###Chapter 36: Let’s Get a Divorce, Okay?
In the presidential suite, Aiden Xavier gently placed Hazel Hawthorne on the bed. But Hazel’s hands restlessly roamed over his body. She even took advantage of his distraction to slip a hand inside his shirt, touching his scorching skin.
Aiden Xavier’s powerful frame trembled. He quickly grabbed Hazel’s hand and gently patted her cheek with his other. Her cheeks were flushed, her body was burning up, and when she opened her eyes, her gaze was hazy.
Aiden Xavier’s expression was more terrifying than the King of Hell’s. Seeing Hazel try to struggle free, he forcefully pinned her hands down on either side of her, asking in a low voice, "Do you know who I am?"
Hazel’s mind and body were disconnected. She couldn’t see the person in front of her clearly, relying only on a familiar scent. But her consciousness had been seized by a strange desire, making it impossible for her to think calmly.
She bit her lip hard, subconsciously trying to clear her head. But the drug was too strong. She had never felt like this before, so completely out of control. She kept trying to restrain herself, but the situation was only spiraling further.
When Hazel didn’t answer, Aiden Xavier assumed she hadn’t recognized him. His eyes instantly turned cold. He hauled her up and strode to the bathroom, roughly tossing her into the bathtub. He turned on the shower, and icy water instantly soaked her from head to toe.
The shock of the cold water did nothing to calm Hazel down. She thrashed in the tub, struggling and grabbing at anything she could reach. She was completely unaware that she looked like a madwoman.
Tossing Hazel into the water was no way to counteract the aphrodisiac in her system.
The doctor Aiden Xavier had called arrived half an hour later. By then, Aiden was soaked, with several scratch marks on his face and body. The doctor didn’t dare say a word.
Seeing the person on the bed tied up securely, the corner of the doctor’s mouth couldn’t help but twitch.
To prevent Hazel from screaming, Aiden Xavier had also "thoughtfully" gagged her with tissues.
"Young Master Xavier, I’ve already given your wife a sedative. There was really no need to tie her up."
Aiden Xavier shot him a cold look. "All you need to do right now is neutralize the drug in her system. Cut the chatter."
The doctor fell silent and focused on counteracting the drug’s effects on Hazel.
After a tumultuous night, Hazel finally fell into a peaceful sleep a little after five in the morning. The warm air in the room had nearly dried Aiden Xavier’s soaked clothes. He sat on the nearby sofa, his eyes fixed on the unconscious Hazel.
The only sound in the silent room was the ticking of the clock on the wall.
Aiden Xavier looked at the cut on the corner of Hazel’s lip, then at the marks on her wrists and ankles, his feelings a complex turmoil.
Before leaving, the doctor had told him that if it weren’t for Hazel’s formidable willpower—how she’d kept digging her nails into her thighs—the drug, left unpurged in her system for so long, would have already killed her.
Aiden Xavier watched the flush slowly recede from Hazel’s face and couldn’t resist reaching out to caress it. But as if sensing something in her sleep, Hazel’s brows instantly furrowed in a look of profound rejection.
He immediately dropped his hand. He thought about what would have happened to Hazel a few hours ago if he hadn’t arrived in time. She would have been defiled. And knowing Hazel’s character, if she were defiled, she would definitely choose to die.
Nothing had ever made Aiden Xavier feel such lingering fear.
And no one had ever made Aiden Xavier so terrified for their safety.
If he hadn’t told Hazel to come to the bar, if he had chased after her the moment she ran out, maybe none of this would have happened.
Hazel wouldn’t have been taken, wouldn’t have been drugged, wouldn’t have been violated.
After a long while, seeing that Hazel was still, Aiden Xavier finally got up and left the room, heading next door.
Without Aiden Xavier’s order, no one dared to let the man on the floor get up, nor would they send him to a hospital. Even as he groaned in agony, no one paid him any mind.
When Aiden Xavier entered, the man’s nerves, which had slackened slightly from the pain, tensed up again. He watched Aiden in terror. Aiden walked over, stomped on his thigh, and a wretched howl instantly echoed through the room.
Aiden Xavier slowly moved his foot inward. The man, drenched in a cold sweat, trembled and begged for mercy. Any further and it would be his manhood. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
As expected, Aiden Xavier suddenly stopped. He looked down, sneering at the man. "Don’t what?"
"Young Master Xavier, I know I was wrong! Please, spare my worthless life! I’ll never do it again."
"Spare your worthless life?" When Aiden Xavier wasn’t smiling, he merely gave off a ’keep your distance’ vibe. But when he smiled, he was a bloodthirsty demon. He lifted his foot. Seeing this, the man breathed a sigh of relief, but only for an instant.
After an unearthly shriek, the man on the floor passed out from the pain.
The spot where he lay was a pool of blood mixed with urine. Aiden Xavier looked away in disgust and ordered his men to dump him on the side of the road to fend for himself.
「The next day.」
Hazel slowly opened her eyes, staring blankly at the ceiling above. Her mind was a chaotic jumble of fragmented images, but she remembered being brought to a hotel. She remembered the greasy man who had lunged at her.
She remembered struggling desperately, only to be pinned beneath him in the end.
The man’s lecherous expression, his triumphant smirk—it was a nightmare that clung to Hazel.
She threw back the covers and saw that she was in a fresh set of clothes. A numbness washed over her. Her gaze was vacant, her face pale as she slowly got out of bed.
Standing barefoot on the ice-cold floor, her whole body ached as if it had been run over by a car. She looked at her bandaged wrists and ankles and couldn’t stop the tears from falling.
She silently walked to the window and opened it. A sudden gust of wind rushed in, and Hazel felt a bone-chilling cold.
The door opened, and footsteps sounded from behind her.
Hazel didn’t know who it was. She didn’t even turn her head, assuming it was her attacker. ’I don’t want to burn the face of the person who hurt me into my memory. It would be a lifelong nightmare.’
Seeing Hazel standing by the open window, Aiden Xavier thought she was about to jump. He lunged forward, pulled her back, and snarled, "If you want to die, don’t do it here."
Hearing Aiden Xavier’s voice, Hazel finally opened her eyes. Tears streamed down her face as she stared intently at him, not speaking for a long time.
’My clothes have been changed... So what happened last night was real?’
’So it wasn’t a dream!’
Her heart was filled with despair. Even seeing Aiden Xavier here, her expression remained unchanged, her eyes lifeless.
"Why are you here?"
"I’ve been here the whole time. I just stepped out to take a call."
Hazel looked into Aiden Xavier’s eyes, her mind replaying the events of last night. She didn’t know when he had arrived or if he had seen her in that wretched state. She had no idea how she could ever face him again.
Noticing something was off, Aiden Xavier grew worried. "What’s wrong with you?"
"I’m fine. I’m just tired. I probably didn’t sleep well last night." Hazel was far too calm. Just as Aiden Xavier was about to speak, she said with sudden seriousness, "Aiden Xavier, let’s get a divorce, okay?"
