Each person was assigned a small villa to use as their personal quarters.

In a place like the Capital City’s Inner City, only the absolute elite could expect this level of hospitality.

Everyone filed off the bus. Chen Yu glanced around, his eyes drawn to the lights of the villas in the distance.

In total, there were over a dozen villa complexes here.

Each complex was designated for housing students from the various Superpower Academies.

After they disembarked, Director Li handed Director Xu a box. Inside were numerous special silver medallions.

Director Xu distributed the silver medallions to the students. Each one had a unique number; Chen Yu’s was 188.

Director Li looked at the students with a smile. "Everyone, these are your residential medallions. You can use the number on them to find your assigned lodging. They also function as the key to your door, so please don’t lose them. Furthermore, these medallions are your passes for moving between the Inner City and the Outer City, so please keep them safe."

"You’ve all traveled a long way and must be hungry. Each complex has a twenty-four-hour cafeteria where a fine meal has been prepared for you. I hope you all rest well and enjoy your food."

"Alright, Li, you can head back. We’ll handle the rest from here," Director Xu said with a chuckle.

Director Li nodded. "Alright. I’ll leave you to it, then."

After watching Director Li and his staff depart, Director Xu said no more and led the group into the villa complex.

Upon reaching an open area in front of the villas, Director Xu stopped and turned to Chen Yu and the others. "Use your medallions to find your villas, then regroup here afterward."

"Yes!"

The students nodded and immediately set off to find their villas using the medallions.

Chen Yu quickly found his assigned villa. As it turned out, Baili Qing was in the one right next to his.

Chen Yu used the silver medallion to open the front door and went inside for a quick look around.

The villa wasn’t large, but it was more than enough space for one person.

After a quick tour, Chen Yu left the villa and went to rejoin the group.

Director Xu stood before the assembled students, while Dongfang Yi leaned against a nearby tree, silently observing them.

Scanning the crowd, Director Xu cleared his throat. "Alright, everyone. The preliminaries are tomorrow. I expect you all to give it your best. I don’t want to see anyone left behind. Let’s aim to have every single one of you make it to the next round. Are you confident?"

A chorus of "Yes!" rang out from the thirty-seven students.

Director Xu nodded, satisfied. "Good. Confidence is half the battle. Come on, let’s go eat. Then get a good night’s rest."

With that, Director Xu led the students toward the complex’s cafeteria.

After the meal, once everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, they began to leave in small groups.

Chen Yu, however, wasn’t in a hurry to return to his villa. He decided to take a stroll around the complex first.

He stopped on a grassy lawn within the complex, his gaze drifting toward the horizon. The night was dark, but in the distance, a sea of brilliant lights shone.

’Half of Ancestor Star is unstable,’ Chen Yu thought, ’but here... it’s no different from a normal life.’

’The desolate wilds and the base cities... one is Heaven, the other is Hell.’

"Not heading to bed? Too excited?" a voice suddenly asked. Chen Yu turned to see a young man with white hair approaching, his hands stuffed in his pockets.

It was Dongfang Yi!

"Senior Dongfang." Chen Yu offered a polite greeting as Dongfang Yi came to a stop in front of him.

"I’m not one for pointless formalities. Let’s sit and talk," Dongfang Yi said, plopping down onto the grass. He stuck a blade of grass in his mouth, the picture of indolence.

Chen Yu: "..."

’What a personality... so carefree.’

Chen Yu snapped out of it, gave a slight nod, and sat down on the grass as well.

"Want a drink?" Dongfang Yi asked, glancing at him.

No sooner had he spoken than he produced two cans of beer, as if by magic.

He casually tossed a can to Chen Yu.

"...Thanks." Chen Yu accepted it, popped the tab, and took a sip.

"How old are you?" Dongfang Yi asked after taking a drink of his own.

"Just turned nineteen," Chen Yu answered.

"Nineteen..." Dongfang Yi mused. "So young. Full of life."

"It’s nothing special. A top-tier Martial Artist can live for several hundred years without issue," Chen Yu said matter-of-factly.

"A few hundred years is nothing. True immortality only begins when you reach the True God Level," Dongfang Yi stated.

"Have you ever seen a True God Level supreme being?" Chen Yu asked, looking at Dongfang Yi with curiosity.

Dongfang Yi nodded. "Yeah, a few times."

"So, are there any True Gods on Ancestor Star?" Chen Yu asked.

Dongfang Yi took a swig of beer and gazed at the distant night sky. He replied with a single word.

"Yes!"

After saying this, he turned back to Chen Yu. "Under normal circumstances, you won’t be able to meet them. But you might in the future."

"How many are there?"

Chen Yu asked, taking another sip of beer.

Dongfang Yi answered, "I know of two, but there could be others hiding their existence."

"Are these True Gods here to defend against the Alien Races?" Chen Yu asked.

Dongfang Yi nodded. "Yeah, you’re right. It’s to defend against the Alien Races. Take the Demon Lizard Race you once dealt with—there are quite a few of them right here on Ancestor Star."

Chen Yu frowned. "Then why not wipe them out?"

"Some things aren’t as simple as you think. Wiping them out would be easy. The aftermath, however, would be a huge problem. According to Cosmic Law, within the bounds of a world, a True God Level being cannot easily attack those beneath their level," Dongfang Yi said calmly.

"Who made that rule?"

Chen Yu asked, his eyes fixed on Dongfang Yi.

"The powerful did." Dongfang Yi looked up at the heavens, his gaze seeming to pierce through everything.

"There isn’t just one Stellar Alien Race. The Cosmic Law is a kind of default understanding, one that includes the Human Race. If it’s broken, everything will spiral out of control. Unless, of course, you have the power to destroy it all."
