Rebirth: Beasts Bound

My eyes slowly snapped open, and I sat up on the bed, gently massaging my temples when Ryker walked toward me. He gently pulled my hands away and replaced them with his, massaging softly.

It was then I realized they were all around me.

Didn’t I lock the door? How did they even unlock it?

Plus, the room was much darker. The curtains covered every part of it, as if they were blocking any form of gossip from reaching me. It made my heart feel warm, and the table was filled with noodles, chicken, beef, and some coconut drink. They must have prepared everything for me. Even a warm towel lay inside a basin, and I could tell it was still hot from the small steam rising from it.

"You should eat. I cooked a lot," Veyra said, snapping me back to reality.

I forced a smile at him, yet shook my head. I really didn’t have the appetite to...

But my stomach betrayed me and growled loudly. I could only fumble awkwardly and suck on my bottom lip.

Thyrian moved from the chair he sat on earlier and sat beside me. He took my hands and placed the basin on his thighs before gently wiping my hands clean with the warm water.

"Don’t you guys think I killed her?" I asked, and everyone paused.

"Kill? The last person you would hurt is Liora," Azrael said and gently sucked in a little air. "I’m afraid if you keep saying that, we might as well make you see that you didn’t," he said, and I sighed, staring at my hands.

"I should have done something... maybe—"

"Those maybes are in the past," Veyra cut in, his thumb gently resting against my cheek as he caressed it softly. "Liora sacrificed herself for everyone. She knew she was leading herself toward death. Raven, heroes die, and the last thing she would want is for you to blame yourself," he said softly, and I sniffed.

The tears slid down my face, but I felt the warm towel gently caressing my skin.

"We all liked her," he whispered, and I rested my face against his palm.

After what seemed like an hour of persuasion, I finally placed a spicy green pepper into my mouth. It tasted half-cooked but crunchy, and my eyes widened with amusement.

"Wow... you are such a good cook," I muttered softly before gently taking another bite of the chicken, and Veyra gently caressed my hair.

My eyes saddened a little as I remembered her laughter...

"I’m okay," I mumbled softly and gently placed the chicken back into the noodles.

"Master, you have to eat," he said, and I forced a smile.

"I will later," I said, and they exchanged glances before nodding.

I placed my head back against the bes, and it didn’t take long before my eyes slowly drifted shut.

It felt warm and cold at the same time. The next second I opened my eyes, no one was inside the room.

Had they gone somewhere?

I gently stood up from the bed, adjusting my dress carefully.

"Guys?" I called out, yet no response came.

I moved toward the door and gently creaked it open. Outside was so quiet, and no footsteps could be heard. Exactly then, the sound of frogs and crows echoed faintly through the silence.

I stepped outside and gently closed the door behind me.

What was happening? Where was my beast-men?

I moved farther away from my room and spotted two females coming around the corner. I immediately hid behind the wall.

"God, didn’t you see? She wouldn’t leave her room," one girl said, and the other sneered.

"She must feel guilty or something. Don’t you think she liked Liora?"

"Isn’t it weird Elowen burst into tears only after Raven left. What if she was trying not to cry in frijt of her, because Raven had killed Liora?" the second girl whispered shakily, and I laughed bitterly in the corner.

They still dared to say such unpleasant things... I clenched my fists tightly, but then I remembered the words Elowen had once said about me. Had she been going around smearing dirt all over my name so no one would suspect her? 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

I knew Elowen was evil, but I never expected her to smile so brightly when Liora died... or even call her a lowborn. Plus she also brought out the demons.

Why destroy the Divine Gate if she didn’t want someone specific to die? What was her motive?

I walked out of my hiding place and clenched my fists angrily. I walked down the stairs, ready to take the north route, when I suddenly spotted Elowen and Darian sneaking around suspiciously.

I bit down on my lips and followed after them into the woods. I later stopped a few distances away so they wouldn’t feel my aura.

I watched Elowen remove her gown before stepping into the tent that had already been set up, but the tent was transparent, I could still see everything clearly.

My nose scrunched in disgust.

Her breasts stood proudly as Darian moved closer. His hands grabbed them gently, squeezing softly before his mouth landed against her skin.

He sucked slowly, and she moaned.

After killing Liora and her beastman and almost making Lilith die... she was here doing this? The mighty Elowen was doing this...And she was still the female lead?

A dark chuckle escaped my lips.

"Time to have a new female lead world," I murmured underneath my breath, moved forward but then my foot landed on a dry twig.

Crack.

Elowen immediately stiffened. "Check outside," she said, and Darian frowned.

He walked out completely naked, only a cloth hanging loosely around his waist, but before I could move....

A cold hand suddenly covered my mouth while another wrapped around my waist, holding me firmly in place.

Seeing nothing suspicious, Darian walked back inside, and Elowen’s moans filled the tent once more.

But thinking about it...Darian had given Elowen black magic? Why? And for what purpose?

But I had little time to think about that, because I felt the muscular arms behind me pull me closer, and an "ah" escaped from my lips.

"Let me go," I whispered hoarsely, he didn’t, but he smelled so familiar.

I was sure it was one of my beastmen, and...."Azrael, let me go," I muttered, and Azrael chuckled softly.

"Very good, Master. You still have your senses with you."

With that, his hands reached lower around my waist before he lifted me easily. I gasped softly as he threw me over his shoulder, and I sighed, not even fighting back anymore because I felt weak.

"You shouldn’t watch disgusting individuals," he said lazily. "Now you need rest. We can always murder them later."
