Oliver now stood upon the battle platform located at the backyard arena of House Mythragon. Standing opposite him was Esmond, who wore a wide grin filled with confidence.

Meanwhile, the surrounding students could barely contain their excitement for the upcoming match.

Naturally, most of them supported Esmond. After all, he ranked among the top five students of his year and possessed a powerful monster.

There was also another important reason, both Oliver and Esmond were representing their respective years. If Esmond lost to a first-year student, it would bring shame to his entire batch.

Meanwhile, Klade sat leisurely nearby while observing Oliver calmly. Unlike the other first-year students, he secretly hoped Esmond would defeat Oliver and force him out of the House.

That way, the spotlight and attention within Mythragon would naturally return to him once more. Right now, Oliver had completely stolen it from him.

And Klade hated that feeling to his very core. As someone who had always stood at the center of attention, this situation felt like a direct slap to his face.

Even worse, Oliver was merely a commoner. In Klade’s eyes, commoners were nothing more than trash occupying space meant for nobles. There was no way he would allow his status and fame to be trampled by someone like that.

"Before we begin, I will briefly explain the rules." Beatrix announced.

"This mock battle will involve only monsters. The tamers themselves are not allowed to interfere directly in combat. Partial Form and Full Form transformations are strictly prohibited. The winner will be decided once the opponent surrenders or when their monster is knocked unconscious."

Beatrix honestly had no issue with this kind of internal conflict. In fact, she believed it was better this way. After this battle, the tension between them would finally be resolved, hopefully.

Beatrix then stepped backward before raising a magic crystal in her hand. The moment she smashed it, a transparent magical barrier instantly expanded and covered the entire arena.

Its purpose was to prevent the destruction from affecting the surrounding area.

Without wasting another second, Esmond immediately summoned his monster.

"Appear! Strozi! The Dragon of Venom!"

A dragon instantly materialized before him.

Its body possessed a sickly green color, while parts of its flesh looked as though they were constantly melting away as poison continuously dripped from it.

Its eyes appeared like empty hollow sockets, making its appearance even more disturbing.

"RAAARR..."

The dragon slowly opened its mouth, releasing a thick green poisonous mist into the arena.

Oliver immediately activated Overlord Eye to examine the dragon’s details. As expected, Strozi was an S Rank monster.

Oliver immediately covered his mouth with one hand to avoid inhaling the poisonous mist. Only while using his Arachnomancer Class would he possess immunity against poison. In his current normal state, that poison was still dangerous to him.

Many of the surrounding students immediately began laughing at Oliver for recklessly challenging someone like Esmond. After all, Strozi was infamous within Mythragon for being one of the most troublesome dragons to fight against.

However, Oliver did not panic at all. He calmly summoned Flora, who appeared elegantly before him. The moment she materialized, many students instantly became captivated once again by her breathtaking appearance.

Flora then slightly turned her head toward Oliver. Naturally, Oliver had already instructed all of his monsters beforehand not to speak in front of others.

"Go beat that dragon." Oliver whispered.

Flora, whose mouth and nose remained covered beneath the vine mask, simply winked toward Oliver.

Flora then began casually walking toward the dragon. For her, the creature before her was nothing worthy of fear.

Suddenly, Strozi opened its mouth and unleashed a beam of poisonous energy directly toward Flora. Flora raised her hand and cast Vine Wall.

A thick wall of vines instantly rose before her. However, the poison rapidly melted through the vines upon contact.

"Hahaha! There’s no way you can block that poison! It corrodes everything it touches." Esmond declared proudly.

’Hmm... is that so? Then how about this?’ Flora thought.

She gracefully swung her hand through the air, causing a dozen gigantic carnivorous flowers to suddenly erupt from the ground.

Each flower possessed a bloom nearly two meters wide. Flora then pointed her finger forward.

Instantly, one of the carnivorous flowers lunged toward Strozi from behind and sank its sharp teeth directly into the dragon’s back. It bit down violently before pulling away chunks of flesh.

"RAAAR!!"

Strozi screamed in pain as a portion of its back was viciously torn apart. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

The carnivorous flower quickly began melting away due to the poison covering Strozi’s body. However, the moment one flower died, another immediately replaced it.

One after another, the carnivorous flowers continuously bit into Strozi from every direction. The dragon gradually became helpless as parts of its body were being devoured alive repeatedly.

Esmond slowly began growing anxious as he watched his dragon being mercilessly ravaged before his eyes.

As time passed, Strozi gradually became smaller and smaller.

Its poison-based regeneration could no longer keep up with the damage it was continuously receiving.

Around the weakened dragon, dozens of carnivorous plants slowly opened their massive jaws, ready to engulf it completely.

"Stop!" Suddenly, Beatrix intervened.

"The winner is already obvious. It is Oliver," she declared.

"Hey! I’m not done yet! I can still beat him!" Esmond protested immediately.

"Sigh...look at your monster, Esmond. It is dying because of your own stubbornness." Beatrix replied.

Everyone then turned toward Strozi. The once intimidating venom dragon was now covered in bite marks and missing chunks of flesh. Its body was trembling from exhaustion while poisonous liquid dripped onto the arena floor.

Even the students supporting Esmond had fallen silent. The result was undeniable. Strozi had never once managed to threaten Flora.

Meanwhile, Flora herself remained completely calm, looking just as elegant and composed as she had at the very beginning of the battle.

The difference between the two monsters was obvious for everyone to see.

"YEAH!"

The first-year students immediately rushed toward Oliver the moment the barrier was removed.

"You did it, Oliver! You’re amazing!"

"What type of monster is Floralia?"

"Can she really create a domain?"

Questions began pouring in from every direction. Even Klade joined the group. Although inwardly he was cursing Oliver for winning and stealing even more attention, his outward appearance remained friendly and welcoming.

A bright smile was plastered across his face as if he was genuinely happy for Oliver’s victory.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the arena, the third-year students were giving Esmond looks of disappointment and disgust.

"You’re all talk. How can you lose to a first-year student?" one of them said bluntly.

"Then go fight him yourself! Let’s see how long your monster can survive against that thing!" Esmond immediately shot back.

The entire group fell silent. No one could answer him. They had all witnessed the battle. And now they understood a simple truth, appearances could be deceiving.

Flora looked beautiful, elegant, and harmless. But beneath that appearance was a monster powerful enough to completely dominate Strozi.

Right now, everyone in House Mythragon understood one thing. Floralia was already among the strongest monsters tamed by any student in the House.

And ironically, she was not even a dragon.
