Perhaps from sleeping too much during the day, Kaelen woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t fall back asleep no matter what. He had to lie on the bed, close his eyes, and sort through the still-jumbled memories of his past life.
In his past life, Kaelen’s world was a magical world with a culture that was both similar and different compared to this place.
His original world had six genders, including: Male Alpha, Female Alpha, Male Beta, Female Beta, Male Omega, and Female Omega. There was another gender that was extinct, which Kaelen considered non-existent.
Kaelen was an orphaned Omega without parents, lacking a scent, with defective glands, and judged unable to reproduce.
However, he was lucky enough to awaken a Wood element ability, becoming a Level 3 Plant Master. Calling it a Plant Master sounded impressive, but in reality, he was still a farmer without any offensive power. The only difference was that normal farmers grew normal food, while Plant Masters like him grew spiritual plants exclusively for Mages.
Additionally, the Wood element ability could distinguish poisonous plants and could also assist Healers with minor treatments.
A Plant Master had low health and fragile skin; when a beast tide attacked the city Kaelen was in, just a tail whip from the weakest Demon Snake in the beast tide smashed him all the way to the Beastman World, reincarnating him as a Sub-Beast.
This world only had two genders: Beastmen and Sub-Beasts.
Beastmen were almost like male Alphas, the only difference being that they could transform into a beast form.
Warrior levels were divided into twelve levels, encapsulated into four ranks: Beginner (Level 1 to Level 3), Intermediate (Level 4 to Level 6), Advanced (Level 6 to Level 9), Holy Beast level (Level 10 to 11), Demigod level (Level 12), and God level (above Level 12). On the continent currently, there were only three individuals who had reached the Holy level; the remaining Demigod and God levels were matters of several thousand years ago.
Sub-Beast Beastmen had a structure similar to male Omegas, the only difference being that they retained some traits of a beast form, such as ears, tails, fangs, or claws. The birth rate of Sub-Beasts was very low, with only 3 Sub-Beasts for every 10 males, so Sub-Beasts were highly pursued.
Kaelen was very unlucky; he had no parents in his previous life, and even in the orphanage, he was an invisible child, unnoticed by anyone.
Reincarnating into this place, on the day of his birth, he suffered from dystocia and almost became a stillbirth. Moreover, during this time, the tribe was fighting with the Cipher Tribe; right after Kaelen was saved, the news that his Daddy had sacrificed himself on the battlefield was relayed back. Papa, having just given birth, couldn’t withstand the shock and died of a hemorrhage shortly after.
Next, the frontlines fell, the tribe was directly attacked, young male beasts were killed, and Sub-Beasts and young Sub-Beasts were taken away. The High Priest used all his abilities to help the remaining tribesmen escape, which was why he lost an arm and the ability to communicate with the Divine Beast.
And all the blame was dumped on the head of a newborn child, Kaelen, because right after being born, he caused the deaths of his Papa and Daddy, and also caused the entire tribe to fall into a state of ruin.
Although sensible people like the High Priest, the Chief, and some elderly tribesmen affirmed that this had nothing to do with Kaelen, the rumors still spread throughout the tribe.
Later on as he grew up, he couldn’t speak like other normal children; the rumor that he was a disaster was further verified, and everyone in the tribe shunned and rejected him.
A child isolated by his tribesmen, Kaelen also became increasingly insecure; he even proactively asked to move to a faraway cave, avoiding contact with the people in the tribe.
He thought he would live like this forever, until the unexpected incident with Sane occurred. In the situation of having an unspeakable relationship with Sane, he also awakened the memories of his past life; for a moment, Kaelen didn’t know if he was reincarnated or had transmigrated halfway.
But no matter what, the genuine emotions in his heart couldn’t be faked. He loved this tribe, loved the honest and simple tribesmen. Even though everyone didn’t like him, they never harmed him; even when food in the tribe was scarce, they didn’t hesitate to cut a bit from their own portions to share with him.
