Street thug with a charming ability

Jack’s mouth twitched slightly as he heard his friend say that he thought he was dead.

"Brother, stop cursing me like that. I have a long life to live. If anything happens to me, you and your mouth will be responsible for that.

Okay, stop whining. Where have you been? You haven’t shown your face for four days. It’s really surprising."

Jack smiled slightly and said,

"I was at my girlfriend’s place."

As soon as he said that, on the phone there was a sound of something heavy falling down. Richard, on the other side, after hearing this, fell to the ground from the chair after hearing this shocking news.

"Richard, what’s happening there, what’s that sound?"

"Bastard, since when did you have a girlfriend that I don’t know? You have been maintaining this kind of secrecy all along from me."

"Why didn’t you introduce her to me? After all these years of brotherhood, you still don’t trust me, do you? You should change that never trusting attitude. It’s been so long since you left that place."

Seeing Richard start to speak nonsense and divert from the matter he wanted to discuss, Jack decided to put a stop to it.

"Richard, stop your blabbering. It’s not what you think. The girlfriend matter is a little bit complicated. I will explain it to you later."

"Now, I need your help with something. I sent the address and details of the store. I need to know everything about that store and the couple who own the store. It’s an important matter. Don’t delay me."

Richard snorted on the other side, but seeing him speaking seriously like this, he didn’t ask more about the girlfriend matter. He focused on the details he had sent to his phone and said to Jack,

"I will call you after two hours. Bye."

Richard immediately disconnected the call on the other side before Jack was about to say something.

Jack didn’t mind his childish behaviour.

He sat on the big and comfortable sofa in the hall and continued to watch his favourite TV show, which he had stopped watching yesterday.

After that, he finished his lunch with Emily and waited for the call from his brother Richard. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

As for why I’m calling him brother all this while,

Even though he was not blood-related, he was more than a blood-related brother to me. In 22 years of my life, until now, he was the only true friend I have. He was also one of the main reasons I was surviving until now.

When he received a call, the time had just passed the two-hour time limit Richard fixed. This meant this idiot had already gotten the information and waited for exactly two hours before calling me like this. His craze for watching mafia movies was affecting everyone near him. He became a crazy fan of a mafia boss character in a mafia movie which we watched in childhood.

He was still following things the character did, doing everything on time and not going back on his words once given.

He picked up the call.

On the other side, Richard’s voice was heard:

"I gathered all the information about this place through my connections. I will send you the information on your phone. Why are you investigating this store and the couple who own it?"

"Nothing. I will inform you about this after everything is over."

Seeing him not explaining things clearly like always, Richard sighed.

After that, Jack and Richard started to discuss other things and ended their call.

Jack looked at the information and started to read everything and finally found where the trap was laid.

This venomous woman clearly intended to put all that problem on Emily’s head through selling this store to her.

The store was built on an unregistered property that belonged to the government, and these people bought this store and invested everything in it when they were married. At that time, they didn’t know that they had been cheated. After 20 years, no one discovered anything about the store and the buildings occupying government land. But someone in the town from the government side had started to dig deeper into this matter.

This couple must have a relative or someone on the other side; otherwise, this information would not have leaked this early. Now they were trying to sell this store to a scapegoat. But that fat woman could have sold it to anybody, but she laid this big trap for the one she called her childhood friend. This clearly shows how much hatred the other side has for Emily.

From the looks of it, Emily was not the kind who mistreats the people who are close to her; then this hatred must have stemmed from that fat woman’s jealousy.

What a venomous woman. This kind of person is the hardest to guard against. They always stay by your side, and we don’t know when they will spill the venom they have been accumulating all these years inside their heart onto us.

As he thought this, he looked around and saw that Emily was in her bedroom. He heard that she was speaking with someone on the phone for so long and waited for her in the hall.

After some time, Emily came outside, and Jack looked at her and signaled her to come near.

As soon as she came near Jack, he suddenly pulled her close with his hands. She fell on him and sat on his lap.
