As the monster lay completely forced under Alen’s will, he thought the beast was finally subdued. For a second, nothing happened. But then...
The monster’s body started to disintegrate into crimson light. Alen felt his connection with the magical imprint on the summon sever completely.
"What the hell? Why is the monster disintegrating now? Was it even real?"
As the giant leviathan’s body faded away, the crimson wasteland became quiet once again. Only the sound of the passing breeze could be heard.
Alen stumbled to the ground as the exhaustion and fading adrenaline of the battle finally caught up to him. Beside him, his sword shattered into pieces, unable to endure any more stress. Alen was just glad it hadn’t broken during the actual battle, or he would have been left completely vulnerable.
As Alen lay on the ground, trying to catch his breath, he closed his eyes. Even so, he felt a bright crimson light shining through his eyelids. He snapped his eyes open as he sensed an unfamiliar shift in the air.
The crimson wasteland was gone. In its place was the exact same pure white space he had seen during his first trial. The realm was so blindingly white that absolutely no other colors were visible. It felt eerily calm.
As he looked around his surroundings, he noticed a dark sword floating in the empty space a few meters away from him. The weapon looked menacing, as if it had been forged for something truly dangerous.
Its blade was long and slightly curved, forged in a deep black color. Along the edge, a faint red glow ran from the base to the tip, making it look as if something inside the weapon were alive. The glow wasn’t bright, but it felt intense, radiating a hidden power just waiting to be released.
The guard was sharp and uneven, shaped almost like broken spikes or jagged claws. At the center of the crossguard sat a glowing red core, similar to a burning gem or a watchful eye. It gave off the unsettling feeling that the sword was actively observing him, perhaps even breathing.
The handle was dark and twisted. Unlike normal swords, it looked as if it had been organically grown rather than crafted, featuring rough edges designed to fit tightly into a wielder’s grip.
Overall, the sword emitted a heavy, ominous presence. It didn’t look like a weapon made by human hands, but rather something born from darkness itself.
Alen looked at it carefully, feeling an invisible, attraction to the blade. As he stepped forward, his feet suddenly halted. He felt a chilling presence standing directly behind him. He quickly turned around to see who it was, but found no one.
’Was I mistaken? No, I really felt like someone was standing right behind me.’
As he turned back around to look at the sword, he found nothing but empty space. The weapon had completely disappeared.
"What the f*ck?! Where did that sword go? Was it just an illusion? Am I drunk?"
Just as he was cursing aloud, a soft female voice suddenly echoed through the space.
"Are you looking for me?"
Alen flinched. Every survival instinct in his body screamed in sudden danger. A girl with silky black hair, crimson eyes, and unreal beauty was floating gently above the ground. Contrary to her soft, playful voice, her face was completely emotionless.
"Who are you, and what are you? How did you get into this place?"
Alen demanded, his expression full of shock.
Whatever this white realm actually was, Alen felt a strange sense of belonging here, almost as if it were his own domain. He had no idea how this unknown figure had managed to arrive inside it.
She floated there continuously. With a casual flick of her delicate finger, a hot cup of coffee materialized in thin air. She took the cup and took a slow sip.
As she tasted the rich coffee, her face finally softened just a fraction. However, her deep crimson eyes didn’t change at all; she stared at him with an intense gaze, looking as though she was ready to kill him at any given moment.
Time passed, and Alen didn’t dare to move a muscle. He just watched her, waiting. She placed the empty cup onto a small tray, and both items instantly disintegrated into the air. She finally looked down at him, folding her arms across her chest.
"I am Ravena, the Spiritual Manifestation of the weapon known as ’Godless’. It is a pleasure to meet you, young fellow."
Alen stared at the beautiful girl in front of him. He didn’t know anything about weapon spirits. Even in his past life, despite reading several light novels, he had never read anything that accurately described what a true spirit was or how they looked. Not that he believed the fiction from his old world was reality anyway.
Still, looking at a real spirit for the first time, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe. She possessed undeniable beauty, and she emitted a unique, ancient power that felt fundamentally different from any normal magic he knew.
Ravena narrowed her eyes and smirked lightly.
"Are you smitten or something? Should I give you a kiss on the cheek?"
Alen quickly calmed himself down before she could tease him any further, forcefully suppressing the heat rising to his face. He locked eyes with her again.
"Tell me why you are here, and why you called me to this place. Are you the one who threw me into the void to summon me to that crimson realm?"
Ravena floated mid-air, settling into a seated posture as calmly as if an invisible chair were resting beneath her. She rested one hand over the other, leaning toward him slightly, and tapped her chin in thought as she listened to his questions.
"Well... I am the Master of the Realm ’Crimson Sky’. And yes, I am the one who called you to this place." She sighed softly.
"As for why I called you... let’s just say I wanted to test you. I needed to see if you were truly capable of inheriting my power."
"But you should know that I am deeply disappointed in the result. The impressive fight I expected from you never happened. You weren’t even able to defeat such a weakling."
With another casual flick of her finger, the Bloodsand Leviathan—the exact same monster Alen thought was dead—was suddenly summoned into the white space.
She looked at it with a thoroughly bored expression. The giant monster glanced around the pure white realm in sheer confusion and slowly opened its maw to howl again.
But before it could even release a scream, Ravena lifted a single finger. crimson energy gathered at her fingertip, and she traced a simple, vertical line downward through the air.
The monster standing in the distance froze. A massive crimson line suddenly appeared—not just across the monster’s body, but slicing through the very fabric of space where it stood.
Red, jagged fractures spider-webbed across the air. The Leviathan’s colossal body was effortlessly severed into two perfect halves as it collapsed onto the white floor. Its remains instantly began to disintegrate into dust.
Ravena smirked, her emotionless eyes emitting pure, terrifying danger.
As Alen watched the impossible scene unfold, he finally realized what it meant to hold true, absolute power. Compared to her, he wasn’t even a fledgling.
