Leo took out his Origin Card to check the changes in his stats. The new changes were:

Physique – 17

Constitution – 17

Skills – Marksmanship LVL 3 (Common)

Crowbar Smash LVL 1 (Common)

Cheap Tricks LVL 0 (Uncommon)

Regeneration LVL 1 (Rare)

While he was admiring his newly gained strength and skills, a sudden knock on the truck’s door broke his focus.

"Leo, are you okay? I have been calling for you since morning."

"William, wait a moment. I am coming."

Soon, Leo emerged from inside the truck.

Seeing Leo come out, William released a sigh of relief.

"Leo, I got worried when I didn’t hear your response when I came to check on you this morning."

"I came last night as well to call you for dinner, but when you didn’t respond, I thought you were tired and let you rest."

"Is everything okay?"

Leo gave him a cheerful smile.

"I am okay. I was too tired after the fight yesterday, so I think I overslept. Thanks for your concern."

"It’s good that everything is okay. Come have breakfast. After that, we can all move out of here."

Leo nodded and followed William inside the building.

This time, when he entered the room, he saw a cute little girl sitting beside Elena.

Despite her pale complexion, her resemblance to Elena was unmistakable. She had the same sharp hazel eyes, though they were currently half-closed from exhaustion, and the same dark brown hair that fell messily around her face. Her delicate features hinted at the beauty she would possess when she grew older.

"Hello, Lily. So you remember me."

The little girl seemed shy and quickly buried her face in Elena’s bosom.

"Lily, don’t be shy. Greet Uncle Leo properly."

The little girl, listening to her mother’s instruction, lifted her head to look at Leo, but immediately hid her face again.

"Leo, don’t be upset with her. She is a bit shy around strangers."

Leo smiled.

"How can I be upset with our cute little Lily?"

The little girl, hearing the compliment, seemed to blush and tried to hide her face even deeper in Elena’s bosom.

"How is her health now?"

"The fever is gone, but she is still a little weak."

"Is she going to be okay to travel? If you want, we can delay our departure until tomorrow."

Elena shook her head.

"It’s better if we leave. The mutant you fought yesterday was very close to our location. We don’t know if there are more of those monsters lurking nearby."

Leo nodded, understanding her reasoning.

"Okay, let’s have breakfast and move out then."

Elena stood up from her seat to serve breakfast. The little girl, seeing that her mother had stood up and was moving away, hurriedly followed behind her.

Breakfast was completed in a harmonious atmosphere. The only odd thing was that the little girl would glance at Leo’s face from time to time and blush whenever Leo caught her looking at him.

Soon, everything that needed to be moved into the truck was loaded.

William sat in the driver’s seat, Leo in the passenger seat, while Elena and Lily stayed inside the compartment.

The truck started and moved out of the town toward Greendale City.

Leo and his team had been traveling for two days.

During the first two days, the relationship between them had improved and grown stronger.

Even Lily was no longer very shy around Leo. Though she still didn’t have the courage to talk to him, she no longer hid behind her mother whenever he was around.

The two days had not been very difficult, nor had they been completely peaceful. Leo and William had already gotten into four fights with zombies.

Even though the number of zombies was not small, with his increased strength and the support of William and Elena, Leo could even handle LVL 2 Mutated Zombies.

He was also closing in on his task of reaching LVL 10. He was now at 62% EXP.

The only problem they had encountered during these two days was that the water gathered from the extractor was not enough to fulfill all their needs.

Everyone was out of ideas, so Leo, with a bleeding heart, had to use one of his precious Upgrade Cards to upgrade the extractor.

Now the extractor could gather 100 liters of water daily.

The cards that zombies occasionally dropped were either food or medicine. Some rarely dropped bullets and crossbow bolts.

The number of Nucleus Crystals in Leo’s possession had reached 60.

This kind of life continued until the fourth day of their journey, when they reached the vicinity of a city named Rendell City.

This was because a huge military camp had been set up just outside the city’s entrance.
