The moment he stepped onto the earth, his body hissed with steam, and finally Oblivion’s familiar pink mist rapidly enveloped him. A black mantle, tunic and pants formed out of Miasma, similar to the gauntlets when Oblivion took its Wrath Form.
He glanced at the vibrant magenta system panel and narrowed his eyes.
’I see, they’ve finally become my Savants.’

——
Filled with a burst of energy, he watched the Necromancer silently, preparing himself for battle.
"Don’t run." He called out to the pale dark elf.
The moment he felt the boost from Oblivion take effect, he pushed off the soft mud and dashed at the wrinkled elf.
"!?"
"Hey!"
Luka shouted as the Necromancer took off, dashing away from him a strange naked human wrapped in a bizarre black Miasma. Of course, he wouldn’t let the monster escape unless he killed this bastard. Reina would keep suffering!
"Come back!"
He grasped the false Oblivion tight and lunged forward.
His feet slid through the mud, gliding rapidly toward the Necromancer.
With a wet squish, the Undead stopped in his tracks, most likely realising the futility.
"What!?"
Or not.
"Deadly Roots. Bind him!"
The Necromancer held his long, pale-white crozier made of bone in the air and cast a spell.
Dozens of black, rotting vines shot from beneath Luka, wrapping and entangling his arms, dragging Oblivion away from the Necromancer’s neck.
"Damn it!"
He struggled against the vines, using the sharp blade growing from his elbows to tear through the mossy flora and stagger two yards away. In retaliation, the Necromancer’s lips curled upward and pointed the crozier towards Luka’s face.
A dark green aura swirled at the tip as the bone skull’s eyes lit up.
"Dark Bolt!"
The bolt lanced towards Luka, tearing through the forest like a beam of eerie light.
"Get over yourself!"
Luka raised Oblivion and slashed vertically.
Swoosh!
With a clean arc, his sword cut the bolt, causing the spell to fizzle into green mist. A low crack echoed from his gauntlets as the small holes in the shoulders began sucking in the air around his body and swallowed the remaining Miasma.
The Necromancer stared with wide eyes about five metres from Luka.
’I can get him with a single stride, but I need to avoid another spell.’
He didn’t have magic.
Nor had he learned any sword skills.
The only ability was that strange flame Oblivion made of pure Miasma.
’Blade Beam!’
He watched the Necromacer recover from the momentary shock, while the Miasma surged through his muscles, restoring any fatigue and his diminished sin energy.
[Detected the Possibility of Basic Attack Skill]
[Would you like to forge a skill?]
Luka placed his palm on the broad side of his sword, raising it vertically above his head, pointing to the sky.
’Forge it!’
[Forging Basic Attack Skill....]
[Complete!]
[You have learned Attack Skill: Arc Blaze (Level 1)]
A huge amount of information, magical sigils and the pattern Luka needed to guide his Miasma to form the spell inside his body.
The Arc Blaze skill required him to move his Miasma towards his chest, drawing the sigil for Blaze, which was two arrowheads pointing upward with a line through them.
Without wasting time, he clenched his pelvic floor, gathering the large amount of magenta hue before first drawing the two arrowheads.
His blade exploded with flames growing to the size of a metre.
Everything happened in the space of a moment, his Arc Blaze growing as the line of Miasma slashed across the two arrowheads.
[Arc Blaze: Ready!]
[Miasma: -50] 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
"You’d better run, or else you’re going to die. Again."
Luka’s muscles ached; the sudden focus of Miasma was something he’d never attempted, bringing a huge burden to his current body.
The easily gained power couldn’t replace a well-conditioned form.
"Rain of Bones! Impale!"
In response, the Necromancer raised his crozier, chanting a different spell... his Miasma drawing various green sigils in the air.
Dozens of small white bones with sharp tips formed in the air in a wide area ahead of the Necromancer. When he moved his staff, the sharp bones floated and danced along with his movements.
"Heh, you really want to do this?"
"Foolish, mortal, face the might of an immortal being!"
"I won’t die."
"Tsk, just like that haughty whore, I will end you now!"
Luka’s blade raged like an inferno, his skill long charged, but because the monster could summon so many bone wolves, he decided to do something a little stupid.
While maintaining his current Arc Blaze....
He started drawing a second set of arrowheads.
The tension, pressure, and amount of Miasma needed to form the second set without releasing the first were more than doubled. To the point that he felt his muscle strength drastically reduce.
[Arc Blaze: Ready!]
[Miasma: -100]
Magenta flames devoured Oblivion, reaching a massive conflagration that cut through the sky, leaving him with less than half his total Miasma.
"Let’s go!"
"!!!"
Luka dragged the heavy blade in a brutal arc.
A swarm of bones zipped through the skies as the Necromancer swung his staff down.
The storm of magenta flames devoured the oncoming bones.
It evaporated most of the thin bones, but a large number pierced through, slicing Luka’s cheek, chest, arms, and thighs, tearing small holes in the black Miasma that cloaked his body.
"Ngh!"
Although the bones bounced off his arms protected by Oblivion’s steel form, the clothes protecting his chest and legs were thinner than cloth.
Small wounds oozed with green blood.
"This damn zombie used poison!"
Without releasing the skill, Luka raised his flaming swords once again, the Necromancer’s staff shining green clearly with the same intention.
However, Luka’s voice followed instantly.
"Fool!"
Luke lifted the sword and held it like a harpoon, and tossed the flaming blade at the Undead.
Fwoom!
Most of the flames dissipated as it soared through the air, travelling four metres in a few seconds, piercing the unprepared Necromancer’s chest.
"It’s not over!"
A half-naked Luka shouted.
When he let go of the sword, he summoned the real Oblivion. Though losing most of the Miasma clothing, he kicked off the floor and rushed the Undead with a low, diagonal slash from left calf to right shoulder.
Shiiiing!
The faint pink arc flickered in the darkness.
A beautiful crescent moon formed behind Luka as he slid past the Necromancer.
"Phew..."
Thud!
He glanced back to find the Necromancer glaring at him woefully, his prized staff sliced in half along with his dominant arm and left leg.
The wrinkled face of the dark elf scrunched up further as it glared at Luka.
"Got something to say?"
Luka approached with careful steps, his blade gripped tight.
"...."
Despite his attempt to draw something out of the Undead, Luka found that after cutting his staff in half, the pressure he felt faded significantly. He stood just over a metre away, as the Undead struggled to remain standing.
"Such a foolish path, why sacrifice your healthy body to become such a foul creature?"
Luka couldn’t understand why a dark elf would abandon their body.
"...you...such a healthy mortal loved by the creator, what would you know of suffering, of hardship?!"
The dark elf spat back.
’...’
Hearing these words, Luka glanced down at himself, then closed his eyes.
Before he raised Oblivion.
"Yeah, you’re right. I haven’t suffered anything that daunting."
His eyes glanced at the dark elf without the same light, a faint black glow leaking from behind his iris as he swung down and cut the Undead in half.
Thud!
The dark elf’s head dropped, his ice blue face locked in anguish as it rolled across the ground, before landing on the river’s bank.
"...In this life at least."
Everything happened in a single clean sweep.
The battle wasn’t difficult, due to the Necromancer’s lack of skill.
"Reina should be fine now."
Luka stood over the Necromancer’s body and placed his hand above its chest before a strange suction force absorbed the remaining Miasma.
