"All of you, shut up," Xia Qixi snapped, her face grim.

She couldn’t help but worry about Ye Xuan. ’He might be the champion of this year’s Floating Light Assembly with astonishing skill in Soul Refining, but he was barely twenty years old. His martial arts prowess couldn’t be that great.’

’Wenqiao Mei and her group were all Earth Martial Artists. Could Ye Xuan possibly escape from the four of them on his own? If he were to die here, it would be a massive loss for the Thirteen Nations Alliance.’

The thought made her heart clench with anxiety.

’No, I can’t let Ye Xuan die here.’

"Let’s go. We’ll follow and see what happens," Xia Qixi said, her expression shifting.

The young men were taken aback.

"Senior Sister, this is between the Fire Crow Kingdom and the Liuyun Kingdom. We don’t need to get involved, do we?" a young man asked in confusion.

"What? Are you going to disobey me now?" Xia Qixi glared.

The young men immediately fell silent.

The four of them turned into streaks of light and shot off in the direction Wenqiao Mei and her group had vanished.

As they gave chase, the young men couldn’t resist talking amongst themselves on the sly.

"You guys think Senior Sister has a thing for that kid?"

"No way. What’s he got that would earn our Senior Sister’s favor?"

"But he *is* the champion of the Floating Light Assembly this time."

"So what if he’s the champion? He’s just a fledgling. How can he compare to me?"

"Oh, right! You don’t think Senior Sister is after that kid’s Blue Star Grass Martial Soul, do you?"

One of the young men suddenly spoke up, causing the others’ eyes to gleam with understanding.

"That’s it! Why didn’t I think of that? It has to be. That kid’s Blue Star Grass Martial Soul is super effective for ordinary Martial Artists. Even Chairman Zhu Tianlan couldn’t stop praising it. If we get our hands on it, we’ll be set for life!"

"Nice! I was wondering why Wenqiao Mei’s group was in such a hurry. Turns out they’re after the formula for the Blue Star Grass Martial Soul."

"Those people from the Fire Crow Kingdom are a bunch of ungrateful backstabbers. We graciously agreed to work with them, and they just ditch us for personal gain, trying to hog all the loot for themselves."

With that, the previously reluctant young men suddenly sped up, leaving Xia Qixi confused. ’Why are they suddenly so motivated?’ she wondered.

Several miles ahead of Xia Qixi’s group, Ye Xuan’s flying figure came to an abrupt halt at a turn in the path. He glanced at a nearby cluster of boulders and sneered, "Well, aren’t you lot leisurely? You actually got ahead of me to set up an ambush. Do you really take me for an idiot?"

Four figures shot out from the boulders, surrounding Ye Xuan. It was none other than Wenqiao Mei and her group of four.

"Kid, didn’t think your perception would be so sharp. A pity it’s useless. Surrounded by the four of us, there’s no escape. I’ll give you a chance: hand over the Blue Star Grass Martial Soul, and you might just live. Otherwise, this day next year will be your death anniversary."

A young man with a narrow face sneered the moment he appeared, his tone arrogant as if he already controlled Ye Xuan’s fate.

Ye Xuan glanced at the four of them. "You think the likes of you can keep me here?"

"Haha." A young man burst out laughing, a flash of killing intent in his eyes. He scoffed, "Kid, don’t tell me winning the Floating Light Assembly made you arrogant enough to forget your own limits. This isn’t a contest of Soul Refining skills. Any one of the four of us is enough to finish you off. Enough nonsense. Hand over the Blue Star Grass Martial Soul."

If they weren’t trying to get the formula for the Blue Star Grass Martial Soul out of him, they wouldn’t have bothered wasting their breath.

"The Blue Star Grass Martial Soul is on me. If you want it, you’re welcome to try and take it," Ye Xuan said with a faint smile.

"Kid, you’re asking for it."

A young man roared and glanced at Wenqiao Mei.

A murderous glint flashed across Wenqiao Mei’s face as she said coldly, "Make it quick. Xia Qixi and the others are nearby. Don’t let them ruin this."

The moment she finished speaking, SWISH SWISH SWISH SWISH, the four of them charged at Ye Xuan in unison, drawing their weapons and radiating killing intent.

Facing their attack, Ye Xuan remained motionless, a mocking sneer playing on his lips.

’Is this kid stupid or something?’

The three young men from the Fire Crow Kingdom paused, a flicker of doubt in their minds, but they had no time to dwell on it. They moved to seal off all of Ye Xuan’s escape routes.

Of the four, only Wenqiao Mei felt a tremor of unease. She sensed something was wrong but couldn’t pinpoint the source.

