Aero then look back at the map and is looking over at the mountain passes in Duvar that surrounded the holy capital city

’They would at least delay Eric long enough for me to turn the situation around. It is not a matter of strength. But a matter of speed. It is sparse and easy to defend, hard to break through’

Aero then look at the eastern border of Vanheim on the map and he smiles a bit. He picked up a chess piece but he hesitated to put it on that area.

’Is he still in the board? Or is he truly retreating?’

Aero is of course thinking about none other than the leader of the Orc, the Khagan of Nairhel Gruk

The Great Horde of the orc had threatened the eastern border of Vanheim during the Veranis invasion.

That action in a way had cause the Empire army to be restrained a bit and emboldened Karak and Veranis.

Of course, Aero could see that like the pawn that he holds on his fingers, Gruk is but a pawn in the game between the two imperial brother

Aero shakes his head and put back the pawn.

’I think he is out of the game. Though, I surely want an explanation later’ he thought to himself.

He sighed.

Right now, the morale of the army is soaring high. Aero had led them from victory to victory, in a feat grander than in the past

No one would be able to deny his contribution when he returns. This would form a silent pressure to the Emperor 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

The Emperor is very clever in hiding his claws that even he was almost fooled.

With the news of him being framed by the three families spreading all over the continent, by the time he returns back home to Vanheim, his reputation would not only be cleansed from that taint of killing famous scholars, his reputation would soar even higher now that he had taken Veranis into the fold of the Empire

The West is also in disarray.

Aerosia would take the Grata region if Derrick took the opportunity to use the vulnerabilities on Veva western border

But who knows what Derrick would do. He might even encroach upon Asgaro as the church trying to take the south and making that area to be vulnerable

Eric is taking a huge gamble

With the main bulk of the Veva army is in Duvar, this is the time for Derrick to expand the land.

Derrick himself had stabilize his internal and external problems so he could easily take regions and stabilize it under his rule.

The Church on the other hand would be stuck between many enemies. United Kingdom of Veva like always remains the most obvious contender for Aero plan to unify the continent

Aero then close his eyes and take a deep breath. He then opens his eyes back and shakes his head

He decided to take a few time to sort out his thought.

It is beginning to feel jumbled up.

There is a little more variable than before

But it did not change that the permutations of the strategies are even more than before. The less variables, also mean there is less ways but the changes of the events will not become less

Aero sighed as he heard the hooting of the owls in nearby forest.

Right now it is night.

’I need to take a walk’ he thought to himself as he slowly got out from his chair and Aero walk out from his tent and look around the area.

This city is a small border city between Duvar and Veranis. In the distance he could see that the city guards are repairing the walls that his army had torn down and cleaning the site of the battle.

’A great powerful army. If George was here eh would be proud. With this army, there is no doubt that my ambition could be realized’

The imperial army of the Empire is fearsome not because of its number. But because of their abilities that outstripped many of its peers.

He and George in enacting a lot of sweeping reforms had form the backbone of the structure of the army of the Imperial family.

Does this means that other kingdom did not have people that could do the same thing as him and reform their kingdom?

No, there is many. Many adventurers live in a world that is advanced than the native people of this world and they have novel ideas that could quickly raises this world kingdom improvement in all sectors.

But why then the other kingdom did not employ the same methods that he had proposed to the kingdom?

Why did no one spoke about the improvement that could be made for the sake of the kingdom?

Simply because it is a matter of inclusion

There is no changing the fact that this world while magnificent and magical is not the world of the people of Western Heaven

Too many this world is not that important to them until they were forced to live here and unable to return to Western Heaven

The power structure favored the native and the kings and nobles were all the natives people. And most of the people of Western Heaven despise the native people and were more content of living in this world like it is some big adventure

And there is nothing wrong with it before since they could not die. Most of them live like they were in a game

But it is no longer the same

And now they understood the importance of inclusion of them in the broad administration of their kingdom but they were to late already to enter at this point.

Aero was lucky in that he establishes himself as early as possible and was included in the kingdom administration and not only that, he sat on the highest place in the kingdom

The Chancellor of Vanheim is one of the highest office in the Empire below only the Emperor and one might argue that his power and his influence is equal to the Emperor or even surpasses the Emperor.

He did not only have the ability to employ such reforms, he also had the will to do it and with the permission of the strongest backer in the kingdom at that time, which is the King that Aero had helped in taking the throne.

While in other nations and kingdoms, most of the people employed in the court is old nobles and native people of the world as they could not trust these people that came from another place that suddenly appeared in their world.

Then what about United Kingdom of Veva.

Eric of course have the same knowledge as Aero in nurturing army and creating disciplined army.

Then the question is why then he did not employ such measure earlier>

The reason is simply because of the already entrenched way of training army in the United Kingdom of Veva which is at the time, was still Veva and even after Aero become one of the highest person in the newly rising kingdom, Zeus had just taken Veva and chaos was still rampant in all of Veva forcing Eric to not initiate any reforms during the early years of the kingdom under Zeus

Not only that, Eric also had to compromise with the old nobles and could not create a full complete reform like Aero had done as it would clash with the benefits of old nobles in Veva.

Eric could not completely centralize the kingdom because of the many interesting interest

Aero relationship with the old nobles are antagonistic with each other. But during the time of king George, King George respected Aero not only as an advisor but also as his teacher.

The reforms that he had done were all approve and supported by the King. By that time, the king already possesses almost unlimited power in determining the policy of the kingdom

And when King George died, Aero position is not only solidified, it was strengthened by the decree of the previous King

And one of the most reform system in the kingdom was the military.

The imperial army of Vanheim has exceptional disciple and training. Their battle drills are like a mini war.

Their drill is bloodless battle and their battles bloody drills.

Training and discipline is what made the imperial army of Vanheim so often victorious, not superiority in arms or numbers

And it is with this army, that Aero hope he could either stop Eric from entering Duvar or ousting him out from Duvar.

Hmm’ he smiles as he takes a deep breath. He still need to hear the news from the other side before he decided what kind of plan that he should use

Aero then laughed and he thought to himself

’Being too greedy is not to good. I need to unwind a bit. And not think too much about this matter.’

He looks at the moon. Tonight, it is very bright and even if people did not light up the fire, the moonlight illuminated the area.