Even the Sub-Beast Beastmen in the tribe found learning sign language to be troublesome, but they still patiently learned it, just to understand what he was saying.
Kaelen thought to himself, since he had awakened the memories of his past life, then he should use that knowledge to repay the tribe’s grace of raising him, then find a place with picturesque scenery, eat his fill, and wait for death.
Tossing and turning until nearly morning, Kaelen unconsciously fell asleep. He dreamt again; in the dream, he was tightly coiled by a giant dark green snake, constantly rubbing here, squeezing there. Especially his buttocks, squeezed to the point of pain.
Then the green snake opened its mouth and bit down on his head, making him unable to breathe and forcing him to open his mouth. The moment he opened his mouth, a slippery snake tongue instantly slipped in, making his stomach churn, wishing he could vomit immediately.
Kaelen struggled to open his eyes, and what met his eyes was a looming face of someone; his mouth was still being brutally bitten and chewed on. Kaelen was stunned for a moment, then angrily pulled his leg back and kicked out.
Sane, who was kissing passionately without any defense, was immediately kicked back quite a distance; he clicked his tongue to show regret. The feeling actually wasn’t bad.
Kaelen trembled with anger, grabbing an object to throw again. Sane smirked despicably and said:
"Why so tense, just claiming some benefits. I see your injuries are healed, how about we do a quick one?"
Fuck your mother!
Kaelen swung his hand to slap towards Sane. Sane just raised his hand to block, grabbing Kaelen’s wrist, not forgetting to squeeze it lightly a few times; Kaelen used all the strength he had to nurse and couldn’t wrench free. He turned his face away in anger, his other hand constantly wiping his mouth.
*Hmm! Actually quite adorable, isn’t he?* Sane rubbed his chin, evaluating Kaelen from head to toe, then grabbed Kaelen’s chin to force him to look up at him, saying:
"Although you look sloppy, your entire body from top to bottom is very clean, your hair has no lice, your body doesn’t have the stench of animal skins, and you even smell very nice. What did you smear on your face? This is definitely not your true skin color. Come on, wash it off for me to see."
Kaelen frowned and swatted Sane’s claws away, with absolutely no intention of following his words. Wasn’t this guy the coldest and most arrogant beastman in the tribe, staying quiet all day and barely saying a few sentences? Why was he so talkative now?
[I’m fine now, I want to go home!]
Sane frowned: "Are you really fine? Don’t go fainting halfway, and then blame it all on me."
[I’m really fine. I will take a detour, won’t let the people in the tribe see me.]
However, in the end, Sane still adamantly refused; it wasn’t until the next day when Kaelen could walk normally in front of him that Sane agreed to let him return.
True to his word, Kaelen took another path back to his own cave. His and Sane’s residences were both far from the center of the tribe, so his departure from Sane’s cave went unnoticed by anyone.
As soon as he returned to the cave, the first thing Kaelen did was boil a large pot of water to bathe and brush his teeth cleanly.
God only knew how a clean freak like him had to endure staying in Sane’s cave, which was both dark, damp, and reeked of a fishy smell. He didn’t want to step foot in there ever again.
After bathing, his whole body refreshed, Kaelen took the dried meat Sane gave him and cooked a simple meal to eat with the wild vegetable white root flour porridge.
Kaelen had previously found this type of root flour not far from the riverbank; eating it could fill the stomach better than just eating meat and wild vegetables. Its shape was very similar to a hairy yam, but with less starch and the taste wasn’t sweet; instead, it had a slight bitterness.
However, for this primitive society, that was also a tremendous leap in culinary development.
Kaelen had secretly brought it back for the High Priest and the Chief, so they could spread it widely within the tribe. He also didn’t let them reveal that he was the one who found it, because just by saying it out loud, everyone would definitely rather starve to death than eat it.
Their prejudice against him had truly been engraved into their bones.
