Chapter 35
By the time I finally got him through the front door of my hotel room, I was panting.
I was pretty strong. Even I do say so myself. I was coming off an injury that could be the reason for my lack of strength.
The room was almost eerily quiet. It was almost impossible to get the man through the door.
"You are impossible," I muttered under my breath, shifting his arm more securely over my shoulder.
The guy was built, not as built as the guys I work with but built enough that was heavy. Heavier than he guys I work with. I could see from the casual clothes he wore he was rich. I didn’t care though none of that mattered to me. Like they always say the higher they are the harder they fall.
That’s how I felt about the rich.
As he stumbles again and we’re nearing the bed, I tighten my arm around his middle.
"I am walking..." he slurred with a lazy grin on his handsome face.
I roll my eyes. "Barely."
"Hey don’t say that beautiful..."
"I’ll shut my mouth when you’re walking on your own two feet." I tell him.
I help him onto the bed and finally got him off me.
I let out a sigh.
I looked at him passed out on the bed and I couldn’t help but look at him. I’d noticed him almost immediately.
The man was breath taking.
The last time I went on a date I nearly lost my head.
"Hot damn you’re beautiful." I whispered out more to myself than to him.
I bent down and removed his shoes.
I was in two minds, did I stay? This was my hotel room. I’d be out of the country tomorrow. And will probably remember this night for the rest of my life.
I better take the couch. I smile at him when I turn toward the sofa at the side. When warm fingers wrap around my wrist. I turn to see him watching me.
"I..." His voice was rough, gone was the cold man I met at the bar... "Don’t go. Please"
"You’ve had too much to drink. Me staying would be a bad idea..." I tell him.
"I know. But just for tonight I want to make dad decisions..." he says so softly it sounds like a plea.
His grip on my wrist wasn’t tight. If I wanted to I could leave and forget about it. But something about the look in his eyes and the sound of his voice had me giving in.
He pulls me down and our lips meet for a brief second before I pull away.
His hand on my cheek.
I inhale sharply. Taken aback by how my body relaxed at his touch.
"God I don’t know what attracted you to me. I’ve never met a woman who wanted me because I was me. Not because of what they could get from me..." He says softly.
"Is that a compliment? I found you hot and wanted to fuck you..."
He chuckles. "You’re..." he murmurs.
I swallowed waiting for him to continue.
"...so beautiful. So different from any girl I’ve met before..." he says softly.
Heat rushed to my face. "You’re drunk." I remind him.
He nods "I know."
"You won’t even remember this tomorrow."
He smiled faintly. "Maybe. Or maybe I don’t forget and I remember this night for the rest of my life."
I sure hope so... I think to myself.
Knowing full well I might never see him again. I might die tomorrow or worse not remember this night.
His gaze lingered on her as though he were trying to solve an impossible puzzle.
"There’s just something about you... I can’t explain it. Something about you draws me in..." His brows furrows
I let out a nervous laugh. "You’re wrong. I blend into the shadows." I tell him sitting on the bed.
"No you’re wrong. Even the shadows could never hide your beauty..." He says, his thumb brushing against my lips.
Before I could even answer him, he pulls me into his arms.
Because the man was drunk we both fell. I was now on top of him.
"I like the view from down here..." he jokes.
I couldn’t help but smile. "You’re a real charmer..."
He pulls my head down to him kissing me deeply.
He shoves his tongue into my mouth, catching me off guard. Heat rushes through me.
He pulls away from the kiss.
"So beautiful," he whispered again.
I’ve never felt this way before. Getting hot and bothered by a kiss. I almost felt dizzy by the kiss.
"That’s the alcohol talking." I remind him.
"Maybe, maybe not..." he shrugs.
His fingers run through my hair, he pulls my hair loose from the clip holding it together. "Your hair reminds me of a golden thread. Its so soft and gold in color."
For a moment I’m at a loss for words.
Which was rare for me.
He flips us over pulling his shirt over his head. Looking at this man’s body I sure as hell couldn’t stop myself from wanting him.
I knew I wanted him the moment I spotted him.
I told Trina I wanted him.
I was going to make him mine even if it was just for one night.
I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him.
Carly Lewis
POV
I jerked awake, my eyes flew open.
What was that?
My dream is dark, my hand is under my sleep shorts.
Did I just?
I was panting. I was sweating.
I pushed myself up.
I was soaking wet down there.
Was seeing Chase shirtless really that much of a turn on to me?
I got out of bed and went into my ensuite and took a shower.
While in the shower I was getting flashes of Chase completely naked below me, me riding him. Him holding onto my boobs.
I was getting wetter with very flash.
"What..." I pressed my trembling fingers to my head, trying to stop the memory, or dream or whatever that was.
My heart was beating out of my chest.
I could hear myself say all these dirty words. I couldn’t explain it, t had felt real. Way too real to be a dream.
I squeezed my eyes shut, trying not to remember more. The more I remembered the harder it was to stop myself from touching myself.
I wanted memories of the past, but I didn’t know if I wanted memories of my past. But if that was a memory why did it have to be of me sleeping with Chase.
How was I supposed to look him in the eye after that?
A dream? Or... A memory?
The thought made my stomach do a flip. I got out of the shower and stared at my body in the mirror. My body looked almost identical in the dream, I had scars on my arms and stomach. I look at the burns on my arms. So that happened the night I saved Chase. That was six years ago.
I got dressed and went out for a run. I needed to clear my head.
My mind wouldn’t let go of the memory of Chase drunk. It kept playing over and over again in my head. It just stayed there. I was too embarrassed to face Chase again.
If it had been a memory... Then everything I thought I knew about that night changed I’d imagined to drunk people who hadn’t even spoken to one another.
Not the two of us feeling a genuine connection. A part of me wanted it to be a memory and another was scared of it being anything more than a dream.
I swallowed hard.
Dream me had found comfort in Chase, the way Chase looked at me alarmed me.
Another question crept into my mind, if it had been a memory why did I leave when I didn’t want to? When I wanted to get lost in Chase.
I stopped running my hands resting on my knees, panting...
"I don’t understand..." I mutter to myself.
By the time the sun was up and people were moving around the estate I made my way back to the house. I hyped myself up, telling myself to act natural and not to picture Chase that way anymore.
I walked into the house exhausted and panting. The smell of fresh coffee hit me as soon as I walked in.
I walked toward the kitchen and saw a shirtless Chase making breakfast for Stella.
The second Stella saw me, she beamed. "Mommy Carly!"
She launched herself into my arms, I caught her and gave her a kiss on the top of her head.
"Good morning, Estrella..." I pause as the name leaves my lips.
Stella doesn’t notice and talks on. "I helped Daddy make pancakes." she says proudly.
"Oh?" I smile. But the name Estrella stayed in my memory bank.
"I only dropped one." she says shyly.
Chase laughed. "Three. You dropped three Stella." I look up at him, seeing him shirtless wasn’t helping keep the memories at bay.
Stella giggled. "It wasn’t three the other two fell into the bowl so it’s fine.
I couldn’t help smiling. "I’m proud of you Stella..." I tell her.
