At some point, the sounds coming from inside the club stopped.

The thudding shockwaves, the sharp crack of gunfire—nothing more could be heard. The fight was over.

Unlike the Saint and Dilla, who stared anxiously toward the club, Seti was certain Yeomyeong had won. Everything was proceeding according to plan.

With that thought, Seti leisurely turned her head and looked at Dilla.

Bleached white hair like a sick person’s, dark circles under her eyes—a necromancer through and through.

Dilla might not have known it, but she was the one who had contributed the most to today’s assault.

That information she let slip—about the Fallen Star—when she tried to seduce Neti.

Her sweet younger sister had immediately tattled to her big sister, and thanks to that, Seti became certain that the Earth’s necromancers were holding information about her bloodline and the Korean government.

She immediately began planning a full sweep of the necromancers.

After arriving in LA, she interrogated Dilla, identified the necromancer stronghold and their capabilities, and then attacked the club the moment night fell.

Yeah, Seti had never intended to negotiate or talk with the necromancers in the first place.

It wasn’t like they were legitimate players in the open world—so why bother? Just take everything. Easy.

And just as she'd expected, the operation was unfolding exactly as planned.

All that was left was for Yeomyeong to come out, then set off the bombs, raze everything except the warehouse and the vault, and that would be it. Done. Over. Except—

Yeomyeong emerged from the club... carrying a huge sack on his back.

A pale old man’s head peeked out from the top.

What the hell is that? Seti tilted her head slightly, but it was Dilla who recognized the face.

“...Death Knight?”

“What?”

Belladiva—who had claimed she had no intention of leaving a will—chuckled like it was all a joke, and the old man who’d talked about son-in-laws chimed in again.

—Must be because of that guy from the knights. When someone goes out that gallantly, it inspires people.

—We didn’t pressure him or anything?

—Hey now, watch your mouth.

Realizing what had happened, Seti walked up to Yeomyeong, who just shrugged, and firmly pressed her fingers to his forehead.

“You gotta respect how soft you are on old people.”

Seti didn’t press the issue further. It’s not like he’d done anything wrong—and if there was room to spare, why not do something like this?

Just as she thought that and prepared to detonate the bombs, the Saint, peeking into the sack, suddenly looked surprised.

There were more than a few familiar faces in there.

Free Rose. A former head of a prestigious noble house. A hero of a famous mercenary corps. Even a former instructor from the Paladin Order.

At that moment, the old man who’d talked about being a father-in-law noticed the Saint’s expression and spoke. The Saint swallowed her surprise and replied carefully.

“Um... are you the former head of the Dumea family?”

—Knew it. I figured at least one of the four of you would recognize me! So? Is our family still thriving?

“Ah, yes, well... It’s still known as the house that produced a remarkable genius.”

—A genius, huh. A woman or a man?

“She’s a woman, but why does that matter?”

The moment she answered, the former Dumea patriarch raised his eyebrows and looked at Yeomyeong.

—Son-in-law?

“....”

Yeomyeong forced a bitter smile off his face, then carefully stuffed the old man and the rest of the Death Knights back into the sack and tied it up securely.

“I’ll carry you properly after we’re done here.”

After finishing the packaging, Yeomyeong gave Seti a subtle nod. Without a word, Seti prepared the bombs she’d planted upstairs.

She manipulated the bomb with her shadows and then—

The explosion lit up the night sky with a pillar of fire.

But Dilla—and the rest of the group—just stared blankly at the blaze.

“...What the hell is that?”

The necromancers—including the Fourth Finger, the Ring Finger—watched the CCTV screens with nervous eyes.

It was because the Death Knights had failed to subdue the intruder.

Even if they couldn’t fully recreate their strength from life, there were six of them. Against one.

Apparently losing his patience, a young necromancer watching the feed muttered,

“What the hell are those idiots doing? Why don’t they just surround him and finish—”

Just as the others started to chime in—

“Shut it!”

The Middle Finger snapped.

All the necromancers, including the apprentices, fell silent. Watching this, the Ring Finger shook his head and offered an explanation in their place.

“If that were possible, they’d have done it already. Don’t question a Death Knight’s combat logic when you don’t understand what fighting a superhuman is like.”

By design, every Death Knight operated like a robot based on their combat experience from life.

Which made sense. The corpses chosen to become Death Knights were almost always peak-level martial artists, and trying to manually control such bodies only got in the way.

