The Unlimited Ascension: Reborn as an Extra

As Alen entered the Dimensional gate from the void, a wave of dizziness hit him due to the sudden change in the environment.

​When he teleported inside the Ascension realm, the first thing he felt was the heavy pull of gravity and the rushing air. His body cut through the wind pressure, falling toward the ground with increasing speed, which felt like falling like a meteor.

​He quickly tried to suppress his descending speed by using the Wind element. However, his efforts were completely useless because the dizziness from the transfer disturbed his senses.

​"Hahahaha... It seems my troublesome life won’t allow me even a single moment of peace," he laughed bitterly.

​[Hey, coat your body with mana or your body will break down...] Ravena warned in his mind.

​Before he could react properly, Alen’s body fell to the ground at lightning speed. He was unable to do much to stop the impact.

​*BOOOOOM!*

​As he landed heavily on the terrain, a massive cloud of dust covered the field, sending a small-scale explosion echoing across the area, as soil and debris from the ground fall across the places.

​Alen lay on the ground for a long moment. He had several cuts and wounds across his body, but thankfully his bones didn’t break.

​’Sigh... It seems this is the result of my ’Celestial Body’. It is fortunate that my physical structure held together,’ he thought with relief.

​He looked at the unfamiliar location where he had been summoned for the trial. Suddenly, his system notification rang out.

​[Location: The Broken City] 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

[Trial: Kill the Ghost of the Dark Temple]

[Time Limit: 2 Days]

​"Okay, it seems I have definitely entered the Ascension realm," he muttered.

​Looking around, he noticed a person standing a short distance away. It was a guy wearing a cloak, having pitch-black hair and striking violet eyes.

​He looked unnervingly familiar.

​"Hey, are you that guy ’L’ from the Vale City tournament? I didn’t expect you to be here..." Alen called out. He recognized the guy immediately; this was the person who handed him his first defeat in the tournament. Because of L, Alen had lost thousands in prize money he should have gained. He had marked L as a rival to overcome.

​Alen already knew this guy was several times stronger than him. Even during the tournament, Alen felt that L hadn’t used half his true power in their fight.

​Just as Alen stepped forward to ask about their current location, the situation shifted.

​"You will regret wasting my time, Ghost! Prepare to die!" the guy shouted.

​Alen felt his survival instincts scream in danger. L vanished from his spot and stepped directly behind Alen, his sharp silver glowing sword resting mere inches away.

​Alen didn’t wait and dodged.

​[Phantom Step!]

​The sword only cut through the empty air where Alen had stood a fraction of a second prior. Silver light swirled around the space, erasing the afterimage.

​"What the hell are you doing?!" Alen yelled.

​L stepped forward, staring at him with cold eyes.

​"Just shut up, you filthy Ghost! I am tired of searching for you. Now prepare to die, you wretched being!"

​L channeled his mana and launched himself forward. His speed was terrifying. Alen could see that the guy hadn’t used any movement art; it was pure physical speed, making the assault even more dangerous.

​As L appeared in front of him again, Alen stopped waiting.

​He channeled a large amount of mana into his hand and thrust his punch forward to intercept the attack.

​[Maximum Concentration: Overload Punch!]

​*BOOOOOOM!*

​As the sword and the punch clashed against each other, the resulting air pressure destroyed the ground beneath them and sent surrounding debris flying away.

​Neither person backed down.

​L narrowed his eyes as he glared at Alen.

​"You seem to also copy his attacks. I didn’t know if that was possible, but you will regret messing with me."

​As he spoke, the silver light became denser, cutting through Alen’s defensive mana with ease. Alen didn’t get the time to react or even summon his own sword. Operating on instinct, he stepped backward.

​The sword slashed diagonally, aiming to sever his body in half.

​A massive diagonal slash cut across Alen’s chest. He stumbled backward as blood sprayed from the wound.

​*Thud!* *Cough!* *Cough!*

​"Ughh!..."

​Alen fell to the ground, coughing up blood. The deep wound leaked blood from his chest, and his face turned pale. The silver light had sliced through a body that had just survived a fall from the sky unbroken.

​"You—!"

​L looked at the blood-covered boy. For a second, he stood there in shock, watching the red blood leak from the wound. His violet eyes trembled as realization hit him; he had misunderstood the situation. Ghosts in this realm did not bleed like humans.

​His sword vanished into the air as he rushed forward and looked at Alen with a worried expression.

​"Hey, I am sorry. I didn’t know you were real. I thought you were the ghost monster. I didn’t expect a real person to appear in this place out of nowhere... I am sorry, this is all my fault."

​"I am sorry. I am sorry. I am sorry..." L rambled, panic lacing his voice.

​"Tch! Just shut up! Stop talking and help me!" Alen snapped.

​L’s eyes dilated in panic. He quickly summoned a high-grade healing potion from his storage ring.

​A golden, glowing liquid appeared in a glass vial.

​He forced the bottle to Alen’s mouth. Alen’s eyes widened, but he drank the potion.

​*Cough!* *Cough!*

​Once he swallowed the liquid, his body started to release steam, and the wound began healing. The high-grade potion stopped the bleeding. However, the diagonal scar formed by the silver light remained across his chest.

​Alen took a ragged breath and lay flat on the ground as his consciousness slipped away.

​The silver-haired boy lay there, still breathing, but his journey remained the same. Trouble and difficulties were bound to him for life.
