He knew that these people were being kind, allowing them to keep the money from selling the house. Otherwise, with Sun Daniu’s status as a criminal, they might have confiscated it along with the other lands.

The Xiao family also helped him to find a merchant caravan heading to the north. Merchant Yang would travel there with his people, and he has agreed to bring the Sun siblings along.

Shun Zi had confirmed that Merchant Yang was heading to their county right now, and he would arrive soon. With the Magistrate’s help, they should be able to make it in time to get the money from selling their assets before Merchant Yang departs.

Han Tingxun nodded. He really knew his friend’s reasonable personality.

She wanted to spend some more time with her son. Xiao Jingran had promised her he would bring her sons to the river once a while before they left.

"Father has run away..." Sun Tiezhu muttered again.

Qiu Mu pursed her lips and didn’t say anything. Actually, she didn’t hold much hope about her young son going against Sun Daniu. After all, the other party was an adult.

She just hoped he would live a carefree life with his other younger siblings.