But it was too late to back down now.

Just as their attacks were about to strike Ye Xuan, several furious roars erupted. A few Demon Beasts charged out from the nearby boulders and a ravine.

A terrifying Demon Beast aura filled the valley. The four beasts targeted Wenqiao Mei’s group, attacking from four directions with unimaginable speed.

’This is bad!’

All four of their faces paled, their hearts seizing with terror. The Demon Beasts’ auras were savage and their pressure overwhelming; they were clearly Tier Four. Usually, they would have to join forces just to fend off one. The sudden appearance of four at once scared them witless, their eyes bulging in disbelief.

At the critical moment, the four abandoned their attack on Ye Xuan and retreated in a mad scramble.

But as mere Tier Three Earth Martial Artists, how could they possibly outrun Tier Four Demon Beasts, no matter how fast they fled?

A few blood-curdling screams rang out. In a single clash, two of the young disciples from the Fire Crow Kingdom were instantly cleaved in two, split vertically from head to toe. Organs and blood spilled across the ground in pools.

Another young man was sliced in two at the waist, his upper torso left to crawl and scream in agony on the ground.

Of the four, only Wenqiao Mei was in better shape. At the critical moment, she had thrown a Profound Talisman that erupted into flames, blocking a claw from the Rock Giant Wolf.

She landed on the ground, her face pale as she stared at the blood-soaked carnage. Her stomach churned, and she nearly vomited.

SQUELCH! A Blade Mantis Beast brought its blade down, shattering the head of the last screaming young man on the ground. Its cold, indifferent gaze then fell upon Wenqiao Mei.

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!

After slaughtering the three men in an instant, the four Demon Beasts immediately surrounded Wenqiao Mei.

GRRR!

The Rock Giant Wolf let out a few embarrassed growls toward Ye Xuan, clearly displeased and awkward that it hadn’t managed to kill Wenqiao Mei in one strike.

The three Blade Mantis Beasts also growled at Ye Xuan.

Wenqiao Mei stared in shock, her mind reeling as if hit by a tidal wave.

At first, she thought she was just incredibly unlucky to have run into four Tier Four Demon Beasts. But now, she realized these four beasts had been summoned by Ye Xuan.

’How is this possible?’

’Wenqiao Mei’s mind was in chaos. Could Ye Xuan be a Beast Tamer? But even if he was, she had never heard of any Beast Tamer who could enslave four such powerful Demon Beasts at once.’

Once the shock subsided, Wenqiao Mei instantly grasped her predicament. She immediately began to beg Ye Xuan for her life. "Don’t kill me! Please, I’m begging you, don’t kill me! I’ll do anything, anything at all, just let me live!"

As she spoke, she put on a pitiful and helpless expression, her eyes filling with tears.

When Ye Xuan remained expressionless, Wenqiao Mei’s panic intensified. Gritting her teeth, she tore open the front of her robe, revealing a wide expanse of pale, smooth skin. Most of one of her full, round breasts was exposed to the air. Against the backdrop of blood, severed limbs, and the lush scenery, the sight was exceptionally alluring.

The once proud and aloof Wenqiao Mei was now behaving like a common strumpet, with no regard for her own dignity.

She knew that if she didn’t beg for mercy now, she would soon become a pile of mangled flesh just like her three companions.

Seeing the utter lack of emotion in Ye Xuan’s eyes, she gritted her teeth and, before he could speak, pulled her top all the way down.

"It wasn’t my idea to come after you, it was Chairman Xuu Xin Hua’s! I never wanted to kill you. You’re the champion of the Floating Light Assembly, and I admire you more than anyone. To be honest, I’ve had a crush on you ever since the tournament."

"Don’t get the wrong idea, I’m not promiscuous. I’m actually still a virgin... you can check if you don’t believe me. As long as you don’t kill me, I’ll do anything you ask. I promise I’ll satisfy you. Look at my figure... you can touch me..."

In her desperate hope to survive, Wenqiao Mei’s words became a jumbled mess.

Seeing Ye Xuan standing perfectly still, Wenqiao Mei thought she had successfully seduced him. What she didn’t know was that, in Ye Xuan’s eyes, her behavior was nothing but disgusting and cheap.

He sent out a ripple of Soul Power. A murderous glint instantly flashed in the eyes of the Rock Giant Wolf and the other three beasts. Then, as Wenqiao Mei watched in disbelief, one of them brought a claw down and crushed her skull.

Even in the moment of her death, Wenqiao Mei’s eyes were filled with utter disbelief, unable to accept that Ye Xuan could be so ruthless as to kill her.
