An Ning shielded her eyes with one hand, seeing nothing.

But she felt someone sprint past her. Extending her spiritual power, she saw several people in pursuit.

She quickly stepped back, getting out of the way.

The people behind her gave chase with all their might and, after surrounding him, finally caught the man trying to escape.

An Ning glanced over curiously. She saw several people pinning the man down and beginning to search him.

But they apparently didn’t find what they were looking for. The men looked annoyed, muttering that they’d found nothing.

An Ning looked away and followed the crowd toward the exit.

But the station was very different today.

The last time she was here, there had been an inspection when she was departing, but not upon exiting the station.

But now, long lines had formed past the station’s exit. Everyone leaving had to be inspected.

’This must have something to do with the man they caught earlier,’ An Ning thought.

At the exit, several heavily armed guards stood watch while three others were in charge of the inspections.

There was also a dog beside them. An Ning didn’t know the breed, but it was very handsome.

It had long fur, dark eyes, and a handsome face, somewhat like a fox, but not as pointed.

The inspection proceeded calmly until the dog began barking furiously at someone and even pounced.

"Help! This police dog is attacking people!"

The person who had been knocked down was elderly, with a full head of white hair, and had been leaning on a cane.

Now, his cane lay askew on the ground as the silver-haired old man was pinned beneath the dog.

"What are they doing? What could an old man possibly have done?"

At that moment, the white hair on the man’s head fell off, revealing short, black hair underneath.

An officer beside him finished the inspection and said:

"All clear."

The officer returned An Ning’s bag to her.

An Ning took it and prepared to leave.

"Wait a moment."

The dog handler spoke. With a wave of his hand, two other officers moved to block An Ning’s path.

"What’s the meaning of this?"

An Ning met the man’s gaze directly, her expression open and honest, without a hint of concession or fear.

’She did have the contraband, but since it was in the Klein Bottle, it was as good as not being there at all.’

’She didn’t feel the least bit guilty. It wasn’t hers in the first place.’

The dog’s handler was also uncertain, but operating on the principle of leaving no stone unturned, he led An Ning to a room inside the station.

"I’ll need you to cooperate. We have to conduct a body search."

An Ning frowned. "What kind of search?" 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

"Take off all your clothes."

An Ning’s expression finally changed, her gaze turning icy. "And if I refuse?"

"You’ll go to jail."

An Ning looked down and scoffed.

"I respect the work you do, but don’t you think this is a bit arbitrary?"

"What’s your criteria? You haven’t even asked who I am, and you jump straight to a strip search?"

The man was unmoved.

"My intuition is the only standard I need. If the search turns up nothing, you’re free to go."

After he spoke, the man had a female officer enter the room. She looked at An Ning, her expression a mixture of disapproval and reluctant duty.

"Um... shall we begin?"

An Ning remained seated in a chair, completely uncooperative, and crossed her legs.

"I refuse to cooperate."

"I’m willing to cooperate with a normal pat-down, but a strip search is out of the question."

"Also, I need to make a phone call."

Two minutes later, the handler reentered the room.
