Alex offered Gu Ning the food he had just taken from the other Beastman. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Gu Ning was speechless. ’Are you serious?’

Seeing that Alex’s expression wasn’t a joke and that he was genuinely asking, she picked up the large chicken leg that the Beastman hadn’t bitten into yet.

"I had lunch prepared for you." Alex glanced at the terminal on his wrist. "I’m heading up to the wall first. After you eat, rest for a bit. Kloer will take you up to the wall at one this afternoon."

Alex continued, "Kloer is the supervisor you check in with every day. Will you be okay with him? He came here with me from Zone 5. He’s a good guy, so you don’t have to worry about him bullying you."

After listening, Gu Ning hesitantly nodded.

’This Beastman supervisor is actually okay,’ she thought. ’He let it slide the few times I was late and never gave me a hard time.’

Alex watched Gu Ning go into the inner room before turning to leave.

「The office.」

Kloer was scrolling through videos of the latest virtual female when he heard a noise at the door. He looked up and saw the little Mixed Breed who was always late, walking toward him with a large chicken leg in his hand.

Although he couldn’t see his face, he recognized his build.

There were quite a few Dwarf hybrids on this construction site, and he was the smallest of them all.

It was rare to see an adult Dwarf hybrid that small.

Gu Ning saw that Kloer was sitting in the spot where she usually studied. On the desk was the lunch Alex had mentioned.

She had no choice but to walk up to him.

’It’s probably best not to talk to him at all,’ she thought, ’to avoid any future trouble I’d have to deal with.’

So, she just picked up the bowl of rice, scanned the office, and immediately ducked under another desk to start eating.

Kloer, who had been watching his every move, was left speechless.

’Not even a simple hello? And here I thought we were already pretty familiar with each other.’

Kloer wanted to call out to him, but then he remembered the boss’s instructions and held his tongue.

’Forget it. Whatever.’

’Dwarf hybrids are neurotic. It’d be a pain if he suddenly lashed out at me.’

Kloer went back to scrolling through videos of the new virtual female.

For the past two days, videos from a virtual blogger named [Gu Demiao Ning] had been going viral. There were discussions on every website, and he’d even come across them despite not usually watching virtual females.

At first, he’d thought it was just another money-grabbing gimmick from some film company, or that the Beastmen who were fans of virtual Beast Females were just overhyping it.

But then he clicked on one.

He was shocked.

Kloer had seen real Beast Females in Zone 5, so he knew the difference between virtual and real ones.

Even though the videos only showed her back and side profile, he felt she was incredibly close to a real person. Even her surroundings looked like they were from a live-action shoot.

If [Gu Demiao Ning]’s personal bio didn’t explicitly state that she was a virtual character blogger, he would have believed she was real. No wonder her videos were so popular.

Even the best film companies could create virtual Beast Females that were close to real, but none could compare to the unique, lifelike quality of the little female in these three videos.

Kloer was getting a little addicted. This virtual female was exactly his type.

He was in the comments section, passionately discussing with other Beastmen what role Gu Demiao Ning would play in her next video.

The previous night, Gu Demiao Ning had posted images of several different clans under her video teaser. The smarter Beastmen had already guessed that she was probably going to release different virtual characters.

The comment section was now split into two camps: half wanted Gu Demiao Ning to continue making videos with the original little female character, while the other half supported the creation of new Beast Female characters.

Kloer supported the former.

He replied: [He hid under the desk to eat as soon as he came in. It’s like he’s afraid I’ll steal his food.]

Alex: [Try to communicate with him. Use a gentle approach and record all his reactions.]

Kloer was confused: [Boss, are you serious about taking him under your wing? Aren’t we going back to Zone 5 after winter? Are you planning to take him back with you?]

A moment later, Alex’s reply came: [Yes. He is very useful to me. Get along with him and earn his trust.]

Kloer: [I actually think he’s pretty easy to get along with. His personality is better than the average Dwarf hybrid.]

Alex: [He’s very vigilant. Stop scrolling through virtual female videos and go talk to him.]

Kloer: "..."

[Boss, how did you know I was watching virtual female videos?! Are you watching that little female too?]

After a long pause, Alex replied: [I’d advise you to watch less of it. Better yet, don’t watch it at all.]

Kloer just assumed Alex was rushing him to get to work.

He reluctantly turned off his terminal and got up, walking toward the other desk.

Gu Ning finished the large bowl of braised pork and rice, which was mixed with a fragrant, rich gravy, and let out a satisfied burp.

Gu Ning had nearly jumped out of her skin in fright. ’Does this guy not make any sound when he walks?!’

She quickly scrambled out from under the desk, putting distance between herself and Kloer.

Kloer had been hit hard, and his good mood for the day was completely shattered. He pointed at her and shouted, "You! You, don’t run! Get back here!"
