What Phoebe was doing with the help of baby Star was learning how to control the enormous power in the crystals. It did not take her an hour and when she came out of the cosmic suspension finally, she noticed how strangely the others looked at her.

"What?" she asked.

Nervously, Maureen asked, "How are you feeling? Do you sense something different about you? Do you feel more connected to the all the magic in the world? Can you hear the birds in the sky and newborn babies with powerful lungs crying out for the first time? Can you hear the sound of your mother seething because we are late by three hours?"

None of her questions made sense to Phoebe and the last one confused Rufus and Rekha as well.

"Why is Rekha kneeling?" Phoebe asked.

"Pheebs you..." Rekha started but Rufus stopped her.

"She was just tired of standing so she decided to kneel." he lied. "Do you really feel there is nothing different about you?"

Phoebe shook her head; she was feeling like the same old Pheebs just more alive like a flower blossoming in spring. "Are you guys being weird because I took so long in there? I was just channeling and distributing the energy from the crystals. This stuff is as

good as pink cocaine, and I have never sniffed it, but I imagine that this is what those who use it feel." She announced, bouncing on her feet for she had never felt such an energy rush which felt a breeze of sweet fresh air in her body.

Her companions gawked at her without saying a word. They were confused because she had no idea what she was. The only reason why they were calm was because Rufus had told them not to be excited before they could confirm their suspicions about her.

Premature excitement might lead them down the wrong path.

"Great! Now that we have confirmed that Pheebs can make the connection, what is left is to let Sabrina in the know about what is happening and get her to weave spells like all your lives depend on it." The spirit clapped once with enthusiasm. "Which they do." She reminded them before anyone could raise a concern about what sounded like a lifetime of Sabrina being locked in a darkroom and forced to weave spells by a cruel Zephyra, wielding a whip.

"We should go." Phoebe told them.

They shifted to both sides, creating a gap between then becoming her runway. Rufus and Maureen stood on the right and Rekha and David, the left. It felt odd to Phoebe, but she did not really care. She could see her mother's seething face in her mind.

Phoebe cocked her head and began to walk but then stopped suddenly, she spun and studied the far end of the pathway. All she could see was darkness, just as she was about to turn around and leave, wind came from the darkness.

Everyone turned their heads to the dark end and realized it was not dark anymore. A white light was swirling, a portal leading to somewhere else had appeared there.

"Oh goodness!" Rufus yelped, jolting backwards as if struck.

For a full second, Phoebe froze then, the scream came. It was not from her but Rekha.

"What the hell is going on?" Phoebe looked at Rufus.

A gun was fired by David. The Saxon spirit stopped the bullet before it could go through the portal. Rekha and Maureen had their weapons already drawn out just in case something or someone dangerous came out of the portal. But nothing came.

"Listen to me." Rufus started.

David fired another bullet and Pheobe rolled her eyes.

"Come on, motherfucker." Maureen muttered, right hand gripping her moonfang blade.

The Saxon spirit disarmed everyone that was holding a weapon. "Enough! Fear not." The spirit told them calmly. "It is simply a passage that leads to the academy." It announced, clicking its fingers which compelled the portal to disappear.

Rufus stared at Zephyra, confusion cooling in his eyes. "How was that possible?" He asked.

"Grandpa do you mean that you knew nothing of that portal?" David asked his fingers pointing to where the portal had been.

The spirit laughed at his question. "Of course, he does unlike you Rufus must be wondering how the portal appeared without him summoning it using his blood and a spell." It answered swiftly.

"Yes! In that dream I was taught how to summon the portal and also told that I am the only one that can. This is the only secret path into the school in existence so who activated it? Was it you Zephyra?" His eyes only grew bigger.

"Guess again." Zephyra replied.

Their heads moved at the same time, falling on Phoebe. She was the only weird one in the room. If anything, unexpected happened, the odds were great that it was related to her.

Rekha raised her arm, her index finger pointing at Phoebe. "Could it be that it appeared because she is the grand guardian?" She blurted out what Rufus had told them all to keep on the down low.

"I am the what now!!" Phoebe asked, she tried to hold back her laughter but couldn't. She realized that while she was still laughing, the rest of them were not. "Guys come on, I am not grand guardian material. I am not the type to selflessly sacrifice her life for the sake of humanity. I will be the first to get on a plane and take my Star to Silver nation when shit hits the roof.

You are all welcome to join us. Anyway, out of all the things I have heard before, this is the most ridiculous! Right Zephyra?" Her eyes moved around in search for her, but the spirit was nowhere to be seen.

"Where is she? We need her take on this." Maureen's head bobbed back and forth.

Phoebe snapped her fingers to get everyone's attention. "I have special abilities, was reborn blah-blah maybe that is why strange things are happening. Let us get out of here I have a wedding to prepare for." She began to stroll towards the iron door, giggling because she still found their guardian theory ridiculous.

As the elevator dropped them back in the study and she prepared to exit, Phoebe felt a tiny kick in the tummy. "I do not know why you are laughing mom. You may not be the grand guardian, but you are carrying one." She casually voiced quietly.

The shock of the baby's words made Phoebe knock her right foot against the corner of a chair.

"Are you alright?" David rushed to take a look at the injured foot.

Before she could answer, Phoebe felt another kick and then a warning came from Star in a voice that made Phoebe wonder who the parent was and who the child was between them. "You better not say anything about this to anyone not even father. Especially not great grandma because we both know how lose her mouth is.

I am nothing but a half-baked baby, if rumors begin to spread about who you are or what I am. There are people that will hunt for us and yet I cannot really do much to keep you safe until I can teleport out of you successfully. Zephyra disappeared to avoid speaking on the matter."
