This was a natural barrier, and also the most dangerous place in Jiang City.

Most incidents occurred at West Mountain.

The trio entered West Mountain, as unnoticeable as a speck of dust.

Despite the rugged mountain path, the trio’s pace didn’t slow in the slightest as they headed for the first location.

Along the way, Chen Yu activated his Biological Force Field. With his Force Field perception active, he could clearly sense his surroundings.

Its range was considerable, but West Mountain was vast. Scanning the entire area instantly was impossible.

Venturing deeper, they soon arrived at the first location.

A mountain hollow.

From the woods on the mountainside, Chen Yu gazed at the hollow, his Force Field perception spreading out to sweep the area.

Under the powerful perception of his Biological Force Field, he could sense even a single mosquito.

"Brother Yu, anything?" An Ran asked, looking at Chen Yu.

Chen Yu shook his head. "Nothing here. Let’s go to the next spot."

The other two nodded. Their figures then moved rapidly, and they quickly vanished into the mountain forest.

A short while later, Chen Yu’s group reappeared in another valley within West Mountain.

He scanned the area again with his Biological Force Field, but once more, nothing turned up.

They couldn’t find so much as a single strand of mutant beast fur, let alone sight of a beast itself.

The trio didn’t lose heart and continued their search.

An hour passed. Chen Yu had scanned more than half of West Mountain with his Biological Force Field.

But he hadn’t found a single thing.

Mutant beasts, bandits!

Not a single trace of them.

They had turned the most likely spots upside down, but still came up empty-handed.

"Was the intel wrong?"

An Ran frowned.

Baili Qing shook his head. "I doubt it. The mutant beasts have probably relocated."

"There’s one last place. Let’s go check it out," Chen Yu said.

The two nodded and vanished once more.

A moment later, disappointment was written on all three of their faces.

They had finished searching the last location, but still had nothing to show for it.

The entirety of West Mountain had been scanned.

Chen Yu trusted the power of his Biological Force Field.

’His power wouldn’t fail him. The only explanation was that the beasts had moved.’

Standing on the summit, the three gazed out at the distant wilderness.

As a gentle breeze blew, An Ran turned to Chen Yu. "Brother Yu, we’ve checked all the key locations. Where to next?"

Chen Yu gazed at the distant scenery, lost in thought.

’Nothing in West Mountain.’

’That only leaves South Mountain.’

’The other areas are all open ground, impossible for hiding. Only South Mountain is a possibility.’

"To South Mountain,"

Chen Yu said.

The trio nodded. In a flash, their figures vanished.

About half an hour later, the three entered South Mountain of Jiang City.

Both West Mountain and South Mountain were mountainous regions.

West Mountain was vast, but South Mountain was by no means smaller in comparison.

It was certainly a plausible hiding spot.

But without finding any trace of mutant beasts, they couldn’t be certain.

Only by finding traces of the beasts could they confirm it.

The mountains were high and the forest was dense. The trio moved quickly through South Mountain when suddenly, Chen Yu stopped, his gaze fixed on a hollow not far away.

"Something’s up. Prepare for battle," Chen Yu said in a low voice.

Baili Qing and An Ran were instantly on high alert.

The three split up and, following Chen Yu’s command, closed in on the hollow.

In a triangular formation, they each took up a position at three different points around the hollow.

His Biological Force Field scan revealed a single mutant beast within the hollow.

A Level 2 Hyenadog!

Chen Yu identified the beast and signaled for the other two to wait. Then, with a flash, his Divine Speed Power flared. In an instant, he appeared before the Hyenadog.

"ROAR—!"

A roar shattered the silence of the hollow. The Hyenadog, its face a picture of ferocity, opened its massive jaws and lunged at Chen Yu. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

But the moment it leaped, it was enveloped by the Biological Force Field.

"SPLAT—!"

With a single clench of his fist, the Hyenadog, trapped in the Biological Force Field, was crushed into a pile of mangled flesh that scattered across the ground.

He had obtained several dozen points of the Source of Life.

After dealing with the Hyenadog, Chen Yu looked into the distance.

The mountain forest was still and quiet, showing no signs of movement. But then, the ground suddenly erupted, and monsters burst forth from the earth.

A pack of beasts!

Dozens of mutant beasts appeared.

Wilderness Wolves, most of them Level 4 or 5.

Among the pack, one special mutant beast stood out.

It was a black mutant beast, the size of a tiger. Amidst the enormous Wilderness Wolves, it looked almost petite.

But its aura was powerful—it was a Level 5 mutant beast.

It had a single silver horn on its head.

As the dozens of Wilderness Wolves appeared, An Ran and Baili Qing sprang into action.

The mountainside trembled as if struck by an earthquake, and tall trees were instantly destroyed.

Boulders shattered.

The charge of dozens of Level 4 and 5 mutant beasts was an impressive sight.

"CRACKLE—!"

An Ran unleashed her lightning ability, forming it into a long whip that she cracked through the air at a mutant beast.

Baili Qing also instantly unleashed a Vibration Wave, sending a visible shockwave surging forward.

"BOOM!!!"

Dust filled the air, and the tremor seemed to shake the very sky.

Chen Yu’s body flickered. Treading on empty air, he unleashed his power with a single thought, and an arctic chill swept through the sky.

With a light raise of his hand, endless water vapor converged, condensing into an iceberg a hundred meters tall.

"RUMBLE!!!"

The iceberg crashed down. A blast of frigid air erupted as the earth shook and vegetation shattered.

Dozens of mutant beasts were violently thrown into the air.

But for these powerful mutant beasts, such an attack was a mere trifle.

However, Chen Yu gave them no chance to retaliate.

His Frost Domain erupted instantly, unleashing a wave of absolute zero.

With him at the center, dozens of mutant beasts were frozen solid on the spot.

Even the Level 5 mutant beasts couldn’t escape his icy prison.

The power of his awakened ’Frozen World’ was on a completely different level from his old ’Freezing Breath’.

The impaled beasts shattered into chunks of ice and flesh.

At that moment, An Ran and Baili Qing had already scrambled away.

They couldn’t withstand that absolute zero temperature either. Any slower and they might have been frozen into statues themselves.

Dozens of mutant beasts were wiped out on the spot.

Among them, eight Level 5 mutant beasts were also killed by the ice.

The frigid air swept through the hollow. Though it was a scorching day, the ravine had become as cold as an Ice Hell.
