Killian had always left his read receipts off, so it took him no time to delete the entire message and act like it never happened.
He still formulated excuses and a good narration to give just in case, but the message was out his phone and out of his mind as he walked out of his Dorm.
His thoughts shifted to the Withered Fae spoken about in the text and he wondered if the egg would really birth a fairy. It would be his first seeing one.
However he knew that releasing the egg here to satiate his curiosity would be the worst idea ever. He checked the message George had sent to his phone.
It had the Dorm details of all the Amega Region newbies. Killian considered them irrelevant to what he needed.
He noticed that of the four dorms, the Amega Newbies were in the Crimson Tiger which had the third level of potential. He checked again to be sure and confirmed that it was true.
’Is there a reason they were sent to such a Dorm or is this another test from that Coordinator?’
If Killian was to meet the coordinator, his first question would be how the mistake was made and Amega newbies entered a realm with beasts having the exact resistance to their element.
Killian knocked on the door as he arrived at the Dorm, specifically the room where majority of the Amega newbies were kept. Crimson Tiger Dorm, a door marked by the silver-plated door.
The door was slammed open. He froze, then took a step back.
"Ah, it’s Leader-sir," Felina yelled out, and turned to the girls who were on their bed.
The girls sprang off their beds and rushed to the door, and at that moment, Killian noticed two other girls walking towards that direction.
He calculated quickly. If these girls jump on him, the other newbies would think they were weird. Amega region already had a bad rap and he noticed that they were all in the same room, so there was no mixing with the others.
Just before the girls could reach him, Killian pulled the door to a close and heard them all hit the door.
He sighed. "Sorry, but let’s all hold our horses, okay. I just wanted to know if you are alright."
"We also want to know if Leader-sir is okay! We left you behind!" Felina yelled and the rest agreed angrily.
Killian sighed again, watching the two girls pass while they gave him suspicious glances as he was holding a door shut in the girls’ dormitory. It looked weird either way.
"So you are all okay? Has there been a match yet?"
"Leader-sir, open the door. Are you scared?" Felina teased.
Killian nodded since they couldn’t see him. ’I am scared of how much energy you all have.’ He paused, realizing. The beds he had seen in those rooms were five. Also, Pixie hadn’t revealed herself.
"You all are scaring him." Kia spoke up behind the door, in a scolding tone. "For us all, our training was canceled because we recently had a trial and were said to have passed beautifully."
The door opened when Killian heard that. He stared at the anticipating faces of the girls, and couldn’t understand if they wanted praise for that.
"That trial nearly killed you guys." He said flatly. "You should be having a case in court for that. Attempted murder caused by carelessness of a coordinator."
Their expressions turned gloomy. Felina frowned. "We could have died? I mean, it did seem out of our league but isn’t that how all realms play out? Anyone could die—"
"I believe what he means is that, the realm was just too hard for us," Kia explained. "I thought of my capabilities really hard after that trial. And for a D-Rank Warden, I didn’t think I should do that bad."
Killian nodded in agreement. A D-Rank Warden could make attempts in a D-tier realm and be a good support in a C-tier realm. But in a B-tier realm, and all alone, that was simply a death sentence.
"Our leader did say she was going to look into it." Jane spoke up. She shrugged. "But we have not heard anything yet."
Killian left the girls’ room after confirming that they were all okay.
Since they wouldn’t be having matches with the more experienced newbies of Olpha, Leta, or the Central for the time being, they could watch others’ matches and get better.
As he left, he looked at the platinum plated door at the end of the Crimson Tiger Dorm which Kia said Pixie had been sent to.
"I never asked Juda how much of a help she had been. Perhaps, she did have a good amount of potential, and backed up by her secret element." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
He wouldn’t put it past her to use her second element in fights, just like he did, and finish quicker. He checked his phone for the address of George again, and continued down the Dorms.
"No way. There’s just no way."
Killian overheard a familiar voice within the Dorm. He slowed down when he spotted him, standing beside a tall elegant girl.
The girl chuckled softly, in the performative way wealthy people acted to claim class. Her fingers trailed on the shoulders of the boy she spoke to, and Killian visibly cringed from the display.
Killian dragged his eyes back to Theodore, the boy speaking with her. He hadn’t seen him since their last training together, yet he couldn’t help but notice that he looked different.
"It seems everyone looks different since then. Growth in strength that is reflected in our physical bodies." He stared at his hands. "I am not sure, but it does make me curious for our match—"
"Who are you talking to?"
Killian sealed his lips tightly, cranking his head behind him. He had passed the hooded figure but didn’t pay it any mind because it could’ve been anybody. ’I keep getting caught monologuing.’
But it turned out to be him— the one who Evelyn said had the shortest match during their training selection for the academy— and Theodore’s resident ’bodyguard’ who was everywhere he was.
Killian shook his head, turning to face him.
