Synopsis

After surviving three brutal years in the apocalypse, Wen Ci dies and wakes up in the 1980s as the long-lost daughter of a wealthy family—just in time to be forced into a marriage meant for someone else.

The moment she arrives, her own mother pressures her to marry in another woman's place. Never one to accept being controlled, Wen Ci would rather die than obey. She jumps into the river to escape—

Only to be rescued moments later.

Looking up, she sees a tall, broad-shouldered man with a face handsome enough to steal anyone's breath away.

“Just passing by?” she asks, practically staring.

The man replies with a cold expression.

“I'm your husband.”

Wen Ci is stunned.

Her arranged husband is this unbelievably handsome man?

If she'd known that earlier, she never would have jumped into the river. She would've happily gone straight to married life!

Later, while working at a hospital, Wen Ci often hears people talking about the legendary “Living Yama” of the Northwest—a ruthless and intimidating man known for his strict personality and decisive actions. Everyone fears him.

One day, a curious doctor asks her where her husband is stationed.

Before Wen Ci can answer, she looks up and sees Huo Jingyuan standing at the door in plain clothes, his expression as cold as ever.

The doctor quickly grabs her sleeve and whispers,

“That’s him—the Living Yama!”

Walking over to him, Wen Ci asks,

“What are you doing here?”

Huo Jingyuan gazes at her and calmly replies,

“To take you home.”

A sweet and heartwarming story about a lively young woman and the feared man who only has eyes for his wife.
