And they still have the gall to show up here!"

Levin Sawyer glanced through the window and saw Vincent Grant standing outside with Cedric Grant kneeling on the floor. A look of disgust flashed in his eyes as well.

"Should I get rid of them?"

"No."

Sophia Shaw had no desire to concern herself with anyone but Bun.

How long Vincent Grant and Cedric Grant wanted to stay, or how long they wanted to kneel, was none of her business.

She gently tucked in the corners of Bun’s blanket.

Bun’s eyes fluttered open, and upon seeing her mother, she began to wail.

Tiny teardrops trembled on her eyelashes, the very picture of misery.

Her little lip quivered, turned down in a deep frown.

The little one was heartbroken, having been hurt for no reason at all.

Her body still ached.

Sophia Shaw carefully gathered her into her arms, so afraid of hurting her that she barely dared to touch her.

She only dared to press her own cheek to the little one’s face, gently trying to soothe her.

Seeing this, Leah Evans felt her heart break.

"What did Bun ever do to deserve this? Why does she have to suffer this pain?"

The room was large enough and had everything they needed.

Sophia Shaw didn’t take a single step out of the room.

That way, she wouldn’t have to face the father and son.

Levin Sawyer even drew the curtains. Out of sight, out of mind.

A little after four o’clock, there was finally some commotion outside.

Old Mrs. Grant came striding over, supported by Miles Grant and Eleanor Crawford.

She was scolding as she walked. "How could you hide something this huge from me!"

"Did you think you could just pretend it never happened by keeping me in the dark?"

Miles Grant and Eleanor Crawford hung their heads under the verbal assault, not daring to utter a word.

They hadn’t told her because they were afraid the shock would be too much for Old Mrs. Grant.

Old Mrs. Grant naturally understood their intentions and let out a sigh.

"You two... Is my life more precious than Bun’s?"

"If something were to really happen to Bun, what would be the point of me staying alive? To live on in shame?"

"I’m sorry, Grandma," Miles Grant said quietly.

As the three of them walked on, they looked up and saw the two figures—one standing, the other kneeling.

Old Mrs. Grant was absolutely furious. She swung her cane and brought it down on Vincent Grant. "Look at what you’ve done! Just look at what you’ve done!"

Vincent Grant stood motionless, letting Old Mrs. Grant strike him.

Miles Grant and Eleanor Crawford didn’t know whether to intervene or not, so they could only stand by helplessly.

Cedric Grant, still kneeling on the ground, cried out, "Grandma Walsh, it was me! I’m the one who did wrong, I stepped on my little sister! Please, hit me instead!"

Julian Grant had just gotten back from a mission last night when he heard what happened and came right after them.

Old Mrs. Grant let go of the cane and began pushing and hitting Vincent Grant with her bare hands.
