"What do you mean, ’no’? You think I of all people don’t know what you’re like?"

Cheng Yushu glanced at Su Mengyao, not pulling any punches.

"Why don’t we ask the staff to move us to a private room with a bigger pool? It’ll be a bit of a squeeze for us otherwise."

Zhu Yuehua took one look at the hot spring pool in the room and knew Yun Zijin and Su Mengyao had booked one for two people.

There were four of them, so it would be a bit crowded if all of them got in.

The private room she and Cheng Yushu had booked also had a two-person pool, so they were in the same boat.

"You have to reserve all the private rooms here. It’s pretty much impossible to switch at the last minute."

After all, Su Mengyao was a regular here, so she was familiar with how the private rooms at Liuyue Hot Spring Villa worked.

"Let’s just go ask. We’ll figure it out if they can’t do it."

Zhu Yuehua had considered that possibility, but she figured you’d never know if you didn’t try.

’Maybe someone just canceled their room and we’ll get lucky,’ Zhu Yuehua thought.

"I’ll go with you. Yaoyao and Zijin probably shouldn’t go out dressed like that."

"Come get us once you’ve sorted it out. Zijin and I just ordered some food, and it should be arriving soon."

Cheng Yushu and Zhu Yuehua gave the other two a reassuring look before turning to leave the room.

"These two friends of yours seem pretty nice. How could you ditch them to hang out with Yang Jiaqian?"

It was obvious Yang Jiaqian and Su Mengyao weren’t from the same social circle. If Yang Jiaqian hadn’t been so deliberate about it, their paths likely never would have crossed.

"Who knows? I guess I had a moment of insanity back then."

Thinking back on it now, Su Mengyao couldn’t even recall how she and Yang Jiaqian had met and gotten so close. She could only chalk it up to being young and foolish.

Yun Zijin remained noncommittal and didn’t bring up Yang Jiaqian again.

Zhu Yuehua and Cheng Yushu returned quickly from their trip to the front desk. Accompanying them was one of the resort’s shift managers.

"Miss Su, Miss Yun, these two ladies said they’d like to trade in both your room and the one they booked for a private room with a four-person pool. Are you aware of this?"

So he was just here to confirm the details.

"Yes, that’s right. We only just ran into each other after we arrived, so we were hoping to switch to a room with a four-person pool. Is that possible to arrange?"

Su Mengyao stepped forward and explained the situation.

"Oh, so you’re friends of Miss Su! In that case, switching rooms is no problem. We’ll just go ahead and cancel your original reservations. Is that okay with you?"

The resort always kept a few private rooms in reserve each day to handle potential issues just like this.

None of the four had any objections. They were the ones requesting the change, after all, so there was no point in holding up the other rooms. Besides, why make things difficult for an employee just trying to do their job?

Upon receiving their confirmation, the smile on the supervisor’s face became noticeably more genuine.

"In that case, please gather your things as quickly as you can. I’ll have someone escort you to the new room."

The supervisor was already stepping out the door as he finished speaking.

Yun Zijin and Su Mengyao quickly grabbed their robes and put them on, making sure they were tied tightly before following the attendant to the new room.

They also told the attendant to have the food Yun Zijin and Su Mengyao had ordered sent to the new four-person room.

After entering the new four-person room, Cheng Yushu eagerly went to the changing room. When she emerged, she looked like a completely different person.

Zhu Yuehua also took her clothes to the changing room and got right into the pool after she came out.

Before long, the food Yun Zijin and Su Mengyao had ordered arrived. The pavilion in the four-person room was also much larger than the one in the two-person room.

"Yushu! Yue Hua! Why don’t you two get out and have a bite to eat before you soak?"

Su Mengyao called out to Zhu Yuehua and Cheng Yushu.

"You two go ahead and eat. We’ll just order something later if we get hungry."

Cheng Yushu and Zhu Yuehua had just gotten into the hot spring and didn’t want to get out so soon.

Su Mengyao didn’t press the issue. After they declined, she didn’t mention it again.

Yun Zijin and Su Mengyao had already finished the fruit platter, but the red wine they had ordered earlier was still there; Su Mengyao had made sure to bring it along when they switched rooms.

Zhu Yuehua and Cheng Yushu each poured themselves a glass. They soaked comfortably in the hot spring, slowly savoring their wine.

Once Yun Zijin and Su Mengyao were mostly done eating, they went to lie down on the lounge chairs by the side of the pool.

"Oh! I forgot to ask earlier, how did you two meet?"

Cheng Yushu finished the last sip of wine in her glass and turned to ask Yun Zijin and Su Mengyao.

"Speaking of that, you could say Zijin and I got off on the wrong foot."

Now that someone had asked, Su Mengyao was suddenly wide awake.

"Hmm? You mean you two didn’t get along when you first met?"

Cheng Yushu looked puzzled.

"Not exactly. Let’s just say things were a little unpleasant at first, but we buried the hatchet later on!"

’If I hadn’t been so sharp, I’d probably still be getting played for a fool by Yang Jiaqian!’

"Glad to see you weren’t completely blind."

Cheng Yushu’s expression darkened at the thought of the whole affair with Yang Jiaqian.

Su Mengyao had distanced herself from quite a few of her friends because of Yang Jiaqian.

Knowing she was in the wrong, Su Mengyao, for once, didn’t argue back.

"Oh, right, Zijin, what does your family do? I’m not trying to pry or anything, just curious. You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to."

"Oh, I mostly just live off my rental income."

Aside from her weekday spending tasks, collecting rent was currently Yun Zijin’s most lucrative source of income.

"You collect rent in Dijing?"

It was no secret that real estate in Dijing was ridiculously expensive. Most young people today could work their whole lives and still not earn enough to buy a single bathroom there.

"Of course. I wouldn’t joke about something like that."

It was the truth. Yun Zijin wasn’t the type to put on a front just to save face.

Zhu Yuehua and Cheng Yushu both gave Yun Zijin a thumbs-up.

They both relied on their families for their comfortable lifestyles. And while they owned quite a bit of property, it would still be difficult for them to live solely off the rental income.

The four young women chattered away, and just like that, the day flew by.

As evening fell, the four of them reluctantly left the private room to head home.

"We should do this again soon!"

Cheng Yushu linked her arm with Yun Zijin’s, already thinking about their next get-together before this one had even ended.

"Yeah! It’s not every day you meet friends you click with. Let’s definitely keep in touch!"

Zhu Yuehua hadn’t expected to make a new friend on today’s outing, either.

"Definitely. I don’t have many friends in Dijing, so I certainly won’t forget you all."

Yun Zijin had a good impression of both Zhu Yuehua and Cheng Yushu, so she readily agreed to their suggestion to hang out again.

The group walked to the front desk of Liuyue Hot Spring Villa together. Yun Zijin was the first to act, taking out her Black Gold Card and handing it to the cashier.
