It was truly a glorious day for him.

He had not only had defeated the invading forces of Vanheim, he had orchestrated a scheme on Karak, bringing them to their knees while at the same time, he and his soldiers marches on and take Veranis capital

It was the high moment and he thought...maybe this is enough. Even if Duvar falls onto Eric hand, there is always a chance to take it back

He was in a dilemma. He already had done more than expected. Even at that time, if he turns back to the Capital he would be cheered on by the people

He thought about it for half an hour and then he rushes through the outside of the palace, call upon his army and then ride toward Duvar.

He made his decision that he would do what he could. And there is still a possibility for him to win big

Aero then look at the map that is opened wide eon the large wide table. He put down chess pieces on the map, denoting where is the forces of Veva and where his forces are.

He put Marquis Dan forces on Karak map.

’Dan would take House Cheveres region in its entirety in a few more days. I could send an order now for him to quickly send reinforcement after he had taken the last city.’ He muttered to himself to keep his thoughts in order

Then he put another chess piece on the other four regions of Karak all signifying the forces that is attacking Karak.

’In just a few days, with the intensity that they are showing, Karak would fall’

Some of their resistance forces might be able to take refuge and meet with each other for a last stand.

But he had already send general outline of the stratagems that should be sued. They should never let the forces of Karak to meet with each other and join hands.

Divide and conquer has always been effective. There is no use fixing something that is not broken.

That is the method that they should take now.

And that is the stratagem that he had used to turn Karak into a mess of big pile of chaos all over

As for Eric forces in Duvar, Aero knows even though they arrived earlier than him, it would not be easy for them to take Duvar.

There are many factors. One of them is King James soldiers that is manning the garrison of the many forts around the kingdom

If they take earlier action before Niovar could send help, then maybe Veva could easily take the kingdom

It is only when the situation at the western border of Vanheim is leaning to Vanheim, that Eric had made the drastic choice to abandon the south and tried a gambit

And Eric must also be concerned about the matter of Savillia kingdom.

By now, the news that the Savillia kingdom had ally itself with Vanheim in the current attack against Karak might made Eric more hesitant.

After all, Savillia is neighbors with Veva kingdom. Eric might be fine giving up the south. But is he fine letting his eastern border be taken over by Savillia?

Of course, Savillia did not have manpower to attack both Karak and Veva at the same time. But Eric only need to believe in it and if he believes in it, it would restrict him

Aero had put down all the chess pieces and then he looks at it and rub his chin.

He then sits back down on his chair and close his eyes. He needs to think what to do next

He had solved the Veranis matter so now there is less variables. Of course, Eric decision to abandon the south is still shocking for him. But it is not like he did not have any hint that it could happen.

There is always a chance that someone would be daring enough to pull the rug. In Eric case, he flips the entire table upside down.

And like expected the Church quickly is sending their forces to the southern border of Veva to gobble up that region not knowing that by taking the south of Veva, it would only burden the church

Aero of course has his own plans about the Church. And one of them is the inside information he got from one of his sources in the territory of the Holy Zun Empire

He had connection with the Medici family through Viola. Viola herself is now following his orders and is now in the Capital of Vanheim

Her existence and her cooperation with Aero is still a well-kept secret and this is a secret that Aero did not want other people to know, especially those people in the western region of the continent.

Both Viola and him had a common goal or to be more accurate in intersecting goals that would benefit each other

This action had been reported to the Six Councils and the Six Councils would cover it up for him. This is of course also a test to those Directors.

To see whether they are still loyal to him, or if they have change their position and favor the Emperor

For those who favor the Emperor and not serving the interest of the Six Councils, which is to serve the interest of the Empire and not the Emperor, they could expect themselves to be fired the moment he returns home

The Lady of Vanan had been supported mostly by the wealth of the Medici family.
