Hogwarts: Harry Potter's Return from the Witcher World

Harry was surprised and looked at Dumbledore. "Germania? That far?"

The Wild Hunt didn't just roam the world like tourists.

They only chased after Ciri.

Their appearance there meant Ciri had left the most traces in that place.

Harry realized it. So did Geralt and Yennefer.

"Where is this Germania?" Geralt asked.

Harry waved his wand, and a map flew out of the Sorting Hat, unfurling before them—it was a map of Europe.

"We're here now," Harry said, pointing to the glowing speck at the top left, marking Britain.

"Germania is here," he added.

On the continent across the channel to the southeast, several countries away, a region lit up brightly.

"It's about 8,000 miles away." Harry paused, counting on his fingers, converting units. "Geralt, that's similar to our li."

"That far?" Geralt was startled.

Witchers didn't stick to one region. They traveled between lands and villages, highly sensitive to distance.

Even without taking any jobs, traveling a hundred li would take three to four days.

Eight thousand li...

That would take nearly a year.

"What about that motorcycle?" Geralt turned to the corner, eyeing the quiet vehicles. "It made a joke, sure, but if it could generate that much wind, it must be fast. And it flies—terrain won't matter."

The Sorting Hat muttered, "I suggest taking a plane."

"More comfortable, faster. And flying that long at once? I'll fall apart. Sirius said his ride across the Atlantic nearly wrecked the bike several times."

"Plane?" Geralt mumbled. "Harry, you mentioned that before."

"I did," Harry nodded. "But no rush. First, we need to get you both proper identification. Professor Dumbledore?"

Dumbledore nodded. "Of course. We've been ignoring the Ministry lately—Scrimgeour seems to be making moves."

"Oh, and I need to notify him about tonight."

He waved his wand, and a quill began scratching out a letter.

Voldemort had died again.

The Death Eaters were nearly wiped out, only a few still at large.

For the Ministry, this was monumental.

Scrimgeour had been waiting for a moment like this. Perhaps it was the opportunity he needed.

"Shall we rest here tonight?" Harry took the memory from the Pensieve, returned it to a vial, and stuffed it back into the Sorting Hat. "We'll write letters tonight. Tomorrow, I'll take you to see Madam Pomfrey and Hagrid."

Geralt nodded.

Yennefer took a deep breath.

Dumbledore waved at them. "I imagine you've much to talk about."

Harry led them out of the office.

"This reminds me of Kaer Morhen," Geralt said as they entered the hallway, glancing around. "But more refined, cleaner. Must be hard to keep it this tidy."

"I think Yennefer will like it here," Harry said softly.

Yennefer scoffed. "Just because I'm an old woman, I must enjoy dark, gloomy places?"

Harry snapped his fingers. "Crow!"

Pop! A house-elf appeared. "Honored Mr. Potter, how may Crow serve you?"

"Prepare a comfortable room for our two guests," Harry instructed.

He paused and looked at Yennefer. "Whatever requests you have, you can tell it. It will meet your every need."

"No matter how picky."

Yennefer smirked. "You make it sound like I'm a fussy old woman."

Geralt and Harry exchanged a glance.

Who'd dare say it out loud?

"I want a soft bed," Yennefer began, "and some magical tools."

She went on at length—

Down to bed positioning, the size of a unicorn plushie, types of books, floor level of the room, the view outside...

The only drawback was that many magical materials and tools didn't exist in this world.

Geralt's head spun from all the specifics.

Yennefer finished and looked challengingly at Harry. "Well? Can you manage all that?"

"It's all prepared, my lady!" Crow replied gleefully. "Dear guest, please follow me."

Yennefer froze.

Geralt looked surprised.

They followed Crow up to the fourth floor, where a classroom had been transformed into a bedroom—large, soft bed with brand-new sheets smelling of sunlight, a bookshelf with her requested titles (borrowed from the library), and a faint scent of lilac and gooseberries.

