SSS Awakening: Only My Summons Evolve

Back in his hotel room, coming out of the warm steamy shower, Verso threw on some comfortable clothes before slumping down onto his bed.

"What a long fucking day..."

So much had happened in this past twenty four hours that his mind had became a complete mess.

He had not just fought elite beasts but he had also come in second place overall in the entire nation. Which was a feat he had never thought he would be able to accomplish just a month ago.

But deep inside he knew that with the system this was just him scratching the surface of his potential. As time and time again he had seen how big of an edge he was able to get on others just by hunting in the system realm.

He let out a deep sigh full of relief, staring up at the ceiling.

’The Sea Serpent really saved my ass, though.’

He had acquired the serpent merely hours before the exam, and it had turned out to be the luckiest thing that had happened to him.

Without it, he would have never been able to go off solo and he most likely would have died under the claws of Han’s Elite White Tiger before he could explain himself.

Just as he was reminiscing about the day’s chaos, his phone beeped.

Picking it up and unlocking the screen, he saw a new message notification.

Candidate ’Verso’ from Team Han, you have been allocated to The Phoenix Summoner Academy upon placing within the 10th place overall in the nation!

Congratulations on your achievement. Please coordinate with us as we process your admission!

Verso’s smile widened as he read through the message.

The Phoenix Summoner Academy was one of the best academies in the entire world. Although he had anticipated getting placed somewhere prestigious, he had not expected it to be here.

But most of his happiness did not come from the school placement. It came from what followed after reading through the text.

"Fucking finally!"

Although his body was screaming for sleep, Verso pumped his fist in the air with excitement. This mission had been daunting him ever since he had awakened like a gun over his head, and now finally he had completed it.

Just then, a small blue system window appeared in front of him.

"Accept." Verso said out loud, following which the system let out a familiar chime.

He had finally got his hands on the reward that was promised to him when he first awakened.

’So, what are you supposed to be...’

Verso mumbled to himself as he pulled up the Fusion Menu. After using the Evolution Menu to evolve his Nameless Skeleton, he did not know what more he could accomplish with this new function.

As the menu window opened in front of him as he saw a list of all of his remaining summons.

He had already expected it work just like the evolution menu so this did not came as a surprise. But just then, his eye caught a detail that made him sit upright.

’Wait. Unlike the evolution menu, I can fuse my mutant beast souls?’

Although he suddenly had an itch to test out the function on his Mutant Stone Golems he decided against it.

There was a good chance that they were going to be his remaining stock of Stone Golems until The Shattered Wilds became accessible again.

So instead he instantly went to test the function out on his Primitive Minor Stone Golems. As he mentally selected two of the Primitive beast souls, a percentage bar popped up in the center of the window.

Seeing this, Verso instantly understood the difference between Evolution and Fusion.

While Evolution gave a guaranteed success rate bringing your summon up a tier, it was often restricted by the summoner’s own level.

Fusion, however was based on entirely on compatibility.

’That is fucking insane...’ He muttered as he realized the possibilities.

If he combined two highly compatible mutant souls, there was a possibility he could gain an Elite Summon.

No wonder the system had given him such a reward only after passing the exam, it was completely worth the struggle that he had went though as it boosted his speed of progression drastically.

"Proceed." Verso said with a grin.

The blue window closed down instantly as both of the names disappeared from his vision. Then, a voice echoed in his head.

[Beast Soul Acquired: Stone Golem.]

’So it works!’ Immediately a massive smile came up on Verso’s face as he looked at the result of his fusion.

With this he could finally bring his Primitive Minor Stone Golem souls to use instead of letting them sit in his summoning space collecting dust.

With a thought Verso brought up his status window to look at his remaining summons.

He had lost a good chunk of his Mutant Stone Golems during this exam, but his worry that he would be unable to get them back until The Shattered Wilds became accessible again, completely disappeared.

’I should turn them all into Stone Golems...’ Verso had a sudden idea when looking at the number of Minor Stone Golems that he had.

Sixteen of them were enough for him to get eight more Mutant Stone Golems which would boost the strength of his Arsenal severely.

"I guess I am doing a mass fusion now..." With a sinister smile on his face, he opened up his new Fusion Menu and started fusing all of Minor Stone Golems into their Mutant Variants.
