At a military airfield in Jingzhou’s Outer City, a modified passenger plane sat parked in the center. To one side, four fighter helicopters were also on standby.

The super-coach drove onto the airfield and stopped before the passenger plane. Chen Yu and the others disembarked.

They boarded in an orderly fashion. Once everyone was ready, the passenger plane took off, with the four fighter helicopters ascending right behind it.

This was his first time traveling to the Capital City.

He wasn’t particularly excited about the trip, though. He was more concerned with hunting the anomalous beasts in the Anomaly Realm for the finals. Nothing was more satisfying than harvesting the Source of Life.

Chen Yu already knew a little about the Abyssal Realm selected for the finals.

This particular Abyssal Realm was called the Lola Mountain Anomaly.

It was one of the Anomaly Realms within the Capital City’s jurisdiction, located not far from the city itself.

This Anomaly Realm, too, had once been home to a civilization, but it had long since been destroyed.

The Lola Mountain Anomaly was far more dangerous than the Crane Ridge Anomaly he had visited before, as it was overrun with anomalous beasts.

Ordinarily, the Lola Mountain Anomaly was sealed off and not open to the public.

The reason the Lola Mountain Anomaly was chosen for this year’s World Academy Finals’ Abyss was simply that it was the most suitable location.

The other Anomaly Realms in the Capital City area were unsuitable.

There were good and bad Anomaly Realms; some were nothing more than scorched wastelands.

Completely devoid of life.

Others, however, were filled with abundant Spiritual Qi and contained unique energies, making them sacred grounds for cultivation that offered immense benefits to any Martial Artist who trained there.

However, Anomaly Realms like these were almost exclusively controlled by the government.

To get in, you needed to have a certain status and pay exorbitant fees.

It was a harsh reality.

Resources are always concentrated in the hands of a select few.

At dusk, a large, modified passenger plane tore through the clouds, flanked by four fighter helicopters.

Chen Yu opened his eyes and gazed into the distance. A magnificent super-city came into view.

Steel walls, hundreds of meters high, encircled the metropolis, making it as impenetrable as an iron fortress.

Within the steel walls, countless futuristic buildings pierced the sky.

Skyscrapers a thousand meters tall stood in endless rows.

Though night had not yet fallen, the city’s lights had already begun to flicker on, shining with a captivating brilliance like a chain of stars across the sky.

A pale purple energy shield enveloped the entire city from above, so complete that not even a bird could hope to fly in.

The political heart of East Asia, a world-class global city—they had arrived at the Capital City!

Aboard the plane, all the students were gazing out at the distant Capital City.

Most of these Elite Students were well-traveled.

Even so, the splendor of the Capital City was still a breathtaking sight.

The plane flew toward the Capital City and soon landed at a military airfield in the Outer City.

The four helicopters also landed smoothly. The passenger plane’s cabin door opened, and Chen Yu and the others disembarked in an orderly fashion.

Not far away, two super-coaches were parked alongside several black SUVs.

These were the dedicated vehicles sent to pick them up.

Once everyone was off the plane, a portly, middle-aged man approached them, accompanied by several young men.

"Director Xu, welcome to the Capital City."

The middle-aged man stepped forward, his face breaking into a brilliant smile as he looked at Director Xu.

"You’re too kind, Director Li."

Director Xu gave a small smile and shook Director Li’s hand.

"You’ve all traveled a long way and must be exhausted," Director Li said. "Please, board the coaches."

Director Xu nodded, then looked to Chen Yu and the others, arranging for them to board the two super-coaches.

Once everyone was aboard, the coaches departed from the airfield.

Inside the coach, Chen Yu sat in his seat, watching the brilliantly lit buildings in the distance.

The Capital City was even more prosperous than Jingzhou Base City, but within East Asia, the most prosperous place of all was still Shanghai.

However, as the political center of East Asia, the Capital City’s status was beyond compare for any ordinary base city.

An hour later, the sky had grown completely dark.

But the night in the Capital City was as bright as day, its endless lights illuminating the metropolis.

Passing through the Outer City, Chen Yu and his group rode into the Capital City’s Inner City District.

The Inner City District was even more prosperous than the Outer City, but it was a place ordinary people could not enter.

The Capital City’s Inner City District was its central hub.

While ordinary people could enter and exit the outer cities of other places, no one was allowed into the Capital City’s Inner City District without approval, unless they were official personnel.

It was a necessary precaution.

After all, the Inner City District was far smaller than the Outer City.

And while it was more prosperous, its population was significantly smaller than that of the Outer City.

There were no maglev trains crisscrossing the sky, and even the air itself seemed different.

And unlike the Jingzhou Superpower Academy, the Capital City’s Superpower Academy was located within the Inner City District.

It occupied a specially designated zone.

As the coaches entered the Inner City District, they slowed down.

After driving for a little over half an hour, Chen Yu and his group finally arrived at a residential villa area.

It was a vast residential area built on a hillside. The villas themselves weren’t large—about the same size as the single-person villas at the academy—and they were dotted all across the mountainside.

The coaches drove into the villa area, only coming to a stop more than ten minutes later.

The hillside villa area was divided into several zones, and the coaches had stopped in the one designated for the students of Jingzhou Superpower Academy.