Massive windows looked out onto the starlit Black Lake. Mermaids frolicked at the surface, too far to see clearly.

Exactly what she asked for.

"That fast?" she murmured, walking to the window.

Crow puffed up proudly. "The students aren't in school right now, so we can focus on our guests!"

"Hogwarts house-elves are the best!"

"No other elves can serve this many so well!"

Harry waved his hand.

Crow understood instantly and pop—vanished.

"These are special creatures here. They live to serve wizards," Harry explained, dragging a chair to the window and sitting. "They're very good at it. Just speak your needs."

"I introduced it so you'd get to know them."

"Actually, they take pride in staying unseen and silently offering the best service."

Yennefer was intrigued. "Where do you catch one of those?"

Harry shook his head. "There are rules here. If you want one, I can buy one for you—but I'm not sure you can bring it back."

"You never told us there were wizards in your world," Geralt said, bouncing lightly on the bed to test its comfort.

Harry chuckled. "I didn't know myself."

"Hogwarts wrote to me after I came back. That's when I learned what I was."

Geralt glanced at his chest. "And now you identify with the Griffin school?"

"Vesemir did say you were a good fit for Griffin."

Harry shook his head. "Geralt, let me explain—it's not what you think."

Yennefer felt the phrase sounded familiar.

Harry continued, "This badge is from Hermione—a witch, my girlfriend."

Geralt raised an eyebrow.

Yennefer leaned in, listening closely.

"Hogwarts has four houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin," Harry explained. "Lion, badger, eagle, and snake. I was sorted into Gryffindor, hence the badge."

"But I've always been of the Wolf School."

"I can prove it."

"My dear White Wolf."

He took off his wand and the Sorting Hat, waved, and summoned a small round table that spun and caught both.

Animagus!

The spell activated.

Before their eyes, Harry transformed—limbs twisting—into a handsome white wolf, then back again.

"See?" he said, spreading his hands.

Geralt was amazed. "Now you're a White Wolf too."

"That's why I've always been part of the Wolf School," Harry said seriously.

Geralt muttered, "You'd be more convincing if you weren't wearing the Griffin badge or summoning a silver griffin."

"Alright. Tell us more about what you're facing. We're still in the dark."

Harry nodded.

He recounted everything—his history with Voldemort, events over the years, and even details about Snape.

There were no two people in the world he trusted more than Yennefer and Geralt.

"There's another soul sleeping in your scar?" Yennefer's face darkened, her fists clenched.

It deeply unsettled her.

She had examined Harry thoroughly years ago. That scar, too.

But...

She hadn't noticed that the soul wasn't Harry's—just assumed it was innate spiritual strength.

Harry spoke softly, "Yennefer, no need to worry. Voldemort is very powerful."

"In matters of soul magic, no one's better."

"And we're dealing with two different magical systems."

Yennefer took a deep breath. "So the Wild Hunt isn't our only problem. Let me study it."

"I may need some books on soul magic?"

She spoke, but nothing appeared. Her expression darkened.

"House-elves belong to Hogwarts," Harry read her mind. "Anything related to souls is considered dark magic. The books are in the Restricted Section. Only Dumbledore's permission allows access. And elves can't touch them."

Yennefer stood up.

"Rest well tonight," Harry said, shaking his head. "It's been in my head for decades. No rush."

Yennefer glared at his scar and sat back down.

"Alright. I'll ask him tomorrow." She sighed.

Harry stood, waved his wand, and returned the chair and table to their places. "I'll leave you now. I need rest too."

"We'll be very busy in the days ahead."

"And there are still Ciri's traces to follow."

He walked to the door.

The two inside silently met each other's gaze.

Harry suddenly turned back. "Oh, one more thing."

"Professor Dumbledore lives on the eighth floor. I live in a farther tower."

"The house-elves don't monitor—they only sense a 'need for service' emotion. If they don't feel that, they won't appear."

"You have complete freedom tonight."
