"Wanwan, look at this! Is this enough kneading? This flour stuff is harder to fight than a rogue beast from the outer ridges! Look, I accidentally snapped the wooden rolling pin in half again!"

Qin Mo pinched the bridge of his nose, letting out a sharp, irritated hiss as he stared at the flour-covered dragon.

"You uncultured, clumsy reptile... you are supposed to gently roll the dough, not execute it on a chopping block. You have gotten white powder over the clean stone floors and into my hair. Wanwan, please allow me to banish this brainless brute from the kitchen before he brings the entire ceiling down on our heads."

Lin Wan sighed, shaking her head with an amused smile as she deftly took a tray of perfectly shaped pastries and slid them into the oven.

Her words instantly brought peace to the kitchen, with Long Zhan submissively wiping his hands on a towel and Qin Mo turning back to the oven with absolute focus.

Within an hour, the rich, mouth-watering aroma of freshly baked treats and roasted spiritual meat completely filled the grand dining hall on the first floor of the mansion.

Lin Wan, Lanying, Qin Mo, and Long Zhan all sat together around the long, polished wooden table, sharing the hot meal like a true, unified family.

Lanying sat gracefully in her chair, her striking, beautiful blue eyes shining with absolute tranquility and deep joy as she watched the lively circus unfolding right in front of her.

"I personally selected it to help your physical energy recover after the long, tiring march to the capital. Do not eat those heavy, burnt lumps that the dragon threw into the fire."

Long Zhan bared his fangs, angrily shoving a massive, heavily sweetened pastry onto her plate, nearly knocking Qin Mo’s dish over in the process.

"Eat this instead, Wanwan! It’s packed with sugar, and sugar gives you real muscle and strength, not like those bitter weeds the snake keeps feeding you! Don’t listen to his fancy talk, a real female needs solid food to stay healthy!"

Lin Wan looked down at her plate, which was now piled so high with food that she could barely see the ceramic pattern underneath. She bit into a small piece of the pastry, a rare, soft warmth settling in her chest as she looked across the table.
