk twice, his steps quick and heavy.

Then he stopped before the window, his back to Ian, his shoulders trembling.

Ian said nothing, giving him time to process.

After a full minute, Latour turned around.

His eyes were red, not from the verge of tears, but from a suppressed ecstasy and excitement that had finally burst forth.

"When can I use them?" His voice was terribly hoarse.

"Not right now," Ian said, shaking his head.

"These are both Tier One Potions. The Energy is too potent. Your body needs to be conditioned first."

He took a leather pouch from his Ring, pouring out a dozen pre-packaged bags of herbs and three small Crystal Bottles.

"This is a formula to nourish your body and expand your Energy Passages. Brew it according to the instructions and take it once in the morning and once at night for seven consecutive days."

"After seven days, I will test your physical fortitude and mental state to see if you can withstand the impact of the Potions."

"The process will be extremely arduous, so you must be mentally prepared. Of course, I will be here to watch over you."

Latour took the herbs, his fingers trembling as they touched the packets.

He carefully gathered the packets, cradling them as if they were fragile treasures.

"Then these..." He glanced at the twenty controlled-edition [Rock Bear] Potions in the case.

"That is for you to decide," Ian said. "Who to give them to, how many to use, and how many to keep as the family’s foundation—it’s all up to you."

"I suggest you consider Vincent, Andrei, my two sisters, and a few loyal family Knights."

"As for Mother, I will also arrange for her to take one to extend her life and improve her health."

He closed the case and pushed it in front of Latour. "You should keep the case. I have the Magic Stones to fill it."

He poured a small pile of standard Magic Stones from his Ring, at least two hundred of them, onto the desk.

Latour looked at the pile of crystal-clear Magic Stones, then at the case, and finally at his son’s calm face.

He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but his throat felt blocked, and no sound came out.

He walked back behind the desk, slowly sat down, and pulled the case toward him, his fingers stroking its smooth Metal surface.

Then he looked up at Ian, his expression one of utter complexity.

There was pride, gratitude, shock...

...and the relief and ecstasy of an old noble who, after sacrificing everything, had finally received an astronomical return.

"Ian," he said, his voice raspy. "The family... will absolutely live up to your Intent."

"I know," Ian said, standing up.

"I’ll stay here for the next few days. I’ll head back to the High Tower after you’ve started taking the medicine and I’ve seen you through the process." 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

He walked to the door, then paused and turned back. "By the way, after I killed all those people, the Royal Capital will probably send someone to make contact in a few days. You handle it. I don’t want to see them."

With that, he pushed the door open and left.

Only Latour remained in the study.

He sat in his chair, staring at the case and the Magic Stones on the desk for a long, long time.

Then he reached out, opened the case, and once again saw the neatly arranged Potions inside.

His hand caressed the Limit-Breaking Edition [Rock Bear] Potion, the cool touch of the Crystal Tube against his fingertips.

’A weakened Level One Wizard.’

’This is Extraordinary Power that can be passed down through the bloodline! In the future, the family will have more and more seeds for Wizards!’

He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and then slowly exhaled.

When he opened his eyes again, they held nothing but a nearly feral determination.

’The Marcus Clan, starting today, will truly rise.’

And it was all because his son had returned.

He leaned back in his chair, looked at the ceiling, and suddenly let out a laugh.

The laugh was suppressed at first, then grew louder and louder, finally becoming a hearty, unrestrained roar of laughter.

For how many years had he guarded that worthless mine, dealing with those jackals, humbling himself, holding back and giving ground, all so he could send his son twenty Magic Stones each month?

Everyone had called him a fool for betting the family’s entire fortune on a son who might never amount to anything.

Now, his son was back.

He had returned with Potions that could change the family’s destiny, with the hope that would allow him to break through mortal limits.

Latour’s laughter gradually subsided. He wiped his face and found his palm was wet.

He didn’t care.

He picked up the Limit-Breaking Edition of the [Rock Bear Potion] and held it up to the light.

Within the Dark Gold liquid, the "magma" swirled slowly, as if it were alive.

"Just wait," he said in a low voice, as if talking to himself, or perhaps making a promise to someone.

"In seven days, I will show everyone what true Power is."

Outside the window, the sun was bright and the breeze was gentle.

But Latour knew that from this day forward, his life, and the future of the entire Marcus Clan, would be changed forever.

And it all began with that one seemingly reckless decision he had made all those years ago.
