I was restless.

No matter how hard I tried to focus on something else, my thoughts kept circling back to the same question over and over again.

Why had the Lycan Prince requested for Maria to be brought to him?

The question echoed endlessly inside my head, refusing to leave me alone.

I shifted impatiently in my seat and clenched my jaw, as nothing about the situation made sense.

I had been the one who sent information to the Lycan Prince regarding the Moon Fall Pack.

Naturally, Sonia’s name had been included in that information.

After observing her for some time, I had realized she could become a useful tool if handled correctly.

A weapon disguised as an ally.

And the Lycan Prince had clearly understood my intentions.

The letter that was eventually delivered to Sonia had been written entirely under the Lycan Prince’s orders.

I hadn’t hesitated, not even for a second.

Because at that time, only one thing mattered.

The wedding couldn’t happen.

My hands curled into fists.

Noah didn’t deserve her.

The thought came as naturally as breathing.

I exhaled sharply and rubbed my forehead.

For the first time in a long while, I found myself hating my own helplessnes—The feeling was suffocating and I hated standing on the sidelines.

I hated being forced to wait for answers.

Most of all, I hated the fact that there was absolutely nothing I could do on my own.

The realization left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Lost in the chaos of my thoughts, I barely noticed the atmosphere in the room changing.

Then suddenly, every hair on my body stood on end.

A powerful aura swept through the room.

My head snapped up instantly.

The Lycan Prince had arrived.

As always, his presence alone was enough to make the air feel thicker, more oppressive and more dangerous.

I immediately rose to my feet.

The moment my eyes landed on him, instinct took over.

"Greetings, Lycan Prince."

My voice came out respectful and controlled. Lowering my head, I bowed without hesitation.

No matter what thoughts were running through my mind, one fact remained unchanged.

This was the most powerful man in the territory and disrespecting him was the last mistake anyone would ever make.

"What do you want?" The Lycan Prince’s voice cut through the room like a blade.

The irritation in his tone was unmistakable, and I immediately looked up in surprise before quickly lowering my gaze again.

That wasn’t what I had expected.

Usually, he was calm whenever he spoke to me. Cold and distant, yes, but never openly irritated.

In fact, every time we met, he always reminded me of the same thing—The quadruplets, their betrayal and their crimes.

The reasons I should never forgive them.

But today felt different, as something about his mood seemed off. His patience appeared thinner than usual, and the oppressive aura surrounding him felt even heavier.

I carefully swallowed the uneasiness creeping into my chest.

"I am here for the monthly antidote," I replied respectfully.

For a few seconds, he simply stared at me, and then he casually waved a hand.

The gesture was small, yet every omega in the room immediately reacted.

One of them stepped forward carrying a familiar bottle.

My antidote.

The sight of it instantly made my body relax. I hadn’t realized how anxious I had been until that moment.

The omega approached and extended the bottle toward me but just as I reached for it, he suddenly paused.

His hand remained suspended between us.

My brows furrowed slightly.

Before I could understand what was happening, the Lycan Prince spoke again.

"Are you ready to kill the quadruplets?"

The question hung heavily in the air.

And immediately, I understood.

The omega wasn’t waiting because of some mistake, he was waiting for my answer.

My fingers curled slightly at my sides.

I lowered my head even further.

"Yes." My voice came out firm. "I am more than ready."

The moment the words left my mouth, the omega finally released the bottle into my waiting hand.

I wasted no time.

Removing the lid, I immediately drank the antidote.

The familiar liquid slid down my throat.

A few seconds later, relief washed over me. The unbearable itching beneath my skin, the burning sensation and the constant heat that felt like thousands of insects crawling through my veins.

Everything disappeared almost instantly.

I released a slow breath.

For the first time in days, my body felt normal again. The relief was so overwhelming that I nearly closed my eyes.

I should have thanked him.

I should have bowed and left.

That would have been the smart thing to do, intact the safest thing to do, yet my feet refused to move.

Maria’s face appeared in my mind once more. The thought of her trapped within this territory refused to leave me alone.

Before I could stop myself, the question escaped my lips.

"What do you intend to do with Maria?"

The room instantly fell silent and the temperature seemed to drop as every omega froze.

And for a moment, even I regretted asking.

The Lycan Prince slowly straightened in his seat.

"Do you have a death wish?"

His voice was frighteningly calm, and far more terrifying than if he had shouted immediately.

My heart skipped a beat.

"I give the command, and you obey." The calmness vanished. "How dare you question me?"

His voice thundered through the room as he abruptly stood to his feet.

The pressure of his aura crashed over me.

My stomach tightened.

"Forgive my manners!"

I immediately lowered my head, as the words tumbled out before I could think.

Every survival instinct inside me screamed at me to leave.

So I turned and started walking toward the door.

One step.

Two steps.

Three.

I hadn’t gotten very far when his voice suddenly rang out again.

"Wait!"

The command wasn’t loud, as It didn’t need to be, as every muscle in my body instantly locked.

I froze mid-step.

My heartbeat pounded violently against my ribs.

The room suddenly felt much smaller and much quieter.

Slowly, I clenched the antidote bottle in my hand and waited, not daring to move another inch until the Lycan Prince decided what came next.
