Principal Patrick bowed respectfully as Xander Emerson walked out of his office.

But the moment they stepped outside, Taylor could not hold back his question.

"Boss, why did you spare Nate’s homeroom teacher?" he asked, walking alongside Xander until they reached the car.

Just as Xander was about to step in, he paused.

"Because Patrick is going to handle him."

With that, he got into the car.

Taylor tilted his head, clearly confused. But instead of questioning further, he simply shrugged it off and slid into the passenger seat beside the driver.

For a moment, he leaned back in his chair, trying to steady his breathing.

"Mister Thorne, is everything alright at the school?" Gavin’s voice was calm, but the meaning beneath his words was clear to the man on the other end.

"Mr. Emerson, you need to save me. I am being fired from my job without any warning," Mister Thorne cried.

Gavin raised a brow, taken aback by the sound of a grown man nearly breaking down. "What are you saying, Mister Thorne? Why would they fire you?" he asked, keeping his tone steady.

Mister Thorne was not just Nate’s teacher but also Gavin’s informant, someone who kept him updated on everything happening within the school.

Fully aware of his son’s indecent behavior and his habit of bullying not only Leo but other students as well, Gavin had relied on Mister Thorne to keep things under control.

Whenever complaints surfaced, Mister Thorne would quietly inform Gavin, and the matter would be handled outside the academy without anyone suspecting a thing.

Hearing that assurance, relief flooded through Mister Thorne. Without hesitation, he began recounting everything that had happened in the principal’s office.

Clement Thorne knocked on the door before stepping inside. The moment he noticed Principal Patrick’s expression shift from cold to composed, his intuition immediately picked up on it.

Still, he maintained his calm and walked forward.

"You called me, Principal Patrick?" he asked with a polite smile.

"Yes, Mr. Thorne. Please, have a seat," Patrick said, his tone even, though the look in his eyes made Clement uneasy.

Principal Patrick was known for always carrying a friendly smile, maintaining good relations with everyone in the school. But only a few knew there was a thin line between that warmth and the cold authority beneath it.

Fortunately, over the years, Clement had managed to stay on his good side. He had always believed that when Patrick eventually retired, he would recommend him as the next principal.

Clement hesitated for a second before opening the envelope. The moment his eyes landed on the first line of the document, the color drained from his face.

"Principal Patrick... w-what is this?" he stammered, fear creeping into his voice.

What unsettled him even more was the change in Patrick’s expression. The smile was gone.

In its place was something cold.

"You failed at your job, Clement," Patrick said flatly. "And now you are being dismissed. Pack your things while I am still being reasonable and leave the school."

Clement trembled, panic taking over as tears welled up in his eyes.

"Principal Patrick, what have I done wrong?" he pleaded. "I... I have always been responsible with my duties toward the students."

Patrick’s gaze hardened further.

"Then tell me," he cut in sharply, "why was I not informed that Nate has been bullying Leo?"

Clement froze.

"Do you think that does not fall under your responsibility as a teacher?" Patrick continued, his voice steady but cutting. "Or have you simply chosen to ignore it?"

Clement did not need time to think. The moment Patrick mentioned Leo’s name, everything became clear.

What he had believed he was handling carefully was no longer hidden.

A faint smirk tugged at Patrick’s lips when he saw Clement go completely still. It was clear his words had landed exactly where they were meant to.