Which meant that the Death Knights on the CCTV weren’t charging the intruder because their superhuman judgment was telling them not to.

Someone capable of fighting on equal footing against six unstable superhumans... How the hell did someone like that end up on their doorstep?

The Ring Finger sighed and checked another CCTV feed. That’s when he noticed—the two women who’d come with the intruder were gone.

“...Where the hell did those two go?”

The answer came from an unexpected place.

“They’re plotting something outside.”

From behind the Ring Finger’s head, in midair, a black hole opened—and a single skull emerged from the darkness.

A floating skull hovering in the air.

It looked like something out of a ghost story, but the younger necromancers—not part of the Fingers—instantly dropped to their knees.

“We greet the Second Finger.”

The Second Finger appointed by the Immortal King to this world—the Index Finger—offered a brief acknowledgment of their bow and continued without delay.

“We’ve been played. All those bitches were the ones who entered the Psychic World on the train. The stars are hunting us!”

“You mean... those are the Fallen Stars?!”

“If they weren’t, do you think they’d hit us again so soon after Gemini City?”

It was convincing. The Ring Finger, unable to think of a rebuttal, cautiously asked,

“...Then what should we do? Shall we descend and join the Death Knights?”

To which the Index Finger scoffed, like it was the dumbest thing he’d heard all week.

“Fight? Why the hell would we?”

“What? Wouldn’t it be better to join the fight—”

“No. We handle death—we do not get tested by it! Don’t you realize? America is vast, and time is on our side!”

It sounded lofty, but at the end of the day, it was just a dressed-up way of saying let’s run.

The Ring Finger opened his mouth in disbelief, ready to say something—only to notice that none of the other necromancers were protesting.

The Middle Finger, who’d been whining just moments ago, had clearly decided to agree and shut up. The younger necromancers made no effort to hide the fact they wanted to bolt, too.

These freeloading bastards... do they even know how much money we’ll be burning if we abandon this place? These idiots don’t even know what a budget is and just spend whatever the hell they want!

Swallowing the curses in his throat, the Ring Finger tried to come up with an excuse—and remembered which Finger wasn’t present.

“But the Thumb hasn’t arrived yet...”

The Index Finger snorted through a nose he didn’t even have.

“Even if we all die, the Thumb will survive. Do you know how many backup bodies he’s got stashed away without telling us?”

“....”

“So save me your useless concerns. Order the apprentices downstairs to stall for time. I’ll open the dimensional gate.”

The moment he finished speaking, the Middle Finger dashed to the CCTV wall and began tapping a blacked-out monitor.

Tap, tap, tap. He tapped it in a fixed sequence, infusing his fingers with mana.

Then, with a click-rattle, the monitor slid back to reveal a hidden safe.

The Ring Finger watched it with tear-filled eyes.

In an era where everything had gone digital, necromancers—being criminals—still had plenty of assets that could only be stored physically.

Proof documents, bonds, gold bars, gems, and small shards of Corrupted Stone—all that was neatly tucked away inside the safe.

Without even a single sack to carry this shit in, could they even haul half of it out?

As the Fourth Finger considered this and began tearing his robes into makeshift bundles, the Index Finger spoke again.

“Now, I shall open the dimensional gate. Take everything you can carry from the vault.”

The Index Finger picked up a shard of Corrupted Stone with his mouth—and crunched it between his teeth.

The twisted mana sealed within the stone began to ooze across the floor and quickly started devouring space itself.

Vrrrrrmmmmm—

As the temporary dimensional gate # Nоvеlight # began to form, the necromancers scrambled to their feet and started grabbing what they could from the vault.

“The Death Knights are down!”

“He’s using magic now?!”

On the security feed, all six Death Knights were visibly frozen solid—and the invader was finishing them off without hesitation.

“Grab the checks, not the gold! Take the light stuff first!”

“What about the documents?!”

“Toss ’em! If it doesn’t make money, leave it!”

And just as the necromancers were rushing to stuff everything they could carry and waiting for the gate to fully open—

A massive explosion shook the entire building.

The necromancers screamed, dropped gems, grabbed their heads, and dove for the floor.

Fragments slammed into the walls, rattling them, and the external CCTV feeds showed a massive pillar of fire rising into the sky.

“What—what the hell?! Why is that building blowing up?!”

The Ring Finger muttered in confusion.

But none of the necromancers answered him.

After all, who the hell could explain why the building across the street—not the club—had just exploded?
