- Chapter 1: Rudrean Zen & Aelira Vinz
"Did you hear that the Isbilun family is over?"
"What happened?"
"They got annihilated by two students. Here, check this video. It’s insane."
...
The next day, news and video of the entire sequence of events spread like wildfire in the supernatural side of the world.
Rudrean and Aelira’s names were on everyone’s tongue as the Supernova Couple of their planet.
They also ignited something in all youngsters as they began working hard, wanting to follow in their steps and become as strong as them.
But those two were already gone with the other eighteen people toward a new horizon.
In outer space above Earth, the spaceship of Rainstar Institute vanished into a wormhole for FTL drive as the Headmaster watched them disappear.
Hope and anticipation were bursting within the Headmaster’s eyes.
The only pity he felt was that Rudrean and Aelira were unable to share their Arcane Paths.
’To think they got Arcane Paths of that realm... I’ve only heard about those from others,’ the Headmaster thought, feeling excitement after a long time in his life. ’Only the legendary figures in the Riglight Galactic Alliance have paths like those.’
’The Legendary Arcane Paths that can only be attained by oneself and can never be shared. Haha, I can’t wait to see their future.’
...
Hours passed as the spaceship tore through layers of space, crossing unimaginable distances in seconds through the FTL corridors.
Inside the ship, Rudrean and Aelira stood near the observation panel along with the other eighteen.
Space twisted outside like flowing liquid glass. Colors stretched, folded, and snapped back into existence as stars flickered like distant embers.
And then...
The distortion ended.
The ship exited the wormhole.
What appeared before them...
Silenced everyone.
A planet.
Massive.
So vast that even from this distance, it dominated their entire field of vision.
Bands of glowing atmosphere wrapped around it, shimmering with layered magical currents. Continents pulsed faintly with light, as if the entire planet itself was alive.
"That..." one of the students muttered. "...that’s a 5-star planet?"
"It’s frigging bigger than our star system’s sun," another whispered.
Rudrean’s eyes gleamed.
Aelira grinned. "Now this feels like a proper stage."
[Isalyn: Welcome to one of the ten core societies of rising individuals in the Riglight Galactic Alliance.]
As the spaceship descended, the scale became even more overwhelming.
Gigantic floating landmasses orbited the planet like satellites. Streams of energy connected them, forming a vast network of glowing pathways in the sky. Massive structures pierced through clouds, some reaching into the upper atmosphere like pillars that held the heavens in place.
And then...
They saw it.
The Rainstar Institute of Adventurers.
At first, it looked like a dome.
But as they drew closer, they realized how absurd that description was.
A colossal hemispherical barrier spanned across a region over one hundred kilometers wide.
The dome shimmered like a transparent ocean, its surface layered with countless magic arrays that pulsed, rotated, and shifted in perfect harmony. Runes lit up and faded like breathing stars, forming an ever-changing defensive and scanning network.
Inside...
Was not just a facility.
It was a city.
A living, breathing, self-sustaining magi-tech civilization.
Vast districts stretched across the interior, each seamlessly blending nature with advanced magical engineering. Towering crystalline skyscrapers rose like grown structures rather than constructed ones, their surfaces flowing with streams of light that carried energy like veins.
Between them, enormous trees thrived, their canopies forming natural skylines. Some buildings were embedded into those trees, while others floated mid-air, anchored by anti-gravitational arrays.
Waterfalls cascaded from elevated platforms into rivers that flowed through the city, their waters glowing faintly with purified mana. Bridges of light arched across them, connecting one sector to another.
Pathways were alive.
Literal streams of condensed energy acted as transit routes, where students and constructs moved at high speed, guided by invisible systems.
Markets, training grounds, research facilities, residential complexes, and massive arenas were all integrated into the landscape.
One section held colossal training zones where gravity fluctuated. Another contained illusion-based combat arenas the size of small cities. There were towers dedicated purely to spell research, emitting constant pulses of energy into the sky.
Flying constructs moved in organized patterns above the city. Some resembled sleek vehicles, others looked like living creatures made of light and metal, carrying people or materials across sectors.
Everything functioned in perfect synchronization.
Nature was not replaced.
It was elevated.
"This..." Rudrean muttered, his voice low. "This is insane."
Aelira’s eyes sparkled. "This is perfect."
The ship passed through the dome effortlessly.
For a brief moment, a ripple spread across the barrier, scanning them in an instant before allowing them through. Layers of unseen systems evaluated everything, from mana signatures to biological composition.
Inside, the air felt different.
Denser.
Richer.
Filled with mana so pure that just breathing made their bodies feel lighter, sharper, stronger.
Several massive platforms floated mid-air, acting as docking zones. Ships of various sizes hovered, docked, and departed in an orderly flow.
The ship smoothly descended onto one of them.
As the door opened, a wave of fresh, mana-rich air greeted them.
"Welcome to Rainstar Institute of Adventurers," a calm voice echoed.
Standing before them was a man dressed in an elegant uniform embedded with faintly glowing patterns, with a symbol of a golden cloud and silver-starry rain on his shoulders.
Behind him, the vast city stretched endlessly under the dome.
"Hello. I am Wuzai, and I’ll be acting as your guide for this admission. Please step outside."
Rudrean and Aelira stepped out first, followed by the other eighteen people from Earth.
However, the moment those eighteen exited the spaceship, they suddenly trembled.
Max, who had the weakest physical and magical parameters, couldn’t stand still as his knees hit the ground.
The other ten graduated students were also not all at the peak of the Foundation stage, so four of them also buckled and fell.
The seven seniors, including Cloud Warrior Harga, were trembling but standing straight, resisting.
But walking felt impossible.
"What’s going on?" Aelira was surprised.
"It’s the gravity of this dome," Wuzai said. "It is 132 times weaker than the original gravity of this planet."
"You two seem fine." He looked at Rudrean and Aelira and nodded. "The golden bones are perfect. You two will follow me."
"The rest of you can wander the garden like others. There is plenty of rich energy here that will raise your physical stats and refine your body until you have golden bones."
Cloud Warrior Harga and the others looked at the huge garden below.
They were at the extreme northwest corner of the city.
Hundreds of people, all at the Foundation stage but without golden bones, were walking around in the garden that was like a small forest.
"The faster you attain golden bones, the quicker you can participate in the admission process, which involves a test. Based on your test scores, you will be labeled in different categories of students and granted different perks."
Turning around, he waved his hand. "All the best."
Rudrean and Aelira followed him.
When they arrived at the edge of the docking platform, a big cotton cloud arrived from nearby.
"Get on the cloud. We’ll head toward the admission test area first and get your scores," Wuzai said.
Rudrean and Aelira stepped on the cloud as it flew toward the heart of the city.
