Abandoned Omega: Wanted by the Bigshots in the Military Academy

Zoe Pierce looked away, then turned to Nathan Lockwood, her lips pressed into a thin line.

Nathan Lockwood explained, "I saw that you were interested in the story, so I asked a few more questions."

But the story’s ending wasn’t exactly a happy one; it was even a bit cruel.

Zoe Pierce didn’t know what expression to wear.

A complex mix of feelings filled her heart. It wasn’t that this story had changed her perspective to the point of thinking the Terrorist Organization’s actions were right.

But she couldn’t deny that any organization, no matter what it was, was made up of individuals.

This was just the story of one person they knew about; the stories of others might have already been buried.

Even they had been through a lot recently.

In the end, Zoe Pierce gave a resigned smile. "Turn it off."

The projection shut off, and Miles Sherman began briefing Zoe Pierce on the upcoming commendation ceremony.

Once they returned to the Capital Star, their military ranks would change.

However, now that Zoe Pierce had been awarded such a high rank, it also meant she would likely remain at this rank for a long time without further change.

Zoe Pierce accepted this readily.

Or rather, the current outcome was already far better than she had ever imagined; these were all unexpected boons.

In terms of her status, she now held a military rank, was an Omega council member, and was involved with the Pierce Family’s business.

And for the foreseeable future, all she needed to do was follow the established path: participate in rescue missions and complete the tasks assigned to her by the Military.

The journey back to the Capital Star took longer than the trip out.

Activating a space jump was costly, and with the mission complete, they economized where they could.

It took them a little over a week to get back to the Capital Star from C14.

Zoe Pierce knew the general gist of how the Military planned to handle the disclosure about Beta spiritual power, but she wasn’t privy to the finer details.

The Military was a giant machine, and each of them was just a small cog within it.

It was only because of their deep involvement that they had even a slight understanding of everything happening now.

As soon as they reached the Capital Star, Zoe Pierce learned that Justin Lewis could speak again.

Their lives were no different from before the rescue mission.

This kind of surveillance was long-term; it was impossible to learn anything in such a short period.

After receiving the official letter confirming her rank from the Military, Zoe Pierce was specially summoned to Instructor Joyce’s office.

She saluted as usual. Normally, Instructor Joyce would just nod, but today he returned the salute directly. "Zoe Pierce, we’re peers now."

He smiled, and Zoe Pierce smiled back. "But you’re still my instructor."

Instructor Joyce chuckled and shook his head. "Alright, let’s not get into that. After your rank was conferred, Director Quinn from your academy came to make a special request."

Zoe Pierce’s eyes widened slightly in surprise. "What did he request?"

"Omega instruction from Colonel Pierce. He wants you to go back to the academy to teach. It’s a new semester, and they’ve recruited a lot of Omegas this year. They specifically want you to go back and take charge," Instructor Joyce explained with a smile.

This sort of thing wasn’t uncommon.

Usually, Alphas with military ranks would take on a nominal position, just make an appearance, and teach a few classes.

After all, it was a military academy; it would be impossible if they didn’t have active-duty soldiers flexibly teaching the latest, up-to-date material.

It was just that soldiers on active duty with the Military usually didn’t take on long-term courses. They were only temporarily seconded for one to three months, which couldn’t compare to the full-time professors who had already retired from service.

Zoe Pierce was the first Omega to reach the rank of Colonel and was also a distinguished alumna of the Federal Military Academy. Inviting her to teach the newly admitted Omegas was a no-brainer.

It was also a way for the Federal Military Academy to show off, since other military academies couldn’t invite Zoe Pierce so easily.

"It’s for three months, until the end of November." Instructor Joyce showed Zoe Pierce the tentative schedule Director Quinn had drawn up. "This is the rough class schedule. About 20 class hours a week. You can discuss the specific content with Director Quinn. After the commendation ceremony, you can go back and prepare your lesson plans and figure out how you want to teach."

Instructor Joyce paused, smiling. "This is a good opportunity for you too, a chance to get some experience."

"Afterward, the Federal Military Academy will also submit your lesson plans and recordings to the Military. We’ll use them as a reference to see if we can apply them to the Military’s training for Omegas."

Zoe Pierce didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "I have no experience with this. I don’t know how well I’ll be able to do."

’She never dreamed she’d one day become a teacher. It would be an achievement just not to lead the students astray.’

Instructor Joyce reassured her, "Everyone has a first time. You have three months; you’ll get the hang of it."

Zoe Pierce wasn’t as optimistic as Instructor Joyce. She was the type of person who either didn’t do something at all or strove to do it perfectly.

Now that she was being forced into this, she couldn’t just muddle through it. But whenever she tried to think about how to plan the course, her mind went blank. She could only agree with a wry smile.

When she went downstairs, she saw Nathan Lockwood and the others standing there.

Seeing Zoe Pierce’s miserable expression, Chase Shaw was the first to ask, "What did Instructor Joyce say?"

It was rare to see Zoe Pierce with such a look on her face.

With a helpless expression, Zoe Pierce told them about being seconded by Director Quinn.

’Who would have thought? Just a few months ago, she was a student taking classes, and now, in a sudden turn of events, she was about to start teaching them.’

Her mind was now racing, trying to recall her own first Omega class when she was a student at the Federal Military Academy.

The memory was already a little fuzzy.

"Does this mean we won’t see each other for at least three months?" Aaron Xavier was the first to realize.

Someone seconded like Zoe Pierce would definitely be living at the academy. Besides, to ensure her safety, Director Quinn would never let her live alone outside.

And since they hadn’t been seconded, they obviously couldn’t leave the Military base.

Unless there was a holiday or official leave, they couldn’t leave the base either.

That meant the time they’d get to see Zoe Pierce would be pitifully short.

This was the first time they would be separated since becoming a team.

"Now that Zoe’s a Colonel, will she be assigned an orderly?" Chase Shaw suddenly thought of this.

Aaron Xavier’s eyes went wide. "An Alpha or an Omega?"

Zoe Pierce just smiled helplessly. "Not yet. Instructor Joyce asked for my opinion, but I told him I don’t have anything to manage right now, so I don’t need one."

Her promotion track was different from a typical Alpha’s. She couldn’t have her own people under her command like Colonel Hanson.

Although her spiritual power was beyond question, how to assign personnel to her was still a tricky issue that needed discussion.
