Clara pulled her car to a stop in front of the club and unfastened her seatbelt.
The flashing neon lights and loud music spilling out of the entrance immediately caught Lily and Silvia’s attention.
Both women frowned at the same time.
"A club?" Silvia blurted out. "Madam, how can you go into a club by yourself?"
Lily quickly nodded in agreement.
"Exactly! Please give me the cake. I’ll deliver it instead."
Without waiting for Clara’s response, Lily had already reached out, trying to take the cake box from her hands.
Clara quickly pulled it back.
"Hey, hey..."
She laughed helplessly.
"What are you two doing?"
Lily crossed her arms stubbornly.
"We’re protecting you."
Silvia nodded seriously.
"What if there are drunk people inside?"
"What if someone starts causing trouble?"
"What if someone flirts with you?"
Lily immediately added another possibility.
"What if someone kidnaps you?"
Clara stared at them.
"...How did we jump from delivering a cake to being kidnapped?"
Lily looked completely serious.
"You can never be too careful."
Silvia nodded so hard that her ponytail bounced.
"Exactly."
Clara couldn’t help laughing.
"Girls..."
She placed a hand on each of their shoulders.
"Which century are you living in?"
"It’s just a club."
"I’m delivering a cake, not marching off to war."
Lily pursed her lips.
"But—"
"No buts."
Clara smiled reassuringly.
"I’ll be in and out in five minutes."
"If I’m not back in ten..."
She pretended to think for a moment.
"...then you can come inside and rescue me."
Lily’s eyes lit up.
"Really?"
"Yes."
Silvia sighed helplessly.
"Madam, why does it sound like you’re looking forward to us storming the club?"
Clara grinned.
"It would certainly be entertaining."
The two women looked at each other before simultaneously shaking their heads.
Their boss...
Was far too optimistic.
Seeing that they still looked worried, Clara’s smile softened.
"When my mom got sick, I took every job I could find."
"I delivered food."
"I worked as a waitress."
"I even worked late-night shifts."
She shrugged casually.
"So delivering one cake doesn’t bother me at all."
"It doesn’t make me any less of a boss."
Lily and Silvia fell silent.
Only now did they realize why Clara never hesitated to help with even the smallest task.
She had never looked down on honest work.
No matter what position she held now, she was still the same Clara.
Clara picked up the cake box and smiled.
"Stay here."
"If anyone suspicious comes near my car..."
She pointed dramatically at the two women.
"I’ll leave them to my two fearless bodyguards."
Lily immediately puffed out her chest.
"Leave it to us!"
Silvia couldn’t help but pufff her chest.
"Go on, Madam."
"We’ll be right here."
Clara flashed them a reassuring smile before carrying the cake toward the club entrance.

Meanwhile, inside one of the club’s luxurious VIP rooms, loud laughter echoed through the air.
Expensive liquor covered the glass table while music from the dance floor thumped faintly through the walls.
Eric leaned lazily against the sofa, swirling the whiskey in his glass.
Around him sat several of his close friends, all dressed in expensive suits.
Jacob took a sip of his drink before shaking his head in amusement.
"Dude," he laughed, "I’ve got to admit... your acting skills are incredible."
Eric raised an eyebrow.
"What now?"
Jacob smirked.
"How do you keep Hannah wrapped around your finger?"
The others burst into laughter.
"I mean, seriously," Jacob continued. "You disappear for days, make up some excuse about business trips, and she still believes every word you say."
Another friend, Ryan, chuckled.
"I’ve never seen someone trust another person that blindly."
Eric let out a mocking laugh before taking a sip of his drink.
"That’s because she’s too naive."
He set the glass down casually.
"All I have to do is apologize once or twice."
"And she’s convinced I still love her."
Jacob whistled.
"That’s cold."
Eric shrugged without the slightest hint of guilt.
"What can I do?"
"She makes it easy."
The men laughed again.
Ryan leaned forward curiously.
"So what about the woman you’ve been seeing?"
Eric smiled faintly.
"She’s fun."
"And Hannah?"
Eric let out a sarcastic chuckle.
"Hannah serves a different purpose."
Jacob raised his eyebrows.
"Meaning?"
Eric crossed one leg over the other.
"My family needs the Sterling family’s support."
"As long as Hannah stays by my side, the Swam Group benefits."
"The moment I marry her, our business will have an even stronger connection to the Sterlings."
He spoke as though discussing a business contract instead of the woman who loved him.
"So why would I let her go?"
Jacob couldn’t help laughing.
"You’re unbelievable."
Eric smirked.
"Love doesn’t keep a company alive."
"Money does."
"And Hannah..."
He swirled the whiskey in his glass.
"...is simply the easiest way to secure both."
The room erupted in laughter once more.
Ryan shook his head.
"You know what’s funniest?"
"What?"
"Hannah looks at you like you’re the only man in the world."
Jacob nearly choked on his drink laughing.
"Meanwhile, you’re dating another woman behind her back."
Eric smiled coldly.
"That’s her problem."
"If someone chooses to trust people so blindly..."
He shrugged indifferently.
"...they shouldn’t complain when they get hurt."
Jacob raised his glass.
"So you’re really planning to keep both women until after the marriage?"
Eric clinked his glass against Jacob’s.
"As long as Hannah remains useful to me."
"Once the Swan Group has everything it needs..."
A cruel smile spread across his face.
"...whether she stays or leaves won’t make much of a difference."
The group exchanged amused glances before bursting into laughter again.
None of them realized...
Outside the VIP room, fate had already begun turning against Eric.
Clara stood frozen, every word from inside reaching her ears.
This bastard...
How can he mock Hannah’s love like it’s some kind of joke?
Her fingers tightened around the cake box.
She was never supposed to find Eric here. She had only wandered into this corridor after taking a wrong turn while looking for the exit.
Yet somehow...
She had stumbled upon the truth.
"I don’t care whether you believe me or not, Hannah," Clara muttered under her breath, her eyes turning cold. "But tonight... I’m going to make this man’s life a living hell."
The corners of her lips slowly curled into a sly smile.
Just then, a waitress carrying a tray of drinks walked toward the VIP room.
A mischievous glint flashed across Clara’s eyes.
She stepped forward and gently stopped him.
"Wait."
She smiled sweetly.
"I need your help."
