Glass after glass, Selena Sheridan grew drunker and drunker, while Georgia Thorne only grew more sober.
Extremely sober. Her birthday... she had nearly forgotten it herself. Only Selena remembered.
In this lifetime, she was the only true sister she had.
Selena Sheridan was very drunk, so Georgia Thorne, not trusting her to go home alone, decided to take her back to the Sheridan residence.
The cold air cleared her head a bit, but that clarity just gave way to a dull ache.
"Shhh, my family doesn’t know I sneak out to drink. We have to be quiet when we go in." Selena Sheridan made a hushing gesture at her, a silly grin on her face.
Georgia Thorne helped her inside. At this hour, the Sheridan family elders should have been asleep long ago.
Selena Sheridan’s room was upstairs. The moment they started up the stairs, the previously quiet girl suddenly became loud and boisterous.
She clung to Georgia Thorne’s shoulders. "Georgia, don’t apply to Qinghai University! Isn’t your dream to go to Portmire U? Listen to me, go to Portmire U, you hear me!"
Georgia Thorne’s head throbbed. She was already exhausted from supporting her, and now, of all times, Selena had to start acting up.
Struggling with the swaying girl, she said through a headache, "For heaven’s sake, didn’t you just say we had to be quiet? If you get caught drinking, you’ll be in deep trouble!"
"Oh, right!" Selena Sheridan laughed, her voice rising several notches. "It’s fine! It’s your birthday today, and I’m happy! My parents won’t say anything to me!"
Georgia Thorne was speechless.
’And who was it that was so scared just a moment ago?’
"Don’t believe me? I’ll go find my Second Uncle! You’ll see, he won’t say a thing to me!" Before Georgia Thorne could react, Selena Sheridan pushed her away and staggered toward Elliot Sheridan’s door.
Georgia Thorne was about to lose her mind. Just seeing Elliot Sheridan was embarrassing enough.
She wanted to stop Selena Sheridan, but it was too late. Selena was already leaning against the door, pounding on it with all her might. "Second Uncle, are you asleep? Second Uncle!"
Now, all she could do was pray that Elliot Sheridan wasn’t in his room.
However, things rarely went according to her prayers.
On Selena Sheridan’s second knock, the door opened.
Elliot Sheridan, even in private, was devastatingly handsome and charming.
His white shirt was unbuttoned at the collar, revealing an alluring, sexy collarbone.
"Second Uncle, you’re home!" Selena Sheridan’s eyes widened in surprise.
Elliot Sheridan’s icy gaze shifted from Selena Sheridan to Georgia Thorne.
Georgia Thorne immediately stepped forward to support the stumbling Selena Sheridan. Seeing him again was incredibly awkward. "Selena drank too much. I was just bringing her home."
"I am drunk, but my head is perfectly clear!"
"Selena! Keep your voice down!"
"Just help her back to her room first," Elliot Sheridan said.
Georgia Thorne couldn’t manage to drag the drunken Selena Sheridan by herself, so Elliot Sheridan simply scooped her up and carried her into the room.
Elliot Sheridan unceremoniously dumped her on the bed, causing Selena Sheridan to yelp in pain.
She sat up, her hair a mess, looking like a wild ghost. "Georgia, haven’t you always dreamed of going to Portmire U? You should apply to Portmire U! That Qinghai University isn’t right for you!"
’Geez, even when she’s this drunk, she’s still thinking about me.’
Then she passed out, snoring loudly. Elliot Sheridan nudged her with his foot, but there was no response.
Georgia Thorne wiped Selena Sheridan’s face with a hot towel to help her sleep more comfortably.
