Her earrings and necklace were simple but they complimented her look, and she had bleached her hair back to the same ashen blonde color she had before she became pregnant and it was now in soft waves that fell all the way down her back.

She pretended not to hear him. "Are you guys coming?"

He walked over and entered the elevator, pressing the floor to her office while she pressed one several floors below to the conference room.

"If you need anything, you only need to say the word and I will be there." He reminded her.

She turned around and kissed his lips, then kissed her son. "I have everything I need right here."

He pulled her with one hand and deepened the kiss, but the elevator dinged and interrupted them.

"Break a leg." He whispered.

"Don’t jinx me." She joked and hurried out of the elevator before the doors closed on her. She took a deep, calming breath and entered the conference room to face her first employees.

"When I said ’break your leg’, I didn’t mean you should literally break your leg." Xiehan remarked when he met his wife three hours later. She had changed out of her high heels into the flat sandals that an employee got her, and the same employee had helped her to her office.

He looked up at her smiling face and frowned. "What’s so funny, huh? You only had one task—to walk. But you couldn’t do that without tripping. What were you in such a hurry for?"

She couldn’t stop herself anymore and burst into laughter.

"You sound like a husband."

"Well, news flash my dear wife, I am a husband." He opened the first aid kit and frowned when his brain finally processed her words. "What do I sound like on other days?"

Lin Jian pushed the door open and poked his head in. "Are you busy, CEO Li?"

Xiehan looked up at his friend. "She is busy getting a foot massage from her husband. Do you need anything?"

"Xiehan," Lanni laughed. "Come in, Lin Jian. You don’t need to be so formal with me."

It was all thanks to Lin Jian’s training that Skyline Media existed to start with. He had taught her everything she knew about managing a media agency—not that he would ever accept that much credit.

Lin Jian let out a breath in defeat and revealed his flowers. "Fine. How about this? Let’s play a game. If you defeat me, I will stay away from Ruby. If I defeat you, you have to bless us."
